@MilitarysBestPilot Both front occupants can operate the Q via two pads located on the left sides of the foot wells. Next to those pads are the air horn pads as well. Most officers usually let the driver operate the Q at their own discretion.
Outstanding driving!!!!! great video!!!! The only comment I have is that siren box needs to be closer to the operator - I don't like that reaching during driving.
@fireman3130 Hey man! You sure can. Glad you like it enough to put it on FB. Wished there was something more exciting to see when we got on scene though.
@JuzG85 Thanks! You guys have features on your rigs that we would like to have as well. We always get nasty thunderstorms during the middle of summer here in Georgia. Nowadays it's almost a matter of when and not if you'd become involved in a traffic accident while enroute to a call. Standing on that federal Q sure gets everyone's attention though.
@dieselfrdchikn thank you for the quality video mate, I do get a bit jealous sometimes when I see the quality of the trucks in the states they are truly beautiful rigs :)
@aussiefire123A Though a bit long, I'm real glad you like the video my friend. It's always a pleasure to see generous responses from our counterparts in Australia. Thanks for watching!
@aussiefire123A Thanks for watching my friend. You're way too kind. It would truly be a real pleasure to visit Australia some day to learn new things from our professional counterparts there.
what the driver is showing there is a wonderful response, save fast and splendid ! wowthe driver knows what he is doing, god bless that engine and the crew on every run ! greez Chris, FDNY
This is amazing how many people I'm watching you drive past that are NOT moving for the sirens and lights. This is my biggest pet peeve. We nearly lost an engine and two FF's the other day because as we were making a turn with the lights and sirens on some guy thought he could squeeze in and sped up to get past us, nearly totaled the engine and would've probably killed himself in the process. Definitely a "near mis" thank God.
Regarding the hair issue, the local fire chief has a beard bigger than Santa Clause's, and hasn't shaved it at least 20 years. Seems like it would interfere with SCBA.
You people have problem with his hair? ... What the hell? Honestly, whats your problem? ... As long he does his job great (And he does according to this video) its okay. I dont know, what should public dislike on longer hair?
Thanks for your response, I wasn't having a go at you as a driver, from what I have seen you are obviously a good considerate driver, a good deal better driver than some I have seen in the many cab ride videos posted. In terms of personal appearence I think how an individual looks (proper uniform/PPE) goes a long way towards giving the right impression to the public, the people we serve. I apologise if I offended you, my comment was more aimed at your FD's policy. 'I am cool'.
@dnegaf I'll certainly agree with you as well. A professional appearance in our field goes a very long way. I was definitely "pushing it" back then. I apologize to you sir. Telling you to lighten up was uncalled for.
I am grateful for your comments and I do thank you for watching these videos.
Great video, The driver/operator demonstrated excellent responsibility while responding to this incident. I try to review most of the response videos and this one is the Best One that I've seen.
@Patches459 You're way way too kind... To my department's credit, we're all trained to operate our emergency apparatus as such. I really appreciate your comments.
The guy driving is he the only driver with that fire department as he always seems to be the driver, also if he was part of my crew he would have been told to get a haircut long before it reached the state it is in now, not a very good advert for a member of a professional organisation.
@dnegaf We have over 620 firefighter/EMTs in our organization who are all qualified professional relief drivers. My haircut fell within the guidelines of my department for which ours is obviously far more relaxed than yours...
FINALLY, LETS MAKE THIS CLEAR. These videos are NOT an advertisement for anything. These are nothing more than just fire engine cab ride videos. You really ought to learn to lighten up...
@BOHEMIONASF Hey! Thanks so much for the compliment. It's not my intention to show off any of my driving techniques. I just wanted to take everyone on a fire engine ride!
You used an 8 megapixel Canon? I got a Nikon S3000 for my birthday! 12 megapixel camera! Doesn't shoot HD video tho, sadly. :( but it takes good quality videos and photos!
@deathmasta455 Yeah, my S80's an old old camera. Yours is no slouch at 640 x 480 / 30fps. Nikon's are real excellent shooters. Just be sure to capture your videos at it's highest settings. Have fun Man!
@dangerjp Thanks, glad you like it! I use an old 2004 Canon 8 megapixel S80 recording video at full HD (1024x768). Nah, got nothing exotic by any means.. . I just duct tape the camera to our thermal imager's charging base that happens to be conveniently located in the right spot. Good luck with your own setup! Tell me how it goes...
@TheEMS41 Thanks for watching. And thanks for the props brother! You FDNY guys are what we all want to grow up to be. Godspeed to you my friend.. Petey B, Cobb Co Engine 2-5.
I wonder when you small towners are going to realize that electronic sirens have NO place on fire apparatus? Have some respect for the fire dept. Respect the song.
Man that is some good driving.... getting all those green lights too... nicely done!!! unless u got those white lights ... changing the lights for ya... but it was a great job..
@hotfuzzbass Nah, turned out that we didn't have a fire at that location. What had happened was someone in the neighborhood had called 911 reporting a fire because of all the smoke in the area. Aparently, all that smoke was a result of another housefire in an adjacent neighborhood.
Great vid and just wanted to say stay safe out there as well. Chicago FD lost 2 of their own this morning battling a fire. So be safe and careful. Keep up the good work
@jrmywbrwr Hey thanks very much. I really appreciate your kind comments and I'll certainly keep those Chicago firefighters in mind as well. Take care my friend.
Wow ! that was quite the run, I'm a member of Halifax Regional Fire in Nova Scotia, big city fire departments dont get runs quite this long. Nice driving.
@EightOneZero Thanks! It's always a pleasure to receive comments from other fire guys out there. The storms had gotten so bad that day that every nearby unit were away on calls. We were heading to territories 17-25 km out from our own. Normal response times for our units average around 4 minutes. You're very fortunate to work in such a beautiful region. I trust you don't get the same kind of nasty electrical storms as we do in July.
@DieselFrdChikn Not exactly storms like that, we will often get Hurricane force winds. The biggest kind of calls we've had in the last few years are major hurricane calls and major forest fire calls... lots of everything in between =).
