  • Cool!

  • it sounds like she said "they also don't shit"

  • We have a 5-month-old Standard Poodle and we plan on growing out all its fur. You don't have to have the posh cuts, Velocity. =)

  • They may look like little froo froo dogs, but they are highly intelligent and, unlike breeds such as Jack Russell Terriers, they are highly trainable. And I bet people won’t call them little froo froo dogs if they would have their entire coats shaved (but not bald), and maybe if they would have a boxer’s ear crop (or shorter) and a tail docked short.

  • i love my toy poodle.. she's so smart.. love her..

  • i would love to get a poodle...but its just such a fufu dog

  • @bcroger2 The'ye good dogs, don't get me wrong. I just hate the haircuts. I would never dress my dog like that, and if I owned a poodle, I would feel like I would need to :I

  • @FutureCSI404 ME NEITHER UNTIL I ACTUALLY LEARNED MORE AND FOUND OUT THEY WERE NOT PRISSY PAMPERED DOGS

THE STANDARD IS THE TOP 3 SMARTEST DOG ALONG THE BORDIE COLLIE AND GERMAN SHEPARD.

  • @HPfan71 i think poodles are in top 2 followed by G.sheperd. :)

  • @Sushi712 i know right

  • i have two dogs..one is a poodle and the other one is a maltepoo.. they are the daddy and the daughter.. very smart dogs, easy to train, i dont care what anyone says, they are the love of my life, and im planning to get a standard poodle. My babies!

  • Actually, the haircut for original hunting poodles was just one length, typically 1-3 inches, with areas shaved out where the hair wasn't necessary. Hair covered the head, neck, & ribcage, all the leg joints (including the upper rear leg which is shaved today), and hair on the tail was left long to serve as a rudder. It was an ugly but functional cut, with no blending or rounding.

The circus was responsible for making the poodle's cut "poofy," rounded, and highly stylized.

  • Ive always wanted a poodle of my very own a lot of my friends have them they do agility, swimming, and Oh ya giving kisses! I <3 Them!

  • I like poodles...but i cant stand their coats! i love how smart they are tho.

  • I wish I could have a poodle for my bichon! :[

  • My mother in law has one of these.

The first time i met her i was so amazed at the energy.

I was like:Does she ever run out of energy? She would run up to me and wag her tail and was very friendly.

  • @piromaniac9999 lol they are full of energy =) i love my toy poodle

  • @darkangelhatesyou I bet they must eat a lot in order to regain all that energy.

I have this friend who has a poodle and she eats a lot in order to regain energy.

  • no damn what the dogs look ridiculous. poodles should not look like that they will not look like any floor puffs

  • my poodle is half retarted and poops on the wall

  • @kingskk8rd Id like to meet it

  • I live in finland and here we have four sizes. Toy, Darf, Medium and standart.

  • Well, when a mummy dog and a daddy dog love each other very much........ :P

  • i have 2 apricot toy poodle sisters and one of them is the stereotypical prissy dog and the other one is a mud wrestler sheep herder but they are both extremely smart you can see their minds working when you look into their eyes

  • What kind of dog is this?

  • lol your fucked

  • my poodle, prancer, is definitely proof of the whole intelligence thing. when he was a puppy, he started making almost a growling sound that sounded like he was saying "out." so we interpreted that as him saying "i need to go outside now." hes so cute.

  • there are a few more colors of poodle than that!

  • Wow! Do you expect to mention EVERYTHING of it?

  • well,my family and friends have ALOT of poodles...aunt-3, friend-3, gramma-1,

black, white, red, brown, tan, grey,

almost all of them are purebred

  • You cant count the mix's colors

they mentioned black white and grey

Brown "tan" and red are variants on apricot

  • i have an apricot colored toy poodle and when I was looking for a good breeder I saw a lot of these parti-colored poodles and like 10years ago never heard of sucha thing....so why arent parti-colored poodles akc accepted,is this something new?whats wrong with the parti-colors?

  • can someone tell me if a standard poodle go well with a pitbull he is socilized and i want two guard dogs?

  • Well Pitbulls are probably one of the worst guard dogs.

Poodles are good watch dogs, but only the standard size could do some damage, and he would have to be trained to be a reliable guard dog.

If you want a highly trainable, super affectionate, and intimidating guard dog, get a Doberman, amazing dogs. Although the guarding instinct comes more naturally to them, you still want them trained in schutzhund or something to be reliable, and to listen during attack, or threatening situations.

  • i personally don't like the breed but there's no doubting their intelligence. i prefer the lamb clip as it looks better but the lion clip has good use. i love gianmt breeds like mastiffs and gr8 danes also alaskan malamutes

    xx

  • just where the puck is the shih tzu video

  • I love poodles I'd like to have one but I wouldnt want those typical posh looking haircuts - I think they look better with normal cut

  • It's called a lamb's cut. They snip everything short except the top of the head, ears, and tip of the tail. It's also the easiest cut to maintain.

  • they dont shed much but most dog alergies are from saliva or dander the non sheding helps alot but they arent completely hipoalergenic

  • Its not even from the saliva and dander its from the specific protein found within them

  • One more thing, poodles DON'T have fur. They have hair, which is he reason why they don't shed (like our hair on top of our heads). And, here's the cool fact. The Poodle can cross to, count them, 20 OTHER DOG BREEDS!!!

  • All dog breeds can cross with all other dog breeds. That's because they're all the same species. (With some exceptions due to practicality of course. Crossing a great dane and chihuahua is fine and dandy as far as genetics is concerned but... :p)

  • this is funny, my sister bought a pomeranian/shetland sheepdog mix.......the dad was the pom. how the hell did that happen?

  • what r u talkin about?? those "stupid" hair cuts u just insulted helps poodles to be protected from cold water, not because they r in the circus!!! think before u write such dumb comments!

  • @PoodleLover222

i like the puppy clip best ^w^

  • Im getting a mini in a few months

  • Wow, that's very informative...about the coat that is.

  • yeah, the fact that they don't shed is a big attraction for a lot of ppl. Though you do have to clip them a lot, if you just keep an equal hair length it's rather easy at home.

CrossBreeds such as labradoodles (poodle/labrador) were specifically made so you could have a non shedding lab, with the poodle intelligence.

  • Such a good idea. Shame it will take a while for the breed to be standardised - I wanted to get one but then realised I'd have no guarantee that the coat of the offspring would be fully non-shedding.

  • Yay poodles. A+

    thanks for posting.

  • POODLES RULE!!!!!!!
