Just built myself a computer with a near new MB and PSU and it wont go past the CMOS page, it just gives me the "start windows normally" page and I choose every one and I get the same result. Used all my HDD's and its corrupted one of them. One other HDD just had WinXP on it and it still doesnt want to work -_-

@ResistiAnce Oh boy I got the same problem too. I dl audacity lame and seems fine. Was using it for a while then I left the computer on to have dinner. An hour later came back the screen was black. So thinking that it was in sleep mode I tried rebooting it but nothing happen! My keyboard won't even light up so there is no way I can even press the F8 to try to get into safe mode. I'm now using a second computer which is also having similar problem but at least it kept going to blue screen and i

Borrow a vista or win7 disc from someone and have it repair your installation from the last good backup it did. If this doesn't work, use an ubuntu cd in live mode, move your user file to another hard drive by usb, and then do a reinstall.

if you have access to another computer, download and burn ubuntu to a cd on it. Then boot your computer from the ubuntu cd and choose the live or try option. If it boots up successfully then then it's a corrupted or infected hard drive, if it fails to boot then check ram. If you don't want to burn ubuntu to a cd check ram by unseating it then reseating it.

Thats why you should let windows make you a recovery CD or keep your installation cd if you bought one.Don't bitch if it's your fault and you can't fix it because you can't afford a new windows CD.If you can't get as far as F8 than your OS is fucked.

@jwul28 ahh shit that happens to me.. try repair it using a windows orig cd.. and make sure that in the bios settings set it into 1st boot device is CD then Hard Disk. im not a tech but it might help u.

depending on your BIOS, you may in fact get a different boot menu which simply shows devices you can boot from. (HDD, DVD, FLOPPY)

In that case you want to hit Escape, and be spamming the F8 key immediately as you do.

You will then get the safe mode menu shown in the video

@skaterz500 It could be a different hotkey. Try F11 F12 or F9 .. sometimes even delete works. Depends on operating system.
