  • Thanks soooo much! I'm extremely pale, like paper white pale, plus I have dark dark dark brown hair so it just makes my skin look even more pale so thank you for this video :) I always have problems when applying foundation because they make my face look much tanner than my body and it looks awful.

  • you said you are very very very pale.

Now i feel so bad because i must look like a ghost ò.ó

  • @victoriabp it does say that I am wearing fake tan in the video and the foundation info is just advice I only did the video as I got so many emails asking me to.

  • thanks for this, great video!

  • Hi Sarah, great video. :) Could you please tell me how the shades you mention compare to MAC's NW/NC 15? For me, these are too darnk and too pink/yellow.

  • @Ayla888 I can't use Mac foundation when I don't wear fake tan as they are too orange so I am not sure x

  • Hey Sarah! Im a red head and very pale, what kind of foundation would suit me as I find the foundations I use have slight orange undertones. Have you got any ideas? :)

  • Just wanted to say thank you!! i've allways found it hard to find a foundation to match my REALLY pale skin, just wanted to say that I thought your video was amazing!!!

  • I'm pale and neutral too! :) My perfect match (colorwise) is YSL Teint Resist 01 - but the coverage is too light IMHO

  • The video was so helpful! I got the Bourjois foundation and it works so well, thank you so much!

  • I also heard MUFE Mat Velvet's lightest shade is pale too.. I have to try that Dior one! Thanks for the heads up -I hope Sephora carries it :-D

  • I wanted longwearing foundation, but I am quite pale too :-( I tried Double Wear in Shell & it is too dark, I've tried ColorStay (both combo & mousse) in Ivory - and I can make it kind of work - but it is a little bit too dark.. L'oreal's Infallible in Ivory oxidizes and becomes very dark & orange, Almay TLC is the best match - but still a bit too dark.. Now for mineral makeup - Everyday Minerals & Alima Pure are the best. I'm going to try NC15 at MAC tomorrow & I am neutral too. :-/

  • I am a neutral fair skin too! Hard to find foundations! A good cream I have found is graftobian in bombshell..i wonder what foundation you would suggest for a bride..as I'm getting married in july.. :) thanks!

  • @Jett1n I would definitely recommend airbrush foundation, if you can find a makeup artist doing airbase, dinair or temptu that would be fab as it will really last for ages x

  • oh my god it is SO hard to find a pale foundation! Cosmetic brands think that EVERYONE is tanned, grrrrrr!

  • i live in the UK what colour foundation do we usee?

  • Hey I have the forever foundaion from dior! But I think looks a kind of red! What do you think?? I don't want to look like a tomato!^^

  • Thanks for such a helpful video! I always struggle to find pale foundations, but the one I'm using at the moment I really like - it's the Max Factor Lasting Performance in 100 Fair (Liquid foundation, medium-full buildable coverage) and I would recommend it to those on more of a drugstore-friendly budget. Thanks for all these other suggestions - I will definitely check them out when I'm looking for a new foundation! xxx

  • Thxs, im whiter then u; and its such a hassle trying to make my makeup look good lol

  • @luomas2 I know what you mean, as mentioned I had fake tan on in the video, as it was spring/summer so I am normally extremely pale. You can buy a mac foundation in pure white which is handy to mix with any pale foundation that is the right tone but just makes it that bit paler x

  • I had the maybelline foundation and it was a really good colour but I kept getting breakouts :S dont know if thats just me

  • @yourcherryybomb oh that is a shame I haven't had that myself but perhaps you are allergic to an ingredient x

  • I bought the light porcelain foundation some months ago, but I want to know which foundation is the lightest one you could possibly get?

  • @Moviestar20 You can get a pure white foundation from Mac Pro...if that's what you want I suppose!

  • @sarahlittlecutie Unfortunately, its what I have to get.

No other foundations really match my shade perfectly.

  • @Moviestar20 there is one by Dainty Doll which is a mousse foundation that I used to have to use in the winter, but I just gave up and started using fake tan as it was so much hassle! xx

  • @sarahlittlecutie

You know I've tried so many fake tans in the past that have turned me a very ugly shade of orange I gave up lol

I'm not 100% happy with my skin at all, and especially in the summer when everyone has sun kissed skin whilst I look ghostly, and when I use the light porcelain foundation from maybelline, it doesn't match the rest of my neck and body because its so dark on me. I seriously think I'm one of the palest people in the world lol so much hassle...

  • @Moviestar20 I am sure you look great though, like Dita's porcelain skin x

  • @sarahlittlecutie Thanks, I'm glad atleast one model has my shade of skin, otherwise I might have been totally withdrawn from society.

Young people my age, wish they where tan and blonde, but Dita has dark hair and light skin just like I do as she stated that you dont have to be tan to be beuatiful and I respect those words. Thankfully, she's not even blonde because both of us have dark hair making our skin stand out that extra bit more. I think I should just learn to accept my skin! lol

  • @Moviestar20 I think her hair is supposed to be naturally blonde? It suits her dark more though x

  • @sarahlittlecutie Yea, it gives her that 1940s look.

Especially what she does to her hair :]

  • @Moviestar20 hey i have that same problem and it sux cuz u can c blemishes and imperfections better :/ but u arent alone one thing u should try using cover girl and olay simpply ageless use ivory its extremely pale and if it is a bit dark for u just get maybeline powder its rlly light and makes the makeup ur skin tone :) it works but u got to blend it rlly good or it looks chalky

  • I agree with you with bands not understanding the colors - most pale foundations are too yellow and my skin for example has a more 'grayish' tone it's neither yellow and especially not pink, i found one good foundation that was just perfect from Make Up Store the shade is called Milk, its even less yellow then Bourjois 51

  • @aura0noir That's a good tip. Also Mac pro do a face and body foundation in pure white I recently found so you can mix that with any foundation to make it a bit paler x

  • @aura0noir im not sure if this helps, but have you tried BB Cream before?

It's like an asian version of tinted moisturiser. The reason why I asked was because I have tried BB cream, and it left my skin with a slight gray-ish tone..where I was more pink toned, i have warm undertones..hence, didnt really work out for me:S

  • : < i try and get the like palest in between foundation color whatever and its too yellow then i try 2 get the lightest foundation and its too white and i try 2 get the more pink foundation and its way too pink i should try mixing?? lol i mean like porcelain works well but needs more pink to it :l

  • @CuteChick344 I would defiitely try mixing, depends what coverage you are looking for which one I would recommend but if you get a neutral shade and the pink shade then you can mix them together to get just the right amount of pink. I just fake tan and match the foundation to that these days as it's so warm outside but in the winter I definitely mix if I need to make things darker or lighter.

  • @xilovemusicbabyx I think we should all do what makes us happy :P

  • @vintagesugar82 I have the exact same problem! The palest foundations are never pale enough, they make me look like I have a tan! LOVE manic panic virgin white powder! I also buy the liquid version and mix it with their moonlight liquid foundation to make it really pale.

  • after searching for make up for pale skin, i come across this video, and im subbing! This helped so much xx

  • @X0TheGossipGirlX0 Thanks x

  • Such a useful video! I'm neutral and pale too and I often find drugstore foundations turn me into an instant oompa loompa, even in the lightest shades! Thanks

  • @EyeliningObsessions Thanks xx

  • Love the video, and I have really pale skin but I have the worst problem finding foundation. Heres a tip for people with foundation problems: Buy a lighter foundation than your actual skintone because believe it or not, when the foundation settles in, it goes slightly darker, so if your foundations lighter then it should match you skin tone.

    Thanks sarahlittlecutie good reviews. x

  • @LouGeoTimes thanks for the tip hun, I think with oily skin it's the oxidation of the foundation that makes it darker once applied right? xxx

  • @sarahlittlecutie I think so yeah, but then again im not a skin genius :P thanks again for this vid! xx

  • nice pronounciation (:

  • @VegetarianVampire1 Thanks hun

  • @vintagesugar82 No offense taken, because as I mention right at the start of the video, I am wearing more than one coat of fake tan, so I actually have no foundation on at all during this video. You can see when I hold the bottles up to the screen, the liquid in the jar is much whiter than my face, and that is my natural colour, however I review a lot of fake tans on my blog so I often test them out as I had done on this day x

  • I'm very pale and don't want shimmering foundation either, so thanks for this!

  • Yeah I Use The Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid In Light Porcelain 004 Too . It is Luminous , And I Found That Its A Nicer Colour Then The Ivory 010 , Which Is More Orangey :/ I Think It Definitly Needs To Be Set With Powder If You Want It To Last Though

    ..x

  • i still haven't found a foundation that doesn't make me look orange, flakes or just doesn't work... the only one i've found is supposed to be a whitening powder -_- and you can only buy it for 30 Australian dollars from a goth shop. waaaay to expensive!

  • Have you tried the ones from the video?

  • how do you apply the korres ginger and vitamins? I have the same thing and I want to love it, but it always looks so flakey on me. i have tried patting it on with my fingers, but i can't get it blended that way. Just curious, thanks.

  • I just rub mine in with my fingers, the consistency of mine is just like a tinted moisturiser. I do always use a primer though - usually laura mercier oil free so maybe that helps?x

  • thank you! your so helpful! x

  • I have a bit of an obsession with foundations atm :) just wondered how did you find out what shade you were with the Nars sheer glow? thank you! x

  • I was colour matched at a Nars event, I think Siberia is lighter than Dauville so perhaps that would work if you are paler toned than me xx

  • Hey there...I just tried the Dior Forever foundation in shade 010 and (believe it or not) it was too dark for me! I LOVED the stuff, but I had to return it b/c it was too dark for my skin. I have a more pink/pale complextion (if that makes sense), so if you have any recommendations that would be helpful I'd appreciate it.

  • The Giorgio Armani foundations, Revlon Colorstay foundation and the foundation from Sleek MakeUP could work, I wear Giorgio Armani LSF #2 so perhaps #1 would work well for you, also the revlon colorstay foundation (palest one) is the one I believe that Natalya from filthygorgeousmakeup wears and she has rather porcelain skin? Hope this helps! x

  • thanks for replying :) your video was really helpful as i'm pale too..the Dior foundation looks good, might have to try it! :)

  • If you ask for a sample sachet in 010 they should give you one, don't let them colour match you as the lighting in a department store is so blimming orange you end up looking orange! xx

  • Great Video! Just wondered what shade are you in Mac foundation?

  • Thank you :) I don't wear Mac foundation as they don't do a shade that matches my skin. NC15 looks orange on me and NW15 makes me look way too pink x

  • Does sleek offer good coverage?

  • Medium coverage, not thick and not sheer. I don't have any scars or spots really so I don't know how it would cover them but in texture it feels like foundation mixed with smashbox photofinish primer creamy but a bit silicone-y!

  • great vid!! thanks for doing it, I'm very pale and forever on the look out for pale enough shades!! So this is a big help for ideas of things to try!

    Thank you!x

  • Thanks, I know its such a pain, I am sure really dark skinned girls have the same problem too as its such a nightmare getting the right tone even if it is pale/dark enough! x

  • Fabulous video darling :)

I think you're so funny and natural on camera. Makes me smile!

I use both erase paste and boing in no.2 and highly rate them.

Keep up the gorgeous videos doll.

Milly xx (yes your Twitter bud)

  • Haha thanks hun, I had to buy both as well, even though I like booing - erase paste came out in the shop and I was like erm SOLD! xx

  • Great vid - I hope you like the bourjois!

  • I do I wore it today and yesterday, doesn't last as long as I had hoped but that was the only thing really x

  • ooo we use the same colour in sheer glow :) Really fancy trying that Bourjois one too :)

  • Do you find it bizarrely yellow as well? It's probably the darkest out of my 'pale person' foundations x

  • no not really seems a pretty good match to my skin - I am surprised thats what colour you use because you always look a lot paler than me - there are paler shades I think - I totally agree with you about the pump though it needs one!

  • Yeah the paler shades are just too pink for me:(

  • Thanks so much for this. Im super pale and a lot of foundations i try make me look orange even if i get the lightest shade.

Thanks for the ideas, im deffo gonna check some of these foundations out.

With the Bobbi Brown concealers, do you have to use a concealer on top of the corrector or would it be ok with out?

    x

  • The concealer corrector is really only necessary if you have really dark circles (like me) I work very long hours and have very thin undereye skin so thats probably why. You could just put one thin coat of the concealer on, leave it to dry then put another thin coat over the top x

  • How does the Maybelline dream satin liquid foundation work for normal/combination skin!? Plz i really need help!!

  • I would say that this would work really well, I have dry skin and use it and my friend from work uses it and has oily skin and she is the one who recommended it to me, just make sure to set it with a powder where you get oily like perhaps your chin or nose x

  • I use dream satin liquid and I have oily combination skin too x

  • you look amazing and your skin is stunning, i've noticed recently you look so radiant in particular!x

  • Thanks hun x

  • Great video - love your honesty!

I found this video to be really helpful, tnaks for the reviews :) xx

  • Thank you for such a nice comment, i appreciate it x

  • such a great video I dont know why you nearly didnt upload it!!!!! 5 stars hun!! xx

  • Lol i was going to private it but then I just thought - sod it, if people don't like the sound quality then they can just send me a new camera if iti bothers them that much, it cost me £129 and I had to save up to buy it so sod it!

  • No its a really great video! very informative!! and the sound is fine, i have to turn my volume up more than on some vids but thats no probs!! people are waaay too picky! xxxxxx

  • I do need to practice speaking louder, maybe that will help...who knows this video lark is difficult!
