  • Excellent toque down low and midrange. Nope...nothing bad to say about the cam. I loved it.

  • How's the torque and HP down low with this cam? Anything you don't like about it?

  • The 'Nice Holden' comments are annoying now. We know it's a damn Holden, stop mentioning it.

  • when you put ls3 heads... what intake do you have to go with ls2 or ls3. i wanted to get a fast intake but not sure if to purchase ls3 or ls2. thanks cool car btw

  • @albert12able

Thank you. You will have to switch to an LS3 intake because of the different port (rectangle vs cathedral). Just to make sure...you cannot do the LS3 head swap with a LS1 (5.7).

  • Nice 'Holden' mate ;) lol

  • @Zonka35

Thank you! I'm not ashamed...in fact just was telling two guys at work yesterday that she's actually a Holden, and came over on a boat from Australia.

I don't care if the car was designed and built on Mars...I love it, have 123,000+ miles on it, and will buy another when the wheels fall off of this one.

  • @ShoddyHog ohh, i was joking man? lol i didnt know it was a holden

  • @ShoddyHog That's whats up! Getting mine in a few weeks and can barely contain myself.

  • you have mc racing...house of boost...modified by kc...ect in kansas city

  • who is the LS1 tuners here in missouri? I just moved up here..

  • @19jody72

I guess it depends on where you are at in Missouri, but the only person I would trust to tune my car if I wasn't is Dave Steck.

  • Also, my tuner cannot keep my 06 M6 goat with only a texas speed 228r cam, jba shorty headers, and k&n CAI from surging when I push the clutch in during parking lot driving on warm days. He says my MAF is too close to my radiator with the k&n and a vararam while fix this because it protects the MAF sensor from getting too hot. I think he's an idiot.

  • Sweet. Imma bout to put the flowmaster axle back on in place of some borla mufflers which are too quiet for my taste. I can barely hear the cam when sitting in my car with the borlas. The axle back comes with super 40s but states it has only a moderate sound. But looking at just the super 40s by themselves it says aggressive. Whatchu think?

  • amazing!!! GOd i cant wait til i get mine.

  • if you dont mind me asking what is ur idle rpm set at ? was that like 800 to 900 rpm ?

  • Another really good tip is to run a .040 thickness gasket instead of the stock thickness, this way you regain most of your stock compression back as well it will allow you to run the timing around 28 degrees without leaning out creating more more horspower and a better torque curve

  • does anyone know the correct temperature settings for a performance 160 degree thermostat on an LS2 V8 engine using EFI live software?

Im after the temp for fan to turn on and fan to turn off. My tuner cant get it right.

    would appreciate someones help. cheers

  • Lame ass video drive the piece of shit

  • @MajorMajor34

I have 115,000 miles on the car since purchasing it new in May, 2006 - and it is not my daily driver. How much more do you want me to drive it, asshole?

  • @ShoddyHog yea like i said drive it but white nobody wanna see u open the door back it up let it sit at idle....do a burnout do a lunch gimmie a drive buy or sum race body....butt wipe

  • @ShoddyHog yea like i said drive it nobody wanna see u walk around the car open the door .....do a burnout ..do a launch...gimmie a drive bye race some one butt wipe

  • @ShoddyHog forget this guy. He clearly has no idea what a piece of art he is looking at. Awesome car.

  • @MajorMajor34 What a twat...

  • cant even hate... nice job.

  • a 12 sec 1/4 mile is shit for those mods. With a good cam, ported and milled l92 heads, 3000rpm high stall converter and exhaust system, headers, and OTR intake and tune, should easily see you in the 11 sec bracket and low 11's with slicks.

These are common times for our V8's down here in australia. My ls2 pulled 12.7sec when it was tuned only with the stock converter and exhaust system only.

  • how can you have L92 heads on a LS2, because the bore on a L92 is larger than a LS2 :?

  • You can have L92's on a 6.0 Not an ls1 though. I had L92's on my LS2 Trailblazer SS.. This is a very common mod.

  • oh, ok. thanks bro.

  • the l92 heads have a minimum requirement of a 4.00" bore and the LS2 has exactly a 4.00" bore. the LS1 has a 3.90" bore.

  • What did you do about the mapsensor and the LS3 intake?

did you have to flycut with the streetsweeper?

  • gorgeous car man if she ever goes up for sale let me know

  • is that a missouri plate :) ....did you do all ur fuel mods?...id deff suggest a new cam...if this is a 6speed car it should be damn close to 500 rwhp!

  • you gotta have a serious split for the L92 heads with much more exhaust duration and lift..

  • Oh yeah, thats it, back that ass up!

  • excellent vid. Im really leaning toward an L92 head 6liter block setup on my chevy II and seeing all these vids is convincing me to go this route and not the Turbo 5.3 route I was planning initially.

  • She made 438 rwhp / 406 tq. On the dyno, there were a couple flat spots in the torque. If not for those, the numbers would have been about 450/420. There are a couple theories as to why she flattened out, with the most likely reason being that the cam is not specd to the L92s. She still runs like a beast, and for the price, I can't complain. Besides...if I get the urge, I can throw a different cam in, and pick up another 30 or so.

  • Did you have to get different rockers for the L92's? Im looking into puttin together this build for my LS2 GTO as well...

  • Yes, the intake rockers are offset compared to the stock LS2/243 head configuration. I decided to go with Yella Terra roller rockers, and am very, very, very happy with them.

  • @ShoddyHog

how much did all this cost ya?

  • @Syrius187 I'd have to add it all up, but I'd say I've got somewhere around $4,000 in mods at the time of that video.

  • @ShoddyHog wow that is cheap here in aus something like that will cost well over 8-10k :( why sooo cheap in the US?!?!

  • @GMH383 It is probably just because I've done mostly engine mods, and LSx engines are in a lot of different vehicles. Because of that, there's a lot of vendors for engine mods.

Don't feel bad though...the spare/replacement parts for the GTO are insane!!!

  • @jerrepi hey umm i dont think so i think all of the l92s are pretty much the same

  • @ShoddyHog the reason why your cam does not suit I bet is because the split in duration is not big enough. eg 232/232 or 232/236

with the l92 head you need a split of at the very mininum 10 degrees.

comp cams have cams with a 25% degree split but i reckon its too much. Im doing a head conversion for my ls2 also and im using a 229/242 camshaft which suits perfectly as the split in duration is quite wide,

  • how much power are you making now that you have the heads and LS3 intake and everything??

  • Hey man im thinking of the l92 swap also do you love the cam and were did you get it.

    Thanks

  • Sorry I missed this. I do love the cam, but it doesn't make as much power with the L92's as some others would.

The cam is made by Ed Curtis of Flowtech Inductions.

  • @billygoatgto an l92 headswap is the way to go but the most important thing is, to make sure you get a correct camshaft spec for it. You dont want flat spots

  • sick car!

this car is screaming PUT SINGLE CHAMBER 10 SERIES ON ME RIGHT NOW!

  • Nice GTO, im trying to decide wether to be a GTO, a 350Z or a G35. you should tell me why i should choose a GTO over the other 2 cars just so i have somebody else opinion. I drive a subaru right now u can check my car out on my page. Thanks :)

  • gto do susp mods and you will dust the othrs in corners and you have a v8 which sounds waay more badass

  • If you havent made a purchase yet let me tell you why you should get a GTO. I got a 2005 last year. The 05-06 GTO has a 400HP corvette motor and is rated at 26 mpg (although I've gotten 28 with the 6-speed). Not many were made so this car will be a classic in the near future. Believe it or not this is a great car for road trips and long drives. The ride is as smooth as a cadillacs while still retaining sports car handling thanks to an independent rear suspension w/ limited-slip rear diff.

  • I agree 100% ! My friend has an 06' GTO 6spd & this car is amazing to drive, it's comfortable, it's fast & just a very fun car. I like that there aren't that many around also.

  • Pontiac claims a 12.9 1/4 mile. This car is FAST and if you feel like you need more power, the options are endless and cheaper than hooking up any other brand car. You see 350z's and g35's everywhere but the GTO is definitely an eye catcher. Not to mention the japanese cars come with unimpressive v6 motors with only 300hp

  • I've seen 2 run 12.7 and a '02 WS-6 run 12.6, there's a video of an '06 GTO doing 12.6 stock.

  • there is no GTO running 12.6 stock

  • How would you know?!

  • Because I own one......... because I know many people that own them, vecause I know the world record in them, its easy common knowledge

  • i agree,

  • ive seen a bone stock gto run 13.1

    thats the lowest ive seen

  • thats fast best i did was 13.3

  • 12.92 @ 109 here =) 1.99 60' on street tires.

  • I suck as a driver, and trying to run the quarter mile with a lot of power and stock tires only makes it worse. Look for me to be in the mid to low 12s this year running M/T ET Street bias plys.

  • @ShoddyHog stock l92 heads work well with about 10 degrees split and when ported 6 degress is plenty
