"You had to know the man to understand the man" Walter Hawkins was a giving man and Loved people and most of all He loved God. RIP and Save a seat for me.
I feel that two tributes to Bishop Walter Hawkins were absoluytely the very best. The first one is this one by Bishop kenneth Ulmer. Preachers/Teachers like him , Bishop Noel Jones, and a few others tend to capture your attention like this with analogies....affter all, we must remember how those parables that Jesus often used still stick in our minds. he was just showing people that Bishop Hawkins was so much more than his music. The other moving tribute was the lady without the buiness card
@STOKELING1 I think your reaction is completely misguided. You're so busy being holier than thou that you miss the point. There is NO ONE who remembers Bishop Hawkins as an actor and I have not see one comment anyway where anyone has taken the position you have. Again . . .relax. Bishop Ulmer used a creative way to illustrate the many sides of Walter Hawkins ministry. If you didn't get it, that's fine. But to be sanctimonious is ridiculous.
@newjeruballyer NO ONE REMEMBERS HIM AS AN ACTOR SO WHY COMPARE HIM TO AN ACTOR. It is a sad commentary to a great man. U were asked to explain not deride or slam. You did understand the question nor the word metaphor. It is not a kind word just as you called me "holier than thou" because I took offense to someone comparing my friend Walter to an actor and his students as thespians. It is not religious more intellectual. You have only had 750 views and many are still mourning. You chillax.Wait.
