  • Thanks for posting. I love seeing all that snow!!! You will probably find it amusing that on Sunday, January 9, 2011, we in Atlanta, GA, had 2.5 inches of snow. All metro area schools were closed the entire week of Jan. 9th, and many businesses (including mine) were closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Some of us (but not me) tried to use their table-salt salt shakers to try and melt snow and ice off of their driveways and outside stairs. LOL!!!!

  • Great job on the Video, I lived in Western Maryland. We never got that much. For all you people that hate snow. When I was a kid I never went inside unless I had to eat.

  • i want to live in your country

  • i would jump of the roof into the snow :D

  • Thank god Rockford, IL, hasn't seen 2" of snow yet!

  • cool video ,makes me want it to snow NOW ,love the sled going by ,thanks for the tour !!

  • For all of the flatlanders who are not that great at thinking before or after they speak, or just plain thinking in general, yes, we did receive 200 inches of snow over the winter. Snow, being a form of liquid, settles with the wind, as the sun shines on it, and as more falls on top of what is already there. These are accumulated numbers that jandthekids are talking about. No need for nasty comments to display your underdeveloped intellect. ~CRAIGER~

  • @TheVoodooswampshack I hate snow, that's why I live in L.A. My friend lives in Soda Springs, CA right on Donner Pass which gets 411" of snow a year. Every ski trip I go to his house and I have to walk through a damn tunnel of snow just to get there lol. Last year I visited for 4th of July and there was still 5 feet on the ground! I don't see the point honestly. That's just too damn much.

  • this cant be 200 inches of snow. thats 16.667 feet. standard issue telephone pole is 15 feet, its not over the top of it.

  • @rono8582 Your our newest member of the "idiotic comment list" . Congrats Rono,

  • @jandthekids *You're

  • They clear the roads pretty well up there...

  • @pechinrules yeah, lots of practice, thanks for watching.

    J.

  • That might have been 200 inches for the whole year, but not all at once

  • @peak199 He didbn't say "all at once" anyway :P

  • @peak199 Your right, it is for the whole season,

  • what would happen if you climbed the snow banks, would you sink to the bottom or are they hard?

  • @TheUsmc29 No they are ypically hard enough where you can climb on top of them, and for snow pack after a while the sun will hit it, so it will be harder towards the base. Fresh snow will always be soft though until it melts and refreezes.

  • @bradleypridgeon Well said. thanks

    J.

  • i wish it was like that here in washington every winter

  • 200 inches is 16 feet so no way

  • @shelimarc Congrats!!! you just made the " IDIOTS" list ...

  • @jandthekids there is nothing wrong with stating the obvious :)

  • @shelimarc I know there is nothing wrong with stating the obvious, some people like you just make stupid comments about things that you have no knowledge of. Obviously that makes you an idiot. thats me stating the obvious. Thanks for your support :)

  • @shelimarc you are correct dont listen to him. looks to me like 48-60" definitely not 200. maybe 200 over the season.

  • @rono8582 well now your both wrong but that's ok. If we didn't have people like yourselves than there would be no one to raise goats. It just scares me to think that you are probably a registered voter that is helping to ruin our country by making uneducated decisions, very similar to your uneducated comments. Do us a favor and try to be more open minded. Just because your simple mind cant get the concept doesn't mean its not true. take care now. bye bye then.

  • thats not 200 inches thats just from a snowplow

  • @sweden11100 It is 200 inches. Dont tell me it isnt. I was there, you were not! You are another good example of an IDIOT! Thanks for your false statement about my video.

  • @jandthekids just stop getting angry you have angry issues now thats an idot emphises on the i who agrees?

  • @luvineful your right, I do get angry at stupid people, I guess I have to expect that since this is the internet and any moron can get on it without needing to pass an I.Q test. Cant save them all.....

  • @jandthekids LOL

  • come to cape breton canada then u will see snow

  • I like how these people fail to comprehend that the 200" is over the whole season and not on the ground all at once. In a winter season their are warm days that melt some of the snow and it all packs down. I live on Oswego, NY and have seen some deep snow, but never 200" on the ground.

  • I go past here on the way to the Fort Kent area.

  • Ahhh good ol Eagle Lake! Good snowmobile season right there

  • 200 inches?? you do realize that 200 inches of snow is about 16 1/2 feet right? I think you meant to title the video as "20 inches of snow" lol

  • @SteaItheR no, we actually got over 200 inches that year as I mentioned about a 100 times already.

  • @SteaItheR 200 for the whole season until that point

  • wow...just wow!

  • that looks like fun for a little while at least

  • @brandonpfab yeah it is fun, but I had to plow about 3-4 times a week that season.

  • thats nothing come to massachusetts

  • @wingman56 yeah, My family is from Keene N.H. I been watching it on the news. I see you folks are getting bombed this winter. How much snow do you have for the season so far ?

  • @jandthekids close to 60 so far. but it will go up if we get our 15-20 today

  • @wingman56 this video was in 2008 , when I took the video we broke 200 inches for the season. I think we finished around 215 inches or so for the season. We barely have any this year, maybe 2 - 3 feet right now. Funny how fast things change.

  • @wingman56 and i would ad thats nothing come to canada LOL

  • I live in North Dakota, I have no doubt you had 200+ inches of snow. We've only got 30 inches so far, and we do get snow from September into May. Don't think we ever get to 200 inches though, it just gets super cold instead.

And whether or not it's 200 inches, it's still a hell of a lot of snow.

  • more like 2ft

  • Edmonton looks exactly like that right now, maybe a little colder

  • Thats about 11 feet shy of 200 inches

  • @Candelora87 Your are about 11 feet shy of making an intelligent comment. Try harder next time!

  • Comment removed

  • u guuysz r damn liars

ur wastte yute to post the vid on youtube

  • @freshie24ize when you pass 2nd grade writing, Ill respond to you !

  • @jandthekids Maybe if you want to bitch about grammar, then you should spell " I'll " right.

  • @stlblues1993 I did spell " I'll " properly so my grammar isn't the issue. If you want to talk punctuation then by all means speak up smart guy.

  • u guuysz r damn liars

  • @Vstaryder Im sick of people like you. If your to ignorant or stupid to understand my video then go back to 2nd grade. Im banning all moronic comments because of people like you. Go be a fool somewhere else.

  • great video of some deep snow. thanks for sharing.

  • looks like you need to invest in some mattracks

  • yeah go maine!

  • your guys lives suck where i live in southeastern pennsylvania it doesnt snow an inch in december it doesnt snow at all in december and there are no avalanches no floods no mudslides no blizzards no tornadoes no hail no hurricanes this is the good life you guys must have broken backs from shoveling for years i can actually go bike riding all winter ever day

  • 200 in of snow is about 15 feet. There is no possible way that is 15 feet of snow.

  • @MasterXxploder you "Flat Landers" are all the same! it is 200 inches of snow and yes I can do the math. It is 16.6 feet of snow. What many dont realize is that snow is heavy and it compacts itself. It also melts when the sun comes out. We had over 200 inches of total snow for the season. Over 100,000 people in my area witnessed it and you can google it. Unless you live where I live and experienced what we do then you shouldnt make uneducated, moronic, idiotic remarks. Take care now, bye bye

  • @jandthekids I am sad now

  • @jandthekids EXACTLY! It's so annoying when I say yeah we got about 100 inches of snow this year and they look around their like "Well that looks more like 30 inches not 100"

  • @Christiank222 yeah, some people just dont get it. Like im going to lie in my video I made for my family to see. you cant fix stupid... lol take care.

  • @jandthekids yeah there is no way at all this is 200 inches, compacted or not. If for a 3 month season, its possible, but no way you got 200 inches in one storm. Never not a chance not a day. Ive seen 3 feet of snow fall in 24 hours with 6 or 7 foot snow drifts. Sorry main but you are full of shit to say this is 200 inches of snow or ever was.

  • @imsodamnhot Your just another idiot who knows nothing about anything. I never said it snowed 200 inches in one storm. Learn to read, we have a snow season of 7 months here not 3 months. We get snow from Oct to April and sometimes May. I took this video when we broke 200 inches of total snow fall for our season, We actually got over 220 inches total but I didnt want to make another video 2 weeks after this one. By the way I checked out your home page and you look like a Pedophile. ugly Moron!!

  • cant say bored but i can say snowmobile

  • @stealthmeth ohh yeah, we do a lot of sledding!!

  • that window tint is illegal in good old maine

  • @tressner no it isnt ! mine is certified

  • I'd move

  • LUCKY!!!!!!!!! I LOVE SNOW IT NEVER SNOWS THAT MUCH WERE I LIVE!

  • i wish it still snowed like this in Michigan, i could use a good 3 or 4 ft over night

  • holly shit talk about snowed in i go crazy

  • You just carry on like nothing has happend???? If this happend in the UK it would be a national disaster all systems would be shut down, total blackout total system shutdown, you have no idea. we grind to a halt with 1 inch of snow.

  • @sonofhendrix we are just products of our surroundings...

  • @sonofhendrix If you like, i can come plow your town for you? I was afterall born and raised in Northern Ontario, Canada in which this is a seasonal norm....

  • Wow! The earth is where we live, and we think we own the place! This video goes to show that we are still powerless against such a big force!

    Nice Video!!

  • @BorisJ98 thanks,,,,

  • Nice video. Thanks for posting.

  • @Superbates123 sure, anytime

  • Is this 200" in one year or in one snowfall?

  • @abacab87 its the season total. thnx

  • i would LOVE to get 200" in Michigan we get a foot tops from a big storm

  • @Toyeboy89 yeaah thats about common here too but sometimes we get nailed with 20-28 inch storms at a time. It comes from the great lakes and lands here...lol

  • Hey I got a question I live in southern Maine and I love the snow dont get me wrong I wouldnt even mind living in northern maine but where the hell do you guys work in eagle lake because it seems to me that your drive to work would be a bitch LOL

  • @sabulba30 yeah my normal summer drive is an hour 1 way, in the winter its almost double that. go slow and use studded tires...

  • People in maine sound canadian!

  • @ludicer we dont sound french LOL

  • @ludicer ahhh ya tink so do ya? pass da bacan an syrip ehh..lol

  • man thats alot of snow i live in hasbrouck heights nj it snows like that like once a year how frequent does it happen in maine

  • the year finished with 260 inches of Snow (presque Isle Maine), a north american record..including Alaska and canada...alaska has two snow seasons, if you combine them the record is 350 inches of snow.

  • @Ssliasil im in P.I a few times a week. It was a rough winter for sure, I had to plow 3-4 times a week. I think we had a little over 200 inches also that year but at the time of the video it just hit 200"

  • in south wisconsin, we got 114 inces two years ago

  • wow we get that much snow every year up in northern canada

  • i dont get why people freak out about it. i personally would love to have all that snow.

  • because people work and want to get around

  • @GradyRho92 its happening here where i live right now

  • @GradyRho92 You and me both!

  • We had 20ft total last year in N. Michigan,

but like those Syracuse records etc, it's mainly lake effect, not a big deal. 200 inches of the real stuff is something else

  • We live in south central NJ and the wife wants to retire to Maine. I thinks she nuts-god I am going to miss her-think I'll

retire to NC instead. Too much snow for me we have had 2 storms this season for a total of 38 inches and weatherman say more on the way. Thanks for the video

  • Looks like Buffalo weather!

  • Woah nice

  • make are british snow look like a lite frost

  • 200 inches on the year not in one storm. I think the biggest storms were in Syracuse n.y in 2005 and November 9-14 in Chardon Ohio 68 inches fell in a few days.

  • @bobbrode314 yeah we had a storm here in 2001 where 84 inches fell in like 5 days. Walls of snow on the side of the road after the plows went by

  • holy shit

  • We lived in a 2 story apt. house in Rockland. There were 2 buildings on our street and 2 behind us facing the next street. On our street, in between the 2 apt. buildings there was a little one story, one family house. By morning the little house was completely buried. They had to dig a tunnel from their front door to the street to get out. My husband helped.

If you went out of our door, turned right, went to the corner and crossed the street you ended at the path down to the Public Landing

  • lol i live in rockland new york

  • Great Video ! How long did it take for that mountain of snow to melt ? That is incredible ! But I am sure you guys are used to it. Unimaginable. Thanks for the tour.

  • Well I remember getting 6 inches of fresh snow on Mothers Day in May before. Most of the snow is melted by end of May on a normal year..

    C-Ya

  • lol only -20? here in canada we ge like - 40 and -20 was like today and today is considerd warm lol, nice town, love the snow lol :]

  • wanna cookie?

  • 200 inches like 5 meters of snow? i don't think there is so much snow...maybe 100 inches, yes

  • Are you calling me a liar? I live here pal, I know how much snow we got that year. I will spell it out for you... THE TOTAL SNOW FALL FOR OUR WINTER SEASON WAS OVER 200 INCHES. We have 7 months of snow here from Oct to April, sometimes May. Snow compacts itself and it also melts on warmer days. OUR TOTAL SNOWFALL WAS OVER 200 INCHES. 200 INCHES. 200 INCHES. Got it ?

  • @jandthekids

well, the title is CONFUSING: "200 inches of snow"...even in the description you say "Record snow fall over 200" ...my first thought was that you suggest there were 200 inches ON THE GROUND in the video...you say nothing about "our total snowfall was over 200 inches in 7 months"!!! That would be correct!

  • Yea, I'm originally from the great white north UP of michigan. We averaged 200+ a year. /Southern shore of Lake Superior.

ppl don't realize the snow belt runs across all the great lakes.

I haven't seen snow in over 10 years!

  • it also sublimates.

  • why cant we get snow like that down here in the mid-atlantic area!

  • looks like a maze!

  • You know.....I get 500+ inches of snow a season at my house in soda springs. :P

  • I get 1000 inches so there... plus my dad can beat up your dad

  • 1000 inches? where exactly do you live.... On Mt. Baker?

  • LOL, I was thinking maybe he was on the top of Everest.

  • Wow, soda springs is where ?

  • Donner summit area, California

  • I love to watch snow and snow storms but not being there. I was raised in Boston and had enough. Thankful to be in 73 average temp sunny San Diego.

  • I live in Miane and Winter is my favorite season, I enjoy snowmobiling and other activities, and Fall is my second favorite season, If I liked Hot weather I would live in the south.

  • Good for you buddy!

  • Its not hot everywhere in the south..for examle New Orleans reaches temperatures in the 30s, so is in San Diego CA

  • well we have reached 15-20 below every year up here in maine

  • Allagash Maine hit -52 below in 2003. -30 is common here in Jan, Feb
