  • I don't understand how so many people can be so hostile to such an entertaining and great person! I honestly don't see how anyone could hate on the legendary Robert Llewellyn.

  • Interesting observation on gays having more time for creative endeavors due to their lack of family duties. Of course, it’s a generalization, as I’m sure you know. Many gays do have family responsibilities, of one kind or another. Nevertheless, your observation is a good one and not one I had really thought of before.

  • What a boring nerd! Like 1000's of gay men I get sick n' tired of people getting on their soap boxes, and trying to camouflage it, sayingthings like; "I've got nothing against gay people, in fact I've got /know lots of gay friends, but i wouldn't want to do anything 'Physical'." Meaning they wouldn't F**k 'em up the arse, BUT they would their wife/girlfriend ! What's the *UCKING difference.

  • @kpwaterloo1 Wow, who else smells anger issues?

  • @kpwaterloo1 it's quite a subtle difference really. but basically it's that when you're a gay man, you're attracted to the male body. and when you're straight, you're attracted to the female body. and as far as i can tell, one of the things that makes you want to f*ck an arse most of all is the body it's attached to. also, i think the hairiness of a blokes behind may put some straight guys off. if this wasn't obvious to you in the first place, i worry about how well you'll do in your GCSEs

  • Tis true us gays have more time. I have far too much time which just gets spent being a nerd.

However, when you get older, the time you invested in your kids will be repayed when they look after you in your dribbling years. Gay people get to an old age and struggle because they have no offspring to look after them.

  • Quite.

  • are you stephen fry?? lol

  • @nikeeweston

    Not knowingly.

  • Product placement is the only way to get revenue streams to make programmes. People can filter adverts so they need to be in the programmes. The only problem is making it not obvious.

  • You should have your children adopted!!!!

So you can edopt me after heheh. :P

I love the gay envy stuff it's so true. My best friend is a writer (not gay mind) and he single because he doesn't have the time right now to devote to a relationship.

You do amazingly well Bod, to keep a relationship, look after your kids and do all the work you do! I couldn't do that at even at my age! hahah. Top bloke.

  • you know you said you have finnished scrapheap you dont mean forever do you?(please say "no im gonna do scrapheap untill i die") oh and dont worrie about the haters i hate the haters and always thumbs down any insulting or non constructive criticism

  • Damn, there was a really hostile comment here that I wanted to reply to, about how I should have my children adopted because I obviously don't have time for them, and I clicked remove instead of reply by mistake. I never want to remove negative comments and I'm really annoyed that I did. However, if it was still there, I would say, 'you have no idea what you are talking about! I spend a great deal of time with my kids, blimey, the nerve! I love it though I won't delete anything again.

  • Robert. I love that you make these videos and that you will not sensor comments. I love that EVERYBODY has a chance to broadcast themselvesa and digibeta crew in the street is no longer a novelty. Understand your frustration RE non linear broadcasting. Scheduled inear TV is dead or dying I'm afraid. I Hard Drive record my TV selection and spool thru tv ads so revenues have to take a dip dont they? Scheduling a film by a broadcaster is a no hoper. Continue working & well done u top dad u!

  • Whoever it was probably has a tiny dick and is trying to make up for it by insulting everyone. I enjoy all your videos. You're an interesting person with a much more interesting life than mine! XD

  • Charming. I sleep like a log. It's a hereditary facial disfigurement.

  • Don't listen the Lambyiii.. the friggin nerve. Probably some loser who doesn't have a family or a fulfilling job... I think you are fantastic and you work hard, bugger to all those who want to make fun of you. you rock!

  • @bobbyllew: That's a facial disfigurement? You are too hard on yourself, sir! Disfigured, in my opinion, means that your eyes are below the line of your nostril, so every time you sneeze you risk going blind.

  • It's fantastic that you are so busy, the alternative would be dreadful, I know exactly what you mean about working to live, I work 55 hours a week, just to keep body and soul together, but often to be found at work, talking about what I'd rather be doing, or what I'd do if I won the lottery, and didn't have to work any more.

    Great video, as always

  • Homosexual time heh, that's a great theory ;D

  • Homosexual time? wow... nope not here.

  • Stephen Fry is on here...I didnt know that...off to find him, thanks.

  • I think he meant iTunes. I can't find anything on YouTube.

  • Yeah I realised later, found his podcasts via his website :) Thanks

  • Rob I should like to give you a virtual clip round the ear for that "loan shark" joke on tonights "How do they do it" episode :P

  • I don't think it has anything to do with being gay or not, it is more about choosing to have a family or not. I also don't think this dilema is restricted to any particular field. Almost everyone who has to work to support their family, finds themselves in this situation. I certainly can relate. We can't all be Steven Frye or John Barrowman.

  • I think I've got lesbian envy.

  • if your (by chance) going to do more than one red dwarf video do you think you can get any of the other cast to join in on the discution.

  • I think there are plenty of straight men that decide not to do the 'family thing'. Some people just don't want children.

  • "since i've been an adult i haven't really wanted to wear dresses"... classic!

great video keep it up :)

  • Jesus was very creative. He was in showbiz in a manner of speaking. But I'm fairly certain he wasn't gay...

  • Oh I don't know.

The whole, put the 'Bread on Your Tounge It's the body of Christ' bit always sounded a bit strange to me. They never tell you which bit of his body it's meant to be...

    (I'm So Going To Hell)

  • yay! Can't wait for the You Tube Red Dwarf special! And for goodness sake man, get some sleep, i could carry my shopping home in those bags under your eyes! haha

  • ;p You know you have a problem when play time is scheduled and work isn't. My mom would have called that "getting your priorities reversed"!

LOL OMG when your wife comes home SUCH a comment! "What 'less' women are you having a fancy for!"

  • lol - apparently gays don't have long-term parners :P I'm a gay and I have straight envy, I want to have children!

And anyway, you seem way to scared about offending people ^^

    Great video again though :)

  • Agreed

  • P.S. Why haven't you applied to become a partner yet?

  • Ha! Top class ramble there Robert!

  • I must say, you're very brave being so open about things like wearing dresses when you were young: good for you, and thanks for sharing

  • Work to Live Bob.. do you realise half your videos are apologising about not having time to make videos? 'How do they do it?' GREAT show, but are you wearing the same old gardening clothes EVERY week??? (Channel 5 - 7.30 TONIGHT) look forward to your next apology video :) lol

  • Your videos are a delight to watch!!!

You really are so down to earth.

  • Good video. It's interesting too, because I'd never really thought about that angle on it (the whole 'free time') thing - and now you've mentioned it looking at a few friends I can see it in action!

  • Im looking forward to your next video about the Kryten Mask , i rekon you should display it somewhere in the room you in on these videos so we can allways go " Oh look , it's one of Robert's old Kryten masks !!!! " , still , cant wait to see it .

Cheers , Jason [ Doctor Who One ]

  • Well i will be watching scrap heap

and cant wait for red dwarf more answers about red dwarf

  • arthur lowe once sid, whatever they offer ou,do it! you could pass some along my way of course lmao!

  • cant wait to see the thing on red dwarf! :) cheers for the update!

  • I thought your comment about compromises very fascinating. I personally made a decision not to pursue acting/voice over work some years ago to spare my family the insanity it would cause. I love my wife and children dearly and felt the time and hours and dedication it would take would take me too much away from them. I applaud you for the balance. Not many people do it well. Can't wait for the RD vid! Cheers!

  • Thanks for the heads up about Scrapheap!

  • He's so charming in a slightly disheveled way! Completely honest, something that seems to have disappeared in today's society. Would have loved to have seen Kryten in a dress, the mechanoid was missing a dress. Maybe the 5,000 series owned one! Can't wait for the 'restoration' project.

    Hugs and Health

  • Kryten did wear a dress in Quarantine. They all did, a rather nice red and white checked gingham number

  • that was funny, but was for a gag that wasn't specific to him! i mean a stand alone, Kryten-esk dress, like his maid outfits, only better. don't you agree?

    xxx

  • Of course the worst thing is when you HAVE to work a lot over a period of time (like I've just done myself) you start to feel guilty for making family etc come 2nd....

  • You are one of a kind, Bobby! Only you could talk about cross-dressing and loving your family in the same speech, and come off as commendable. :)

Don't work yourself too hard, we don't want you getting ill!

    .x.Sess.x.

  • i know exactly what you mean about the time thing, i used to make youtube videos almost on a daily basis then all of a sudden life got really busy and now i barely have time to even turn on the computer!!

    good vlog and very interesting!

    thanks.

    laura.

  • Quite a nice video, Robert. Thank you for sharing. - May I ask what type of camera and editing software you use?

    Regards,

    Am

  • Lovely stuff, not my words, the words of shakin stevens.

  • I am looking forward to your book, and I hope you post a video about its availability when it gets published.
