Yes, the Lakers have lost in the playoffs and been eliminated, because they cannot win it every year, then it would be too obvious. He was not alone. The bigshots in the league office are connected and getting paid, and so are many refs. It's big business, big money. Cheating happens all the time in the nba, and the small-market underdog teams never get love by the league, especially if they don't have a superstar or 2.
