it is dangerous to be upside down for a long time- but it was not visually impressive because he had to take breaks (which was necessary or he dies). i think he did this because he could not do the real dive of death- diving on water from a very high altitude which he talked about doing before.

okay first of all david blaine is the best illusionist of all time and he also likes to push the human body to its limits he was hanging upside down for 60 hours, his eyes swelled up, his feet numbed , its like a living hell, he stayed in water for a week and the almost beat the world record of holding your breath, he stood in a block of ice, and his normal street magic is amazing but its good to know he also does real things to test his limits and he does great illusion

David Blaine is not even close to the best illusionist of all time. Houdini did more impressive stunts at a time when he couldn't take advantage of modern technology. Also, Blaine's "stunts" are always fabricated. He took breaks every hour during this one. In every one of his stunts, the camera goes off and he is relieved of continuing for an extended period of time. Blaine has never actually performed an illusion without help from the crowd or someone else who is hidden in the rafters.
