  • I found myself smilling while watching the expressions on your face and while you were thinking out loud.By the way...your hair is gorgeous.

  • Your hair is gorgeous by the way and long too. I think you did a good job for your first time.

  • I know how you feel. I did the same thing when I first applied it . I hope I did it right the second time.

  • Gorgeous curls!!! Great save :-)

  • u look g reat

  • i love your hair but youre right kinky curly hair clustards are not for everyone lol

  • your hair is beautiful ! what went wrong ?

  • lol this didn't go wrong, i think it looks good :)

  • ooo kinky took my hair out so i prefur not to try it

  • Girl that was a beautiful "gone wrong". I have to try this.

  • Your hair came out nice. If you think your hair did not quite act like you wanted it to, maybe you do not even need the product. Your hair is very pretty.

  • I think it came out really nice even though you didnt follow the directions. I wanna try this product. and the tip about not using a hot dryer with the product is helpful cause i might have done that unknowingly

  • Your hair turned out fabulous!! So beautiful! Thank you for your video!!!

  • your hair is not very curly. u have a lot of heat damage to your hair. u pretty much wasted ur money on the kinky custard. just saying

  • Nice

  • using the comb was a big no no lol but great video

  • I think ur hair looked fine after using the productt

  • look like electrik shok

  • I think it came out great!

  • Your hair has to be soaked with water for it to work its a good product

  • Ur hair looks super damaged :(

  • do u or have u had any breakage in your hair before?

  • SOOO TRUE! IT DOESN'T WORK ! TYPE IN kinky curly knot today disaster TO SEE THE TRUTH ABOUT KINKY CURLY

  • @cupollyy It doesn't work with certain hair types and if you mix the products with other products. Just because it didn't work for your hair doesn't mean it "doesn't work" I loveeee the product and so does my entire family. You should find a product that works on 4 d hair like yours

  • On the bottle of the ' come clean' shampoo it warns that kinky curly products don't work well with oils, butters, or silicones. The olive oil shampoo you used is the problem.

  • U SHOULDVE SPRAYED IT WITH WATER THEN APPLIED IT IT DOESNT REALLY WORK ON DRY HAIR

  • It looks LOVELY!

  • i think you hair came out really nice. so where did the kinky curly go wrong?

  • I love ur hair..M it came out nice.

  • Thank you all for your positive comments!! I appreciate it.

  • I think your hair looked amazing after the use of kccc, i dont see where it went wrong

  • @swiftjill11 Thank you so much. It just didn't go exactly how I wanted it.

  • @naturalhairgoddess i have two very different curl patterns if you wanna correct heat damage try using flexi/perm rods to match the curl pattern of your hair so you won't have to cut the hair of before you give it a chance to revert ~ good luck !

  • omg wow a video was even made u completly misused the product

  • @raheem92 Omg you totally don't read, it clearly says in my profile that I am completely natural, and have been since Nov. 2003. On top of that, you did not read the description of this video that also clearly says that I know I used the product wrong, however, I don't think it would have worked for my hair period. Why? Because my hair did suffer from heat damage which caused the front of my hair to be straight. People, please read before you comment.

  • @raheem92 FAIL

  • KINKY CURLY DOESNT WORK ON PERMED STRAIGHTENED OR REALXED/TEXTURIZED HAIR IF UR HAIR IS LIKE THAT U WILL DAMAGE IT YOU NEED NATURAL CURLY HAIR LIKE ME THEY ALSO SHOW THE HAIR TYPE ITS MADE FOR IN A VIDEO TUTORIAL BY THE OWNER

  • hair looks heat damaged. protein treatments or protein based products will help. just make sure to keep a protein/moisture balance

  • its super cute!

  • @naturalhairgoddess That is because when I saw your hair I thought it was relaxed. Sorry for a bad mistake on my part. Now, as for the product, it works for me. The only issue I have is that it makes it hard. The lady who demonstrates it on here has natural long curly but flowing hair so I don't think it's fair to use her. I think they should use someone else with 4a or 4b or at the most 3c. Also, what is your hair type? It;s beautiful!

  • re: kinky curly custard, sort of pricey, can flake, but can give defined curls.

  • You should try applying all the products in the shower so your hair can stay wet and the moisture from the shower will go into your hair and help define the curls better.

  • That twist out came out gorgeous!

  • your hair looks better then mine

  • Your hair turned out beautiful, it just looks a little different because it is very long and your natural curls are looser. My curls are tighter and just a little past my ear but I have the same problem with my hair being straighter in the front.

  • how long did it take to get your hair that long?

  • girl that is cute that is not gone wrong lol

  • LMFAO!!! you're so funny

  • Comment removed

  • Oh... :( Heat damage.

  • why yu said it went wrong? looks to me like it went right.

  • babe for all that hair u have smaller sections would be best. alot smaller.

  • I actually love the way your curls turned out from the twist! I've been trying to find a way i can do my daughters hair so that I can leave it alone for a while and this is great! I might try the big twist :0)

  • I thought her hair came out very nice.

  • Your hair is beautiful! Tips for the next time you use it. Keep your hair wet... not damp, and use more custord. Your hair is long enough and you will most likely not get a jheri curl look. ;)

  • Wow, I think this Do actually turned out nice!

  • i dont think it worked cuz u didnt use the product right. u should keep combing ur hair while u put the custard in

  • How long did it take your hair to dry?

  • You do look like you could be from Ethiopia, Somalia or one of the East African regions. I get told that I look Ethiopian all the time, however, I am Tanzanian. Go figure! :) Love the videos!

  • Kinky Curly hair products do NOT mix well with other products.

  • Does it work on relaxed hair?

  • @keke2461 Unfortunately no. It defines your natural curls.

  • @keke2461 actually i think, it depends. my has has been relaxed, im growing it out, but the relax parts still curl, its just the roots have a more defined curl.

  • im sorry, but i dont get it. why do peeople say that you look east african? whats the difference?

  • Yeah, you do look East African. I was going to say "YES! Finally a sister of mine doing videos!" lol, you look like my younger sister.

  • oh my gosh!

    The results were so beautiful

Now I'm contemplating if I should by KK

  • You're gawgeous =)

  • Looks beautiful to me!

  • you applied it wrong thats y

  • it came out gorgeous!!!!!

  • what vitamins do u take for ur hair? in far as gettin it all back?

  • that was actually pretty

  • wow it actually works i see it curlling at the minute.....wat is ur race btw?

  • the reason it came out like tht is cause u used an oil based shampoo which weighed your hair down n kept the curls frm setting properly.

  • does any one think dis product might work 4 me caz am full blood african and my hair is extra nappy

  • i think it came out cute... although u had me scared a little bit in the begining... :)

  • just were your own hair it looks good without the product...everyone does not have good hair

  • I know this wasn't the look you were going for, but it turned out BEAUTIFUL!

  • I SHOULD OF TRIED THAT KINKY- CURLY THAN MISS JESSIES...I SPENT DAMN NEAR 150$ ON MISS JESSIES PRODUCTS AND IT DIDNT AGREE WITH MY HAIR..IMMA TRY THIS HERE!!

  • You look East African to me.

  • @BuenaventuraAvenue I get that a lot. I hear I look Ethiopian all the time.

  • @BuenaventuraAvenue You really do. The reason I clicked on the vid was to see whether or not you were Ethiopian lol

  • @BuenaventuraAvenue thats exactly wt i thought like eritrean or ethiopian

although i thought maybe half black nd asian cz my friend is half jamaican nd pakisani and resembles her a lot

  • You have beautiful hair girl, but don't give up on kinky Kurly. It works on my 4C hair. Your hair just has to be dripping wet when you apply the product. Much love.

  • girl....doh smile!!!!!!

  • Your hair is gorgeous. One thing though - I would recommend combing the hair Ends up, and Not Roots Down. Lucky for you, your hair doesn't seem very brittle. However, it would be disastrous people with moisture resistant hair (lol) like myself. Combing the hair ends up plays a major role in length retention.

  • @SharaNaturalJourney yes, it really was heat damaged hair. Once the hair shaft is damaged by heat or "heat trained" as some may call it, it becomes almost impossible for our curls, coils, n kinks to revert. I also had heat damage n the front of my head, I got it cut off; my hair is now cut into layers about 15days ago. I believe naturalhairgoddess also cut her hair n layers to get rid of the damaged areas. Follow her channel to c her cut n progress.

  • it came out very pretty!!!

  • HEY I SUBSCRIBED, COMMENT AND RATE TO YOU BECAUSE I THINK YOUR VIDEOS ARE GREAT!! LOVE THEM!

  • @ladycateyes Thank you so much! I have more I want to put out, so continue watching.

  • You have beeeeautiful hair. It came out great to me. Excited about getting to this length, but enjoying the journey along the way :)

  • omggg itsss cute^^

i dont see what went wrong lol :)

but i am only 17 and dont have money to buy kinky curly so i use eco styler gel and i get greattt results

if you dont want it crunchy you use use a moisturizer first then apply the gel^^

  • Hey- i don't think it was that big of a deal as to how u applied it. In my opinion n from my personal experience, u hav heat damage. The front of my hair is also damaged from a hair stylist flat ironing my hair on high heat. I'm currently growing my hair out ( without heat) to cut the damaged areas out. Good vid tho- everything is trial n error.

  • @BabyDollNatural1 i was trying to figure out why her hair looked so straight! when i first saw it i thought she had a relaxer and was like well of course the kinky curly isnt gonna work. is it really heat damage?

  • what are u talking about that was very pretty.

  • @04070413 Thank you! I tried my best to make it work.

  • People who don't use the product the way it instructs you and end up with results they do not like get on my nerves. You did not use it properly sweetie...smh

  • @TheBrownSugaBabe Sweetie this video was made 7 months ago. Clearly I know how to use it by now! Thanks for watching!

  • They said it only works with natural hair you have a relaxer in that's why!!

  • @norrisac Sweetie I have not had a perm/relaxer in over 6 years! Relaxer has been cut completely out. The straight pieces you may see, come from straightening so much. Thanks for watching though.

  • It's best to have your hair completely wet (like right out of the shower) and then apply the Knot Today and then Apply the Kinky Curly Curling Custard. Make sure you don't use any other leave-in's....just used the Knot Today because the Kinky Curly Curling Custard doesn't do well with other products. Hope this helps. :)

  • Seriously, I get the same results using Queen Heleene brown protein gel.

  • Ok, I can see at the start that this isn't going to work for you this time. Your hair must be SOAKING wet, I mean wet. it looks like its partially dry already. Also I use suave coconut conditioner with it, I don't like that leave-in crap.

  • That came out CUTE!!! VERY CUTE!

  • your hair came out really nice, even though it wasnt the results you wanted lol.

  • I think your hair came out really pretty.

  • was your hair natural and un permed or chemical treated??

  • I dont know but I think you have heat dammage in the front thats why it didnt curl

  • looks good to me what went wrong

  • the results of your twist-out were great! u should just use the product for twist-outs :-)

  • maybe u shud try it wet instead of damp

  • I don't think you added enough knot today and your hair isn't wet enough. It's best to saturate your hair in the knot today while in the shower. then apply the custard. i hope this tip helps and try it again someday.

  • @GrowBlackHairNET Thank you for the tip. I tried it again, view my video "2nd Kinky Curly Review" to see the results. It's just not working for me at this time. I will regrow my hair without straightening it and try it again.

  • @naturalhairgoddess Trust me i tried the product twice as well and i didn't like the results either. lol

  • yours look sooo pretty!

  • i used it 3 times on wet hair and the results are not great. I even re wet my hair as i was applying kinky curly to my hair and let it air dry. it dry and my hair look dull. Why should one pay $29 for a gel hair product and have to turn around and add oil, or anything else to get better results.

  • remember your hair has to be soaking wet. parting in sections is a good idea. lol one you got all the product in dont touch let it dry then use the glossy stuff

  • @iLoveeZebras123 I've been told that. Actually she looks like me:-)

  • @naturalhairgoddess Yeah you do..LOL

  • i did that when i did it it like messed up my whole date so i returned it

  • omg is that the same stuff it is that stuff made my hair poof up so badly

  • I got the whole set and tried this on my daughter and it just didn't do what I thought it would, yes the curls looked good. but it took forever to dry and she didn't like it plus it made her look like she had no hair when it got done shrinking. and she has curls like yours. I took that mess right back to whole foods. The shampoo and conditioner I really liked. But I think it's not for everyone. it surely wasn't for us. I get better results with the Eco styler gel.

  • @msfynemaple I understand your frustration. Try using a blow dryer with the concentrator attachment to stretch your curls. Use the low heat setting. Unfortunately, KC doesn't work for everyone. I love it for my 19month old though. The same thing happened to my 10 year old daughter what happened to your daughter.

  • @msfynemaple Thanks for the advice, i did all that with my daughters hair. and it just wasn't for her....No frustration, for all the hype , i thought it was worth the 28.00 bucks. it didn;t in my opinion , so i returned that mess.

  • You look a little like Malia Obama.

  • You are the 2nd person who has told me that.

  • @cyinergist omg she does..

  • Thank you for telling me. I kinda skimmed through the site just to get an idea of how to apply. I didn't actually take the time to sit and read it.

  • Thank you for commenting. I really had no idea where they were getting that information as far as the hair texture goes. Thanks for helping me clarify. I finally looked up the different hair textures after you posted.

  • I like the way it came out.. I was about to tell you that you didn't apply it correctly too but I see someone beat me to it...Lol.. Also, use the Knot today as your conditioner in the shower and then apply the Custard in sections.. I just did a review on it myself and I love it.. It's my favorite product

  • Thank you. I can't wait til my hair grows out so I can wear my natural curls. All this time I had been missing out, but it's ok, I'll be back.

  • you are not applying the products correctly. go to the kinky curly website and it will show you how to do it right. and there is no such thing as getting your curl pattern back. once you lose it, thats it. the only way to get it back is to grow your hair out and cut off the damaged ends.

  • Thanks for your input! I understand that very much so......excuse me for not explaining it properly. My plan is to not use any heat on it period so that the part that is growing in will not get damaged. I know that hair is dead anyway and once it's damaged, it's damaged. There's no reviving dead hair plain and simple.

I also noticed that I applied it wrong after looking at the video on the kinky curly website. I will apply it again the correct the next time I decide to use it.

  • Thanks! And no problem!

  • Your hair is so full its perfect for this hairstyle...looks great.

I'm going to try this method b/c a lot of my hair is the same texture as yours- the fronts and top of my head will not curl its just crinkles :~( however, one side does curl really nice :~\

  • Thank you!

Yeah that will be cool if you tried it. It's such a bummer when you have different textures in your head. But we can always make it work for us.

  • has your hair always been natural & if not did you do the big chop and how long did it take you to grow it out? its realli realli pretty btw =)

  • I decided to go natural again in 2003 and did the big chop in 2004. It took about a year for my hair to grow back to its original length (at my bra line). I've never seen my hair grow past this length though. Never really tried to get it grow past this length. Maybe I'll try some things and see if it can get longer than this.

  • i have hair like yours is it ture that if i straighten my hair too much i will lose the curl pattern?

  • @cutiep360 Yes. At the beginning of my natural hair journey, I remember my hair being curlier than it is now. So being that I love my natural curls, I am going to do more styles that will help me get my natural curl pattern back.

  • Thank you!

  • I dont think this product works for anyone the first time, I think I twisted my hair the first couple of times I used it too. BUT your twist out looks BEAUTIFUL, I can not wait to get a full head of hair

  • Yeah I was going to try it again someday soon. And thank you.

  • I went to the web site to order my daughters and they said that the curling custard is designed to work with the come clean shampoo and Knot today conditioner. I would recommend getting the come clean shampoo so that you can have great results without having to twist your hair.

  • thanks for the info. I think it didn't work for me because my curl pattern in the front is lost from me straightening my hair more than I need to. However, I may try that when I run out of the shampoo I'm using currently.

  • the kinky curly looks great

  • thanks

  • whoa that looks really cool! :P

  • Thanks

  • That style looks very good on you!

  • Thank you
