But Bush addressed the nation, essentially proclaiming, that the ENTIRE mission of this war was accomplished, not just the mission of this one ship. Rest assured, I have nothing against US service members, who perform their duty, no matter which administration is in power at any given time. And they pay for their duty AFTER their service, unlike politicians, for whom warfare is a revolving door for profit.

By May 2, 2003, an Insurgency in Iraq was not even a thought in DC. At this time major Combat Operations were complete and the Iraqi Army was Defeated. However in early 2004, when thousands of Foreign Fighters started pouring into Iraq to fight us; that threw a wrench in our game plan, which grew into the Iraqi Insurgency.

We supplied him with the weapons, and when he went after the Shiites, the US government abandoned the Shiites, despite solemn promises to the contrary. The entire notion  "don't ask what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country' is entirely abstract, since a country is comprised of individual citizens, which make up the country in the first place. The health care legislation is the greatest redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor and middle classes of any legislation passed since the 1960s. The health care bill is a major liberal accomplishment, even if it is imperfect, and gives us a foothold on universal coverage from which we can build and expand. It's only a matter of time before we have a public option, and eventually there is a good chance we can convert to a single payer system. This was just the first necessary step.
