Are you using After Effects? You done some pretty good masking there, The sabre looks good too. Its just a pitty you get twats thinking they are big and bad by saying its crap, but then, that is what is probably keeping their ears apart!

@HotElectonePlayer I used particle illusion (90s app used for sabrina teenage witch, star trek, etc) - after affects is probably far superior.

Thanks yeah - but it was just a quick test to see what I could do with the program. Then i got bored :) But you're right - the masking was probably the most painful part. Well aside from having to guesstimate the light sabre size and angle for each frame - i didnt have a short stick i could hold and draw the sabre over so it was all manually done.

What you need to do is add a stick or something to the end so that you can make that part with the particles. It helps bring it up a lot better in after effects

I would have no idea, as i only used this a few times and don't even know what the other is...

PI (or it's predecessor) was used in 90s shows such as star trek and sabrina the teenage witch, as well as in some games and movies.

Can't remember exactly how, but there's a motion blur setting somewhere i'm pretty sure. Also, it might be more than just one light sabre, could be like 20 or 30 instances spawned in teh 1 spot.

YEah, when you render de frames in Pillusion it offers you the choice to make motion blur and you can also set the numbers of frames that it going to add, I mean extra frames.

Check my channel, I have some experiencies with Pillusion there.
