@rktguy the "M" just stands for model. A lot of military equipment shared the designation. For example, "M1" can refer to the carbine, submachine gun,or rifle. As for a AA machine gun, I know there's a .50 BMG M2 and M3, but I've never heard of M1A1.

@lucius1976 The weapon laws is strict enough already, there will probably be some changes made(Another way to make easy money), but wanting to make it so deactivated weapons have to be registered, pay a yearly sum, having the doctor decide if you are qualified to own a firearm and regular checkups of your character is just stupid. If they are going to do that, then why not restrict the usage of knives and cars, they are the things that kill most in our country.

Yes, the thompson was a very common weapon among U.S. soldiers in WW2. However, it was usually usually issued to scouts, noncommisioned officers, and paratroopers. The typical soldier in the U.S. army would have carried the M1 Garand.

The earliest version of the abrams before the M1A1 was the M1 this was before its production and during its developmental stages back in the 70's. Same goes for the M2 bradley. Before they had their A1 variants and they were still experimenting. The original M1 carried a 105 mm main gun instead of a 120 and pretty much sucked balls compared to its A1 variant

Ummm LOL - NO, no it was not! It was not even close to being a contender for the best weapon. In fact, it sucked so bad that it was superseded by a newer weapon in 1944.

It was prone to jam unless the magazines were specifically issued to that weapon (many had the rifle serial numbers etched). It was underpowered.

The best submachine gun of WW2 was the German MP-40. It put the PPsh-41 to shame in every category.

Actually, There is a multitude of differences between the Thompson and the Tommy. The Tommy has a fore grip, And a longer barrel. Also it uses a different sight, Because of the top mounted bolt handle. Not to mention the fact that a Tommy gun has a compensator most often. There is rarely a compensator on the Thompson.
