  • it's a freud exhibition and you talk about shoes?

  • This presentation is just unbelievably disrespectful and extremely dumb. freud is one of the most important, succesful and awesome painters at the present. those ppl are just there because its soo intellegent and so high-class and fancy to "like" and "understand" art. aaaaaahhhh disgusting. sorry, i just had to get this off my chest.

  • @Evillain88 Robert Lenkiewicz work was better and more articulate.

  • So New York..so vacuous..so loud..so look at me,look at me.. what a bunch of wankers..

  • it would be nice if someone who actualy understands about art presented this video

  • Another inferno of vanities. These people don't know what they are witnessing, even if they are only witnessing each other. I've been to so many openings where the "art aficionados" stand in groups, directly in front of the paintings, talking at "sit-com' depth. It used to infuriate. Now it only numbs.

  • :/ Next time send somebody who knows something about art, so we don't have to listen about this fashion BS when we're looking to hear some morsels about one of the greatest living realist painters!!!!

You just have to ask the right questions.

  • nice job. love it

  • Comment removed

  • pretentious - show the paintings, minus pain in the arse wainwright the others are cool enough though..

  • There is something beautiful and flawed in everyone. Freud lets us understand the people at the opening and ourselves.

  • the only real things here are the paintings

  • More about the Art less on the hair.

As exacerbating as the London art world is thank christ I don't live in New York.

  • I was thinking the same thing!

  • @almanacofsleep

Can we trade homes? :( I'd love to go to London

  • Oh, and the "reporters" voice is very, very grating.

  • Ugh. Just film a party full of moronic image obsessed people, don't disrespectfully drag in Lucian Freud's beautiful work as a backdrop so you seem "cultured". Avant garde... because people are wearing black. I guess when all your energy is going into a ridiculous hairstyle there's nothing left for the brain...

  • I love this crowd of commentors ...feel like i found home.

Rich fuck: "What does this painting represent monsieur Picasso?

"It represent 7 million francs Madame" P.P.

Make the lizards pay & pay.

  • irony is good but that suck anyways

  • Pathetic video. An insult to the genius of Lucien Freud.

  • No doubt, Dumb ass, (typical though of snobby trendy posers). Not much looking or talking about the art. wtf

  • This it trully bad. I mean the reporter? what the hell whas she thinking?

  • Agreed. Lucian himself wisely stayed away from that reporter, if you notice. The camera was too busy panning over the crowd and zooming in on their expensive shoes to notice the paintings. God, some of the people art attracts.

  • white wine??... cute shoes?? and Larissa... thats a Picasso painting coming to life!

  • very unrespect for Lucian Freud and his amazing works.

  • a fucking bunch of rich dicks fuck what a bad thing to happen fucking shit

  • what a rubish vid...shallow cunts that guys hair looked like a greasy bike helmet

  • "International Day of Painting now! The painters deserve this recognition..." más "International Day of Painting now! The painters deserve this recognition! See our video "Dia Internacional de la Pintura 2008". Magnolito Priego Oliver"

  • oh god this was really bad... wtf larissa haahahaha i had to watch that part a few times...

  • That guy's hair was ridiculous!

  • These people are very empty and lonely. How embarrassing for the NY Times. A chance to reflect on one of the greatest living artists and they cant even do that. how sad.

  • What the Hell. Lucian Freud is the best painter!!! And this show is only about stupid People who dress-up like freaks.

Waht about the Artist and his work? Have shoes and whitewine become more important than that? Pretty sad for a NY-Times show.

  • Few seem to agree, but the paintings really suck.

  • who is rufus wainright?

    Is he an artist?

  • he is a singer

  • Fabulous art in the hands of fecking monkeys! Lucian freud firstly is not the grandson , but te grand nephew. Americans are really uncult!

  • OMG who was that Larissa woman?? She was so fucking scary!

  • What a mess. This kind of journalism is the opposite of painting, of the practice of painting.

  • terrible terrible terrible

    this belongs in social

what a disrespect for the monumental work of one of the greatest artists of the century

subscribed to the channel before tuning in, now im rushing to unsubscribe!

  • wow, that was really shit....worst journalism ever

  • Too much noise, too much wine, too much confusion for it; more, nobody were watching to works.

    P.S. Write Lucien, not Lucian.

    Whatever....

    CIAO!
