please reply my question.... why are some of the thompson bolt handle are on the top and not on the side?? are the one that im asking are actually the one that the gangster always used in the 19th century or its an older version...???
people always say the ppsh is better than the thompson like hurr durr durr the ppsh does more damage STFU! you cod fags i hate it when you come and blog from cod facts the thompson was way better
@rod4life123maggie the thompsons got more power, but it also has a lot smaller ammo capacity. the ppsh may not do as much damage, but it does smaller damage at a higher firing rate and ammo capacity. so overall it does more damage with 1 clip than the thompson does
i have a question, what's the real way to aim a Thompson, i've seen a lot of WW 2 games and each of them has a their own interpretation of how it's aimed, some aimed through a hole and some over it, IE: COD 2
@AdangerousRETARD Who gives a shit? Well, someone did, and so do I. That's why a question pertaining to that topic was asked and answered. In between getting video game and airsoft videos, legitimate gun videos are getting rarer...
@rktguy the "M" just stands for model. A lot of military equipment shared the designation. For example, "M1" can refer to the carbine, submachine gun,or rifle. As for a AA machine gun, I know there's a .50 BMG M2 and M3, but I've never heard of M1A1.
@LEHIGHDRIVE ...Of Course I do...Except the question, to me..is meaningless, cause any one with a brain...would google it..and respond with the right answers. Cutts Compensator was the biggest change among many others....................... :)
@LEHIGHDRIVE Of Course I know all the changes [Cutts Compensator being the Greatest change ] among others. You know if you ask this question to anyone with a brain would just Google it.
@colletorww2 The multi-piece firing pin of the M1 was supplanted by a simplified firing pin machined into the face of the bolt. The 30-round magazine became more common. In 1939, Thompsons cost the government $209 apiece. By the spring of 1942, cost reduction design changes had brought this down to $70. In February 1944, the M1A1 reached a low price of $45 each, including accessories and spare parts. By the end of the Second World War, the M1A1 was replaced with the even lower-cost M3 .
@colletorww2 Called the Thompson commando by the british who were the first to use the weapon (we sold it to them) in WWI. Differs from the 1928A2 because it didn't take drum magazines)
That more Breiviks get their hands on firearms? I find that obsession with guns amusing but also dangerous. Among the decent ones they are always a few crazy ones.
@lucius1976 A couple of things: First, my comment was posted a year ago. Second: This is what always happens after a tragedy involving firearms, they want to make a new law, an even stricter one. On average, there are 40 murders a year in Norway, the highest percent are killed by blunt force or with a sharp object, the percentage of people being killed by firearms in this country is very low. And how many are killed in car accidents a year? About 250 a year.
@lucius1976 The weapon laws is strict enough already, there will probably be some changes made(Another way to make easy money), but wanting to make it so deactivated weapons have to be registered, pay a yearly sum, having the doctor decide if you are qualified to own a firearm and regular checkups of your character is just stupid. If they are going to do that, then why not restrict the usage of knives and cars, they are the things that kill most in our country.
@lucius1976 And even if they pass the new law, there is always going to be ways for criminals to get guns, it just ruins it for everybody else. This is a free country, and the weapon law is strict as it is.
@PinkyPurply No, you're an idiot. The M1921, M1928 and its variants can accept drum MAGAZINE (note how it's not called clip) The M1 and M1A1 Thompson was modified to take box MAGAZINES (again, not a clip, just in case you forgot) exclusively.
i want one of these so bad, and after seein public enemies it didnt make it no beta, wat state did you buy yours in and how much they run for if you dnt mind me askin
Kay, I have zero knowledge on the subject of guns, so please forgive the noob question, but would this gun have been a pretty common gun to see on our soldiers in WWII?
Asking in regards to artistic reference, I have a character that's supposed to be a soldier from kind of an equivalent time period to WWII/slightly earlier, and I'm stumped on a gun type for him, any answers would be much appreciated ^^
Yes, the thompson was a very common weapon among U.S. soldiers in WW2. However, it was usually usually issued to scouts, noncommisioned officers, and paratroopers. The typical soldier in the U.S. army would have carried the M1 Garand.
I fully agree that WW2 guns are the best, after all the Governments of countries would be really pressured to churn out some really good weapons when the entire world is ripping each other up.
@swudeft actually M1 nothing does stand for something. The earliest version of the abrams before the M1A1 was the M1 this was before its production and during its developmental stages back in the 70's. Same goes for the M2 bradley. Before they had their A1 variants and they were still experimenting. The original M1 carried a 105 mm main gun instead of a 120 and pretty much sucked balls compared to its A1 variant
@emoboynumber13 both, slight barrel rise and pushes back, i got to shoot one at a machine gun shoot once, pretty easy to keep on target, i shot a mac 10 without a folding shoulder rest on it, just pistol grip, couldnt keep that damn thing on target for anything
@productionsOFkez ur right. that british butthole doesn't know that theres a fucking tank called an M1A1 Abrams. he should watch the military channel more often and learn this shit before telling people they have problems.
not sure... the gun is a bit obsolete as far as technology goes but it is still one of my favorites, if not my only favorite gun ever built. it just looks so elegant and awesome and it sounds wonderful too.
The military version had interchangable magazines with the M3 grease gun. They were used by Marines & Airborne units during WW2.I test fire one in my video-Check it out & enjoy!!
I want to get one of those semi-auto reproduction Thompsons from Auto Ordnance. Do you think getting the version with the original barrel length is really worth all the legal hoops you have to jump through? Waiting 8-9 weeks to pick it up at a class 2 or 3 gun shop after getting them to order it, and paying the BATF an additional $200 to name a few.
"The PPsh-41 was the best submachine gun in WW2..."
Ummm LOL - NO, no it was not! It was not even close to being a contender for the best weapon. In fact, it sucked so bad that it was superseded by a newer weapon in 1944.
It was prone to jam unless the magazines were specifically issued to that weapon (many had the rifle serial numbers etched). It was underpowered.
The best submachine gun of WW2 was the German MP-40. It put the PPsh-41 to shame in every category.
Actually, There is a multitude of differences between the Thompson and the Tommy. The Tommy has a fore grip, And a longer barrel. Also it uses a different sight, Because of the top mounted bolt handle. Not to mention the fact that a Tommy gun has a compensator most often. There is rarely a compensator on the Thompson.
Well it's kinda hard carrying even 2 50 round .45 ACP drums in the battlefield. Carrying 5 stick magazines sounds a lot easier, even if you have to reload more often. Not to mention weight.
why makes you so pretty? could it be you're hair? mabey your lips. picking a fight on a message board is for pretty little queers with alabaster skin.
Your brain power is as weak as the brain power of a rabbit dropping. Anything else you can say besides of "fuck" and "fucking"? They seem to be in almost every sentence you use.
I suggest you "Fuck off" and leave the Germans alone, because you're not doing great trying to sound like a tough guy... and in reality you're a 10 year old faggit with a face covered by acne.
Kill yourself-do the world a favour. And don't even reply, you've already lost this argument.
hehehe fuck you you fucking tool. congratulations you managed to beat me on a youtube argument hahahaha i'm so fuckin bored i just like sayin stupid shit on here to see what arse hole rimming wankers like you say back you will never beat me at a argument because i'm always to lazy to ever argue back. so fuck you fucking special

Yes, it has a round drum magazine. It wasn't commonly used in World War II though.
amj445 2 years ago
Only the 1928A1 and previous models like the 1921 can accept the drums. So the M1A1 can not use em
qwastic 2 years ago
it's gay they didn't make them to accept the drums..
Nza420 2 years ago
Well it's kinda hard carrying even 2 50 round .45 ACP drums in the battlefield. Carrying 5 stick magazines sounds a lot easier, even if you have to reload more often. Not to mention weight.
