Que voz bellisima! Encaja perfecto en este personaje... Tan bella, tan exquisita. Que legado dejo esta artista, verdad? Gracias por tus tesoros Onegin65!
Miss Lorengar will always be among my favorite Opera singers. Along with Louise Fribo, Inva Mula, Alma Gluck, Janet spencer, Ingrid Kertesi and Lia Origoni. I shall always cherish Miss Lorengar's performance of "Addio del Passato" because it was one of the first opera songs that I ever heard and was part of what made me start listening.
I love her fast vibrato! I heard her sing a Mimi (with Bergonzi) with the Met in the 1970's and she was glorious. I'll never forget the sound of her voice in live performance: sunlight streamed through her voice.
I´m a pilar Fan since I started listenig to Opera 25 Years ago ,as a matter of fact Pilar opend me the world of this Music with here wonderfull art. She is always true in what she does. Their are maybe more beautyful voices in that area but the sound of here ever youthfull timbre always gives me a cill.
This was not a live telecast, it is from a documentary titled Estrellas españolas de la opera (Spanish opera Stars), a 1 hour documetary dedicated to her. In it we see her singing Elsa's Dream, Tu che la vanita, Come coglio and this' plus an interview with her on her early years and her life up to that point.
For me this is a wonderful discovery. I thought I knew all the exemplary Puccini interpreters; I am amazed and a little humbled.

Ecco una Manon appassionata e passionale che non ha, per questo, sacrificato nulla del belcanto e della sua voce.

The conductor for the selection is Odon Alonzo.
