This presentation is just unbelievably disrespectful and extremely dumb. freud is one of the most important, succesful and awesome painters at the present. those ppl are just there because its soo intellegent and so high-class and fancy to "like" and "understand" art. aaaaaahhhh disgusting. sorry, i just had to get this off my chest.
Another inferno of vanities. These people don't know what they are witnessing, even if they are only witnessing each other. I've been to so many openings where the "art aficionados" stand in groups, directly in front of the paintings, talking at "sit-com' depth. It used to infuriate. Now it only numbs.
:/ Next time send somebody who knows something about art, so we don't have to listen about this fashion BS when we're looking to hear some morsels about one of the greatest living realist painters!!!!
Ugh. Just film a party full of moronic image obsessed people, don't disrespectfully drag in Lucian Freud's beautiful work as a backdrop so you seem "cultured". Avant garde... because people are wearing black. I guess when all your energy is going into a ridiculous hairstyle there's nothing left for the brain...
Agreed. Lucian himself wisely stayed away from that reporter, if you notice. The camera was too busy panning over the crowd and zooming in on their expensive shoes to notice the paintings. God, some of the people art attracts.

These people are very empty and lonely. How embarrassing for the NY Times. A chance to reflect on one of the greatest living artists and they cant even do that. how sad.
it's a freud exhibition and you talk about shoes?

pretentious - show the paintings, minus pain in the arse wainwright the others are cool enough though..

There is something beautiful and flawed in everyone. Freud lets us understand the people at the opening and ourselves.

What the Hell. Lucian Freud is the best painter!!! And this show is only about stupid People who dress-up like freaks.
Waht about the Artist and his work? Have shoes and whitewine become more important than that? Pretty sad for a NY-Times show.
