To answer one of the commenters - they use ceremonial SKS rifles with nickel-plated metal parts and bayonet, with stock made of valuable wood and laquered. In addition, the ceremonial role of the SKS is underscored with the fact that it is no longer used in a combat capacity.

Nowhere near as impressive as the Americans. The way these guys hold their rifles looks very stupid. They looked like idiots going up the stairs. When they do their little goose stepping they are not in sync, and their legs all go up to different heights making their walk look stupid. It looks more like dancing and less like marching.

The Americans move smooth, their movements are well timed, precise, smart and sharp. There is no comparison here.

I'm pretty sure the US use the M1 Garand.

im going to say the old guard are more professional. not turning down the russians, just that the U.S Armys Old Guard look way more decent and dicepline. These guards are abit sloppy

It's a Russian thing I guess. Even during the Cold War Russian soldiers always looked a bit sloppy. They're Russians, not Prussians :P
