I don't understand this, it doesn't have the electro pioneers "The Screamers" from L.A. California. They started in 77'(a full year before human league). Also missing is Berlin(they went #1 on the billboard charts in the usa. No small feat back then, before depeche mode), DEVO, Missing Persons, etc. etc.
Oh well, I guess the brits really are just a bunch of inbred muppets that wanted to be L.A. surf punks but never could pull it off.
Heaven 17's Temptation was bloody awful and a total contrast to their brilliant earlier and more raw tracks such as I'm Your Money (and the superbly underrated B-Side Are Everything), Play to Win and Penthouse & Pavement. But they all pale in comparison to Dare, which was a masterpiece in my opinion.
I remember my instructor in the 80's a Korean war vet, wanting some music for our Tae-Kwon-Do class to work out by. I brought in my old collection of Human League. Songs like "Mirror Man," were perfect for these classes becauseof the rhythm for punching and kicking in stance motion exercise. Our trainer worked us to death in these 3 hour sessions!
its all good, before the girls and after...more experimental in the beginning and more pop in the end... its like Ultravox with John Foxx and then with Midge Ure...love them both
RIP Martin Rushent !!!

I think in Joanne and Susan's case is a major example of how the course of one's life can change by fate.

Human should have been sang by an Alexander O'Neal type figure. It had that mid 80s soul vibe to it.

I agree with martin Rushant, when they changed producers to jam and lewis it was a diffrent more bland sound they lost their european electro sound.
If the human leauge had stuck with martin and worked abit harder they could have been as big as u2, as theyd broke america with dont you want me

@dougiewhite778 I agree with you on that.Their sound changed with the two producers. It sounded more soulful.

She called herself 'Susanne' between 1981-1986. (her stage name) After that she went back to 'Susan' again.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The Human League were rubbish before Susan and Joanne arrived.

I wouldn't necesserily say that they were rubbish but they were not as good without Joanne and Susan, Rubbish is a bit of a too strong word
