@MojoGuitarPlayer There should be more like you, Mojo...When I turned 24 and my dad could no longer write me off as a dependent on his tax returns, that was the end (even though I never lived with him and my mom supported me, for the most part)....
Wish her the best...There should be a stringent licensing exam before people are allowed to have children...
Or a more equitable societal safety net...allocation of resources for housing, jobs, healthcare, education, in lieu of padding corporate pockets, ect...complex issue...(regulation of big business/banks would be a macro prophylactic)
@Didgenesus I am wondering about your intelegents? Everyone does has a family member or fiends that could help her out. As young as she is, college is the best alternative and makes sense to further a future for a better career and a much better life than being homeless. If her family would take her in and make her attend college, then she would have a much better future. College is a second chance in life.
Best advice to her. In this economy, don't focus on College unless you are going for a field which absolutely mandates it, (e.g. medical field, legal field, etc), and you are fairly certain you can get a job in that field after college. College is driving so many into financial ruin unnecessarily! I'm not against education, but education should also come with some reservation and caution. Jobs make money. About 90% of jobs require no higher education.
What has happened to her family? Family members and friends should help each other out. Since she is so young, she should attend college, along with getting a grant to help pay for college and living expenses. A college degree is way to a better future.
Are you mentally ill? I'm just asking because you seem to have a very consistently simplified view of the complexities of human nature, contemporary society and how things in general work.
How many homeless folks have you talked to. Do you know how many have degrees, certifications, years of experience and are actually not on drugs, nor do they have a mental condition? Pound some concrete, keyboard warriors.
@Di0genesus "Are you mentally ill? I'm just asking because you seem to have a very consistently simplified view of the complexities of human nature, contemporary society and how things in general work." - I agree. People like that are by and large very sheltered so they have the luxury to think the way they do because of THEIR life circumstances or else they are sociopathic. Let some horrible, life changing shyte happen to them, and they will expect the whole world to join in their misery.
@HappyHooker83 I've recently tried to help folks who've been middle class all their lives until recently, and it's exactly the case. They see the poor as "dregs who don't appreciate all those readily available handouts" until they themselves become poor and realize there's precious few Samaritans out there. I offer what I can and it's not good enough because I can't sustain their former lifestyle. Some former middle class folk that they're owed my assistance and sympathy.
@Di0genesus TRUE! You see in this current economic fallout that is exactly the case: All these formerly middle class douches who would of looked their noses down on even ME or the folks on here are now being forced to and relegated to living in their vans and cars while the cops who they FORMERLY thought were here to protect them are now hunting them down while they try to survive, just as I and these folks do. It is sad and I hope the imbeciles passing judgement don't end up here!

You are correct. I have learned to see the world thru your filter. It's the fault of the starving Africans that they just refuse to eat.
