  • thats so not true about it being genetics...... i'm asian and black people tend to get muscle so much faster because in the past they were bred to be strong and do slave labor. but anyways im asian and i use to have chicken legs a year ago all i did was jog and my legs are extremely toned now and i have huge calve muscles the secret is just to run and jog! and when you feel the burn in your legs when running keep running

  • @linnywinnie5 yea man ive noticed that running or jogging hit the calves and really makes them look cut and get bigger, have you try'd stretching them because ive noticed that helps aswell

  • great informative video

  • 6:23 Looks good if I was behind her!(;

  • i tried it .. its very affective

now i cant stand up :S

  • @MaximoMass I never said NOT to give it all you got. But you can't fight science and biology unless you wanna take unnatural measures. Our bodies are designed NOT for looks but for PERFORMANCE. You could have the scrawniest looking muscles but jump higher or lift heavier than the biggest bodybuilder. Have to accept natural genetics but still work hard to just be the best we're all naturally physically meant to be. Thanks for commenting and for watching - sparks good convo ; )

  • Thankyou so much! I've been looking for something like this for ages! :)

  • lol i have chicken legs!!!!

  • I love this video, you have a great attitude! Thanks so much for sharing :)

  • @MadFitTV thanks man for the great tips

  • woo i do these in my shower..

    my fav calf workout

  • Hey, just a question, will ankle weights help while doing these exercises? Also how about wearing them while running?

  • im sorry. did you say that the medial head of the gastrocnemius is on the outside and the lateral is on the inside? very interesting because I was taught that it was the other way round.

  • @joelgrantjones Yes I caught that after uploading and it was too late. Luckily anyone can take advantage of the workout because the average gym-goer (the main demographic who watch Made Fit TV) don't care about the scientific jargon, they just want their butts kicked - as you know already, of course, since you're a trainer, too! Happy New Year and thanks for taking the time to watch Made Fit TV and for commenting!! xo

  • Thanks so much(: I'm in highschool and I never really played sports & I just started athletics this year and I notice that every other girl that has been in athletics for a while has very toned muscles and legs and mine are.. chicken legs haha. hopefully this exercise will work for me!(:

  • i love ur body from waste down...the arms just kill the whole thing:( too much

  • @DXfan123456 Well I am fit, healthy, and happy and that's the way I am, so if you don't like it, too bad : ) Have a healthy and happy Holiday!

  • very helpful

  • Calves get huge with heavy weights like heavy straight leg calf raises 6-12 reps and seated calf raises with very high reps

  • @za1pp That sounds about right, but it also depends on your body type. For some, no amount of training can increase muscle size and shape, especially if you have a lot of Type I muscle fibers (oxygen-rich, built for endurance over power & size) typical of ectomorph body types.

  • @MadeFitTV thats true some people also have "high calves" where the calves are big but their ankles are skinny making the leg look skinny to be honest i think having better toned or muscled quads are better but people usually only see the calves when you wear shorts

  • @za1pp High calves are better than cankles, that's for sure, lol!

  • hot and intelegent i will keep an eye on madefitTV,

    ty ty

  • @RuneAnime1 : ) Thank you!

  • Yea and does it take a long time for it to reach it's full streagth

  • Ok thanks and one more question does ur calves muscle keep on growin and gettin stronger if u exercise them alot and how is the fastest way for me to start jumping higher

  • @Anwar44444 they won't necessarily get bigger, as I say in the video, but you will get stronger! Happy training : )

  • @Anwar44444 Every muscle group requires time and consistency of training to get the optimum benefits of strength and performance.

  • A very informative and honest account on building muscle. There are limitations with genetic predisposition and your knowledge gives credence to what you are saying which makes you believable. Unfortunately it's not what most would like to here. Everyone likes to dream that they can be the next Olympian.

Well done young lady. Oh, it must be said that you look sensational. This further supports your advice.

    Cheers.

  • @geoopa Thank you for your honesty, I appreciate it. I know... many people just want you to "lie" to them, but then I would not be true to my viewers. My goal is just to be as informative as possible, yet do it in a way where it gives people the power and desire to make small changes day-to-day to lead to big results. Plus, I also want people to accept their strengths and focus on the positive : )

  • She looks kinda like a dude... Except the face.

  • I only weight 110lbs, and I'm 4'11", so the camera def adds weight. I have a figure competition this Saturday, so I worked hard on my physique and am very happy with how I look- and so is my husband : )
