MB turns characters into beautiful/cute females, and since Morrigan is already one, the makers probably decided it'd be funny to make her all super-deformed. That white stuff is really blood that was colored white to make it look like sweat and the moves that were really bloody, the blood was totally edited out in the US PS1 ver. (but not in the US arcade ver.).

He said it was much easier to simply draw the sprites for a female version, but in a 3d game, that one female version would take the same amount of memory as a full character
