  • Many people try to cover The Edge and fail miserably. You nailed it! Uber tutorial. Have you considered using a gate to kill the feedback while talking?

  • Great job. Any way you could send or post the preset you created for this? Really nailed it.

  • hey buddy this video is great fair play to you ive a new pod myself and im finding it hard to get this effect thanx alot u dont have any effects set up foe beautiful day would u may b u could post thanxanyway

  • dude your sick im trying so hard to get this down, i have a boss dd3 idk what to set it at

  • Wow, Sam. This video is from awhile back. I didn't know you had it up on YouTube.

  • I have that same POD XT Live.

    Great tutorial!

  • Can u do 1 just playin the whole song? Thanx

  • Good explanation. I have a full version (and multi-video tutorial) on my channel: U2GuitarTutorials

  • its like a 6/8 polyrythm beat over the 4/4 beat of the song. so just think of a 6/8 polyrythym over the song and youve got the speed of the delay. thats it. unless you just go by how this guy does it.

tbh its better to go by polyrythyms for the delay. cuz what happens if your band decides to play it at a faster or slower tempo. then youll be fiddling about wondering what the echo speed must be. dunno why i got 2 thumbs down cuz im completely correct in what im sayin :S.

  • agreed. I made sure an gave a thumbs up because I like what you said :)

  • thanx man. By the way regardless of the method you used to acheive the effect etc, must say, it was real good lesson!

    keep rockin man!

  • strange that youre going into the whole technological side of it. like what speed the delay shoudl be etc. i just figured it out by dialing in a tempo delay going at 6/8 and just played 4/4 riff over it and got a "slapback" effect off the delay...:S lol guess i just used music theory to figure it out instead of monitoring the speed of the delay etc. lol

  • Really a good sound.

Excellent also the time of the delay .

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • grande u2 forever!

  • 2:30

  • Sir, I would like to Ass you a question.

  • mk shoot

  • I'm not really, you just bent over for awhile.

And "I would like to Ass you a question" is from Ace Ventura 1.

  • Nice Butt lol.

  • lol thanks :)

  • damn your good, im trying to learn this but suck lol. what delay are you using?

  • lol thank you but actually as usual i posted this video then got some help from another guy on youtube, and fixed some things lol this sucks compared to my new sound hahah but the delay you should use is analog with mod. a moded delay adds a reverbish kinda effect to the delayed notes. and timing is 360 ms. pretty easy when you figure it out.

  • thanks alex! regular ole' fender blackie. Mexican Made.

  • You have a good vertigo tour streets sound goin there. What kind of strat is that?

  • Thanks guys :) hope I helped your settings search Tasha!

  • beautiful!
