So few of these fish are left. It is a shame you killed it. I wish Norwegians could come to learn to really respect their heritage, with the rivers being almost empty now. I know the salmon farming is the by far the biggest killer, but to kill the remaining wild fish that make it into the rivers to spawn is doing insane damage at the moment. Tana, Neiden, side rivers, main stream, there are no reported fish spawning. Dunno where this was, but the situation is bad in any Norwegian river now.

And it is indeed an atlantic salmon, all you need to do is to google "Ken Jøran Grøtte Pedersen+sjøørret" and you`ll find the article with the results from the analysis.

And it was caught in the river Lakselv.

Nice fish, but It's a shame they kept it. That my friend is a salmon which has been in the river for quite some time, hence the dark colour. It was probrally terrible eating and keeping it, they denied it the chance to spawn.

omg, it was a sea trout. if you have seen the rest of the movie they chekt it up with a skin test. and EVERY BODY alawys want you to release the fish. wtf is up with taht american shit. so please learn your fish and your place. Guys, this is not a salmon. Salmon do not have that much of black dots. And salmons dont get bigger on its height, and dont look so damn fat when its big.

i've bin fishing salmon and trout for many years and this is defenetly not a salmon, this is a sea trout, the salmon is not that dark, and with different spots on the back. this is a sea trout, beautiful fish thoug, but the guy on the camera is on something hehe.....crazy norwegians, greeting from an icelandic fisherman!

It`s a salmon...The fishermen thought it was a seatrout, but a test revealed that it was indeed a third time salmon spawner. When spawning for a second, or thired time, the atlantic salmon developes many of the trademarks of seatrout, like moore spots, smaller tail(because of tear and wear when spawning).

Fantastic example of a sea-trout, disappointing example of behaviour after landing, especially from fly-fishermen. I hope that if I ever am put in a similar situation that I'll have the presence of mind to still behave responsibly.
