Is it that strange that an easy overview/repetition is shown to the students before they start to dig in deeper? Yes, I did learn complex figures before university, however I am quite sure that if I had been given the exam from university before university I would have failed although the first lesson was nothing I hadn't seen before.

To everyone who thinks this is a simple issue for University, Complex numbers, and every other math sub division for that matter, was taught in high school however it does not go away one you leave, it is taught and used a lot of different places getting more complex as it goes further..... at university you will use complex numbers in a very different way to when you did at high school
