  • exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!

  • Why are we looking at the pregnancy of Lara Croft?

  • Sorry, but this is bullshit. Babies come from a stork.

  • The 32-cell mass shown at 0:49 is actually a morula and not a blastocyst. A morula does not become a blastocyst until it begins to undergo cavitation.

  • the embryo thinks he is cool but i can turn around to

  • Minute 1:42 to 1:53.

One example is Spina Bifida, which is a failure to close the neural tube. When that happens, the back side of the body, along the spine, is opened to the outside in some regions. If the folding would cover the embryo like it is shown here, the spine would be in our belly and failure to close would leave it open to the inside.

I might be wrong. But if that's not the case, this is a very important issue since this video is surely being used by teachers all over the world.

  • Dear publisher. Please correct me if I am wrong. After the neural tube starts to grow and close, this animation shows the outer cells (epiblast) closing on top of the neural tube. However, I believe that this is the opposite of what happens. The neural tube represents the ectoderm, below is the mesoderm and bellow is the endoderm. If the folding happens the way it is shown in this video we would be inside out, with endoderm, then the mesoderm, covering the ectoderm in the inside.

  • why is she wearing combat gear?

  • The second part will be highly appreciated, please upload. thanks.

  • Wow.

  • nice jobs: good animation+clear explanation+angelic voice! :)

  • so when the foetus is inside the mother's womb it keeps spinning around???? ._. OMG

  • Is there a second part to this???

And omg this video was actually amazing and really well detailed! :)

  • @justinefiona94 Currently there is no follow on to this video.

  • for interesting facts, type in the box:

embryology - the proof that islam is the truth

  • Wrong. It does NOT begin the fertilization process when it encounters sperm. The process begins with both sperm and egg BEFORE the meet. Both are equal and of equal importance. This is a simple leftist feminist agenda to say it 'encounters' something as if it that 'something' was unimportant. This is how sperm banks came to be. The sperm of not an 'encounter'.

  • @BOULDERDP Dude, please study some more biology and grammar. The fertilization DOES occur when the egg and the sperm cell meet, more accuratedly, when both pro nucleus merge together.

  • This video makes you wonder why there exists professionals who continue to insist that embryonic stem cell research is perfectly ethical when isolating the ICM results in its death. Even blastomere biopsy, which claims to be ethical, is based on hindering the development of the original embryo.

  • 1:48 demonstrates those hard-to-cope-with inuterinic ray shadows. What Program did you use? (for modelling and rendering, not for the shine... )

  • @theotherscientist That section of this video was created using a combination of Maya modeling and After Effects Post processing.

  • Gastrulation and neurulation could have been improved... but I like the opening model.

  • this is full of inaccuracies!

  • @galkober whats inaccurate about it?

  • The last part cud hav been better explained!!:((

  • there are only 16 cells before implantation NOT 32

  • Damn interesting!

  • her neckline is obtrusive.

  • that is amazing! make me feel wierd that i was one haha.. but thanx for showing this! :)) i wanna be a doctor i dont know what kind yet but this one is making me wanna help baby and stuff like that! :)

  • AMAZING!

  • gastrulation-

  • Thanks!

  • Rather than just magically showing the "next phase" I would've liked to see a gradual growing of all structures, especially when it goes from the tube-like form into the beginning of an embryo.

  • @cptricard Me too. They always skip that. And I also don't like the constant fast rotation. It makes it difficult to identify all the developing parts the narrator talks about.

  • You missed the cumulus and the hatching phase - the cells are too "opne" floating around.

  • the abortion can occur within the first 20 weeks after fecundation.

  • 20 weeks? are you crazy????

in my country its 10...and thats also TOO LATE

  • That spinning makes me wanna puke, get rid of it

  • Great images and explanation = )

But the constant rotation has got me feeling nauseous...... 0_0

  • when does the abortion occur?

  • Maximum 20 days in I think.

  • @Abengoshis thats impossible. no one could even make their mind up within that time!

  • Haha

  • legaly-12 weeks my country...

  • a sexy female pilot?
