I can hardly believe that Teresa Stratas was 45 years old in 1983 when "La Traviata" was shot. In my opinion Maria Callas and Teresa Stratas were the best in the part of Violetta. How strange but both are of Greek origin.

I very much remember seeing this film on the big screen,back in the early seventies,all these yrs later it still holds as one of the best interpretation of this oprea,Zefferelli sure did wonders with it,but what happened to Stratas after,as she seemed to disappear!...this scene always brings a lump in my throat,if Alfredo knew just how much she gave up & would love to tell him,just how things in life can get so complicated & mis-understood...Thanks for posting...
