@Bksbest21 Slim....FYI I am not Dominican but......The one drop rule was something that was pushed by the Euros no doubt but it was used more as a classification supremacist tool. It was not used as a unifying thing. Many Dominicans just like many of OUR OWN PEOPLE were taught to hate, despise, and suppress their African ancestry. We didn't start to come to grips with ours until the late 60's-early 70's. My own grandddaddy who I loved dearly was a "Colored" man until the day he died.

@palmares77 it was very much used as a unifying thing which is obvious seeing as how one drop meant you were black period point blank...I dont know any black Americans that hate their African ancestry beside those that "passed" or were/are uncle toms, and actually the black pride movement began in the 1920s, before then blacks were very much in-tune to who they were dont be fooled by the propaganda you need to know all the forms and shapes they take...
