Well, maybe he's a bit of a masochist. Or just has really low self-esteem. Most people with low self-esteem tend to get in bad relationships just to feel like they matter. In some people's minds, there is no bad attention. If you're so desperate to be seen, it doesn't matter what someone does to you, as long as someone acknowledges you. I guess it's better to feel mistreated than to feel like you're completely worthless and insignificant.

@Traptist - No, you'e right, it's "I want to be the only victim.". As in, to be the only one people give their atention to because they feel sorry. You did, however, make a mistake in when it says "I want your eyes to see." It's supposed to be "I want your eyes you see."
