  • Charlie's great!

  • How can you not love Charley's version of this song.

  • I'm just an old man and really like Bobby Bare, but Charley rocks this song. no i'm not black.

  • I'm grew up in Baltimore. It was a good city when I was a kid, now it's full of drugs and crime. There's not a day that goes by where you don't hear police and ambulance sirens blairing like 3 or 4 times a day.

  • Beautiful. Thanks. Now somebody please upload on youtube, "The snakes crawl at night" by Charley Pride.

  • Can you still get this great Album In Person I think it is one of the best ever recorded

  • Going to see Charley Pride tonight at Mile One in St.John's Newfoudland

  • Nothing tears down barriers like music does!

  • @swmpmn85 Do you remember when they would not print his picture on the sleeve -it was thought it would affect sales-how wrong they were

  • @candw87 thank god they didn't or no one would know who he is today. good business choice.

  • It is truly sad that we are losing all the greats in true country music.Awesome song.Live and keep singing forever,Charlie.

  • A racism demolisher Mr. Prude was.

  • he is just dandy

  • used to sing along with charley pride songs on the radio when i was only 6

  • Real country, superb

  • There is nothing like Charlie Pride!

  • Saw Charlie at the London Paladium - so laid back! Fantastic.

  • "live at Panther Hall" Awesome album and some hott playin by Lloyd Greene!

  • I saw Charley Pride on stage in 1980. He was a first-class entertainer. And he still is.

  • Such an original artist . . .but wasn't this song on an earlier album - early 70s? Can't remember which one!

  • An other singer I didn't know. V nice.

    Grazie Alan

  • Great crooner! he brings every song to life.

  • I love this music... know all the words and sing right out loud cause it takes me back!

  • Charley Pride has always been one of my favorite "Country Singers" the supposedly country music of today just isn't really country.

  • man i just love charlies voice even in little old new zealand

  • iioyd green does such a great job on this playing steel

  • Excellent version of this song!

  • one and only pride

  • While I love Charlie...Bobby Bare's original is a great classic

  • @docsavage98 I think I'd put Pride's version just behind Bare's and Gram Parsons.

  • It probably matters whose version you heard first. I heard it by Charley Pride first, and it still sounds the best to me. But, I'm a Bobby Bare fan, too.

  • taken from what i think is Charley's greatest album - Charley Pride In person

    5 stars from me...

  • @moonboots69

"Live at Panther Hall". If you can still get that album, GET IT!

  • this is one of my favourite thanks for posting.

  • No one can ever do this song better!!!

I love Charlie Pride, and all of his songs!!! He is a wonderful artist, performer & singer!!!

  • i certainly agree with that geart singer and performer.

  • Fantastic pedal steel guitar playing, as always, by Lloyd Green on this live recording done at Panther Hall in Ft. Worth, TX.

This album is one of my favorite Charley Pride recordings.

  • oh yes I like you much maria south africa

  • no soul.

best version is gram parsons live, 1973

  • No soul! You dont know what you are talking about.

  • Just because you're black doesn't mean you have soul

  • I agree, charley pride is a great country singer though

  • Charley...You are the pride of country music!!...

  • Yes and yes.

  • this is great music. it brings back memories of my childhood . these are good sweet memories

  • To all youtubers. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see and hear all these great country singers that I grew up with but never saw. I have all the albums but it has been a revelation to see them performing.

  • immense song,LOVE THIS GUY.....

  • Another GREAT song by a GREAT artist.

  • Charlie Pride is one I've always been proud to be a fan of. Love his songs and his voice.

  • Charlie Pride & Hal Katchum had a song together I am sure it was called Field of Yellow Flowers seen them years back on TV singing it together can not seem to find this one anywhere. Does anyone out there know where it can be found.

  • The charley Pride & Hal Ketchum song was called FOR TODAY!

  • Nobody sings it like Charley, what a great voice, great talent.

  • Try Tompall Glaser and the Glaser Bros. Tompall is the original songwriter and singer. I agree, Charlie's rendition is perfect, but Tompall is the one and only.

  • second best version ive heard of this song next to gram parsons IMHO

  • my sister loves his music she use to have the lp

  • can anyone tell me if charlie pride is still alive .and if so is he still performing

  • Yes He is Alive! Check out his Website

  • yes he is still alive

  • Charlie pride playing in ireland in november, get there!

  • I have this album and several others by Charley Pride. Love the guy! One of the best musicians alive! I would love to get ahold of him. Saw him on Ralph Emery show and he named one venue that he did. Happened to be in my home town. As a matter of fact the only place he could have played there, was directly across from grandmas farm!

  • I would dearly love to find "You're so good when you're bad"....I love that song. He is a wonderful country singer..

  • This is great. This one is off of the classic "Live at Panther Hall" album with Lloyd Green playing pedal steel.

  • I just love the second-to-last chord Lloyd plays on that talking part. You know, the high one. (On beat four). On the line "Much more than.. SHE LOVED me". At 1:53.

    Don't you?

  • Yeah Lloyd was THE MAN here...He told me a few years ago he resisted Charley's offer to play behind him at this "Live at Panther Hall" album in 1969, but Charley sweetened the pot to $10,000. and flew Lloyd in from Nashville that nite. There were only 3 mikes. One for Charley, one for Lloyd, and one for the band. Can you tell Charley worshiped the ground Lloyd walked on??? The whole entire "Panther Hall" album is pure gold. Hope u have it!!

  • This is a great one. Charley Pride is one of of the best classic country muisc stars ever!!!

  • Beautiful song!love it!

  • Like it very much!
