  • when i typed in "fastboot -i 0×1949 boot twrp-blaze-2.0.0RC0.img" it says error: invalid vendor id

  • @mstree9985 change the x to x manually type it in, when you copy and paste, the x becomes something else.

  • not working i cant get the driver to update its saying the folder i specified doesnt contain a compatible software for your driver device,if folder contains a driver,make sure it is designed to work with a windows x64-based systems...what should i do ?

  • And for all the Australian people who can't download ES explorer you can download it with Wifi to your kindle from 4shared.com too easy.

  • For all Window users to make a .android directory, go to Start> Run > CMD, and then type mkdir .android then press enter. once done refresh your folder and it should be there.

  • .android does not appaer and you can't create a ".android" folder because of the "." and there is no adb_usb.ini

  • When i install the winusb it first of all does not have the .inf after it and then when i clicked on it and hit ok it says "The folder you specified doesnt contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems" Help

  • mine keeps saying "failed to copy 'su' to '\system\xbin\su': read-only file system.

    Anyone know the fix to this or a way around it?

  • @PiroFyre NVM, I just used Doomlord's 4.0 and that works. Just follow steps 1-10 first. Then go download Doomlord's 4.0 and run it. A lot easier using Doomlord than going through all that process crap with the command line that might not even work. I know it didn't work for me.

  • when i was rooting i lost my files and now it wont even get passed the logo any idea on what i should do?

  • @TommieXDee I had the same problem and yes, it has to be .android. I use WinRAR to unzip my files, and when I hit Extract To I was able to make a new folder (anywhere) called .android that I moved into the user folder. Might try that with your unzipping program.

  • Thanks so much for the tutorial, got it rooted easily! Maybe help for others, I had to unplug the USB and restart the Kindle a few times after I rooted it. Then it came on fine. I didn't do the Twrp Recovery steps as it just kept freezing for me.

    fastboot -i 0×1949 oem idme bootmode 4000

    fastboot reboot

    on the cmd

  • @espivic take a .rar .zip file and extract it to yourusername/.android.. in that way you would have the folder and the files inside could be deleted, so you have the .android folder...

  • gahh man, right after step 13 you say to update your driver again and my driver for my kindle was already recognized but at THE END you say if its already recognized your good to go T.T now my kindle is stuck on the boot logo, please help me

  • have re-installed the driver many times, i can see it in device manager as "android ADB interface" and i copied and pasted the "adb_usb.ini" and im still getting an error saying my device is not attached, please help

  • @henriqueribas Uploading now, it's essentially same except you change adb to ./adb-mac and fastboot to ./adb-fastboot.

  • Hi i cant get the kindle to say i need to update drivers everytime i plug it in it updates drivers and ever time i try to update and do the thing you say it says the folder selected dosent contain a driver compatible with your device or with 32 bit windows
