Eyeshadow Finishes Pt 1 (MAC)

Is it absolutely important to apply a mixing medium or a cream eyeshadow before these eyeshadows to help them stick better? 'Cause I've bought many M.A.C. brushes, unfortunately I find that some colors are easier to apply with a sponge.

Strangely enough some eyeshodows don't fall into their stated categories: I'd have never guessed that Club is a Satine. I also have other examples... So it makes it more difficult when choosing shades...

Matte2 is more flat matte. From what I gathered, they name it that because the only way to describe it is double the matte than a regular matte.

I think Matte2 has a slightly higher colour pay-off than the plain matte. I noticed that Typographic(Matte2) seems to have a slightly higher colour pay-off than Carbon(Matte).

I have that problem too with honesty, it was fine at the beginning and then it stopped. I use a regular shadow brush. I think I tried a smudge brush once as well.

i'm a huge fan of matte too! i don't like the makup to be all shiny and glittery cause too me that is just plain cheap... :)

plus i think it's harder to find makeup without any shimmer/pearl/glitter in it (if your buying other stuff than mac's) ...so using matte products kinda makes the makeup "rare" :)

Hi Koren! I was just wondering if you had any tips regarding eye makeup (colors, techniques... the whole shebang) for filipinas (coz I have this really good feeling you're filipino as well). I really like cream shadows alot but I have VERY oily lids. So, unless I use Urban Decay Primer Potion first, cream shadows crease on me.

Buy the MAC paint pots because they're good & I have oily lids too. I can't do a deep smoky eye without the paint pot underneath! LOL

The MAC swatches on their website are so misleading! I went to look at Sushi Flower expecting a soft mauvey pink. And what do I end up seeing? A bright, bright, bright pink.

I giggled at 'brun' because it is the phonetic pronunciation for the German word 'braun' which means 'brown'.

Sad but true...I go to Ebay and search for MAC colors there because the swatches tend to be truer...also, I like to wait until other youtubers do vids on colors I'm interested in. (I don't have a MAC store nearby and have to buy online.)

I find that the finishes for MAC pigments are different from their eyeshadows. Do you have a way to get beautiful colors like Gold mine, Rose to have that eyshadow finish instead of having the foiling effect? I would love to wear those colors to work, but they are too eye catching

I think that Matte2 is ultra pigmented...even more so than MAC's regular matte formulas.
