This game is incredible, I came across a remake on bit torrent of the original a year or so with updated graphics. Excellent!!! Now if only someone can do something like that with day of the tenticle and make it playable on windows 7.

Ive been playing this game since 1990. Rented it a few days after it came out at a local video rental store. Got it for Christmas in 1990. Played it non stop all winter into summer of 1990 before beating it with the offical hint book. Been playing on/off since. Ive played all the different versions. I have the pre-release NES Rom of this game for emulation which has the original adult lanaguage, nude statue, and stuff in Teds room that was deleted in the release version due to Nintendo's policys

@vampirerain100 Basically all that happens is a different character stands by sandy and dr fred says hes sorry for her boyfriend dieing. I will post that ending if you want me to.

@gamemaster14neo -- Yes. Also you can kill Dave off, and play with his ghost. When you beat the game with Dave's ghost you get a pretty cool ending talk by Dr. Fred to Dave's ghost and Sandy. People call the ghost playing of kids a glitch, but it was put in the game on purpose.

The deluxe version of maniac mansion for pc looks pretty good but the original version looked very blocky.

i play this game everyday a couple of times through. no, i am not pro. but that proofs that this game is awesome :D

i just can't get tired to play it through :D

if you use glitches you can beat the game using NO skills from specific characters. And you only need to pick up 8 items. all you need is glowing key card key and yellow key but yo grab other things along the way. and the code to inner lab door is 0000 IF you don't fix he wires! and ring the doorbell before going into purple guys area the cutscene will freeze him. You could do this with 2 kids as well.

A neat note is that if you choose a musician, they can play the piano while others can't. The choice of characters is important to do certain actions and to get certain endings.

Cool review. Every time I play this game I turn off their CD Players because it drives me crazy and I can't think. And every time I beat the game I can only beat it by making the Meteor a star and giving him his own t.v. show. LOL! I can't seem to win any other way. I never know which 2 characters to play as?

At first when I tried playing this game I got scared of it because of getting caught by the Edisons. Now I love Weird Ed and have him by my side all the time!

you know what thx for the playthrough i almost did it but i forgot where the sponge is and apart of that the ''thing'' in the underground to drain the water-i forgot to turn it off and...BOOOOOOOOM-

For some reason there was something incredibly scary and disturbing whenever I used to get caught by Edna or anyone. I'm not sure what was scarier, the act of getting caught, or sneaking around dreading getting caught.

You can actually feed the hungry tentacle the bowl of wax fruit after giving him the Pepsi and he will let you pass without you having to exit and re-enter the room. So much to explore in this one, ahead of its time.

And this is one of many ways to beat the game. If you check gamefaqs they probably have a guide for all ways to win. I Once beat it using Bernard to fix the radio upstairs and call the Police.

Great video, but how can you move the cursor so fast ? You have an option for that with an emulator or something ?
