What did they expect? They charged at the police en-masse and are now complaining that the police defended themselves with non-lethal weapons. If a policeman was knocked over, he may well have been trampled, possibly killing or seriously injuring him. The police should be given more authority to use force on criminals, or for that matter protesters who do this kind of thing. Its quite depressing when you see the police on TV having bottles chucked at them and having to just stand and take it.
