While Windows has more applications and does not automaticly conect to conections you dont want to conect to Mac takes longer to over heat and has less programs you can run.
Why I made the switch - because my job needed it (i'm in the post-production field) and while for the past 10 years I've been holding back, after accommodating to OSX I kinda realized it's the little things that apple does that made me believe in their philosophy, they are for a better computing experience. After all, computers are just a tool so why do you have to spend so much time in making it work as opposed to "it just works" so that you can concentrate on productivity?
@PerfectTemplar You're far more retarded than I apparently ''am''. I don't know about you, but I actually have a life. I don't have the time to be complicating shit more than it could be. I prefer having the same shit done easier and faster than complicating myself to get the same exact result. I know how to use both PERFECTLY, you dumbass. I own BOTH. Use BOTH. But certainly prefer one over the other.
I am an IT specialist, I use a MacBook Pro, but i also have a PC for heavy gaming but I am tired of dealing with people who cant use windows or any computer, and windows in general at work so i just use my MBP for the simplicity I like to come home to something simple.
Although macs are overpriced for their general hardware, they are probably well worth it in terms of the speed. remember OSX is completely different from windows. My $1300 dollar mac has the same hardware as a $800 laptop, BUT in terms of speed it is about the same as my $1000 DESKTOP (I5 750, gtx 460, and 100gb SSD) .
"Mastered" Windows? I highly doubt you would've "mastered" Windows if you continuously got viruses. I'm a gamer so I stick with Windows, yes I know Mac has games but not all games are supported. Also the hardware is completely overpriced, I can afford it although I don't feel like dishing out $3000 for a top of the range iMac. I don't hate Mac, I actually like it, I like UNIX-like Operating Systems.
Hi again, I'm generalizing that Mac itself is for artists. I'm saying that as an artist I recommend it. I'm not saying PC is a complete zero next to Mac when it comes for artists, of course not. But Mac definitely has it's merits. Aperture (Photography), Final Cut Pro X (Film), Logic Studio (Audio). Yet of course the third-party applications there are available for Mac OSX, for instance many from Adobe's bunch of released software. (PS, AF, DW.. etc).
Also macs are not overpriced if you buy a pc with the same hardware it would cost about the same and crazynoob if you were to build a pc with those stats it would cost more so you may as well just buy a mac
@OhSixteenCandles Not really, mac is just an OS. All components found in it, are the exact if not cheaper and worse than found in a custom built PC. Mac is just looks, like an old saying says, you can't judge a book by it's cover. But anywho, the cover don't matter, because it's until you use it, and figure out it's similar to other books you realise, hey! Why'd I pay so much for something, that I could have payed cheaper for the exact same somewhere else, see where I'm going with this?
@Crazyyn00b Then why are you trolling Mac videos on a daily basis? Just because you don't have a Mac, doesn't mean you should hate on them. A Mac is user-friendly and it runs programs seamlessly, unlike a PC sometimes. And the components are fine tuned to work with Mac OSX, and on top of that, did any of you notice how Apple can get Intel chips in their computers before those chips are individually sold on the market. A Mac is not just the OS, but the OS is a big part of it, making it perfect :)
@OhSixteenCandles Mac is for creative artists and work. Mac is weaker for fun. Doesn't matte what you say about the apps, you will eventually end up like every mac user.... getting sick of them.
@OhSixteenCandles Your statement is the most idiotic statement I have ever seen. If you ask any new mac user why they bought a Mac, they will simply say "Because everyone else has or is getting one". It's about brand association, it sets the people apart from the Windows "population", a lot (not all) of people feel more superior due to thinking they aren't using a PC. Although a Mac is a PC. I've got nothing against Mac, just some of the idiots that use it.
@xDaveeedo Dear imbecile, Notice I never mentioned 'PC' on my comment. Mac is NOT a PC. PC may mean Portable Computer, but globally, PC is the term used for WINDOWS.
Leaving that aside, I personally think WINDOWS is best for office, work, studying. Due to their integrated office programs, more compatible, thousands of different options to choose from (hp, toshiba, dell, etc) cheaper (better when it comes to large offices needing several computers).
I, as an artist, find Macs better. FIRST, come on. Apple has everything. iMovie, Garage Band, iPhoto, blah blah.
MAC: Partnered with NVIDIA, iMovie, iPhoto, Garage Band, Final Cut Pro, Logic Express, Logic Studio, Aperture, and iWork, same computer performance all the time, faster. less compatibility. Pricier.
Windows: No good video, audio or photo editing programs from Windows themselves. Microsoft Office Suite. File compatibility. Slowed use over time.
@OhSixteenCandles PC does not stand for Portable Computer, it stands for Personal Computer. People just assume the computer is running Windows because 90% of the time, it is, so your argument against Mac not being a PC is invalid. Apple is partnered with AMD/ATI, not NVIDIA. "No good video, audio or photo editing programs from Windows themselves." Just use programs developed by other companies.
@xDaveeedo Most of the programs I mentioned earlier come already in the computer. Not all the computer users in the world will be downloading keygens for them. Either because they don't want to, don't know how to, or have the money to buy the programs themselves. Are you aware of how much Adobe Photoshop CS5 costs? Sony Vegas Pro 10? Audacity? Just buying these three is around how much you bought the computer for..
@OhSixteenCandles Audacity is a free. There is a lot of free software that is equivalent to programs such as Sony Vegas, Adobe Photoshop CS5 etc. It isn't hard to do a simple Google search for a free equivalent to the programs you mentioned. I guess Mac is good for people who are inept with technology like yourself.
@OhSixteenCandles MAC's are for simple minded idiots, who jump on the band wagon of getting a MAC because it looks "cool". They're over priced for what you get. Why buy a MAC when you could build a PC yourself, with the same spec and hardware cheaper? Another point is that it's people who don't know how to look after their PC's who buys a MAC. "Oh im getting tons of viruses". You know why? because your a dumb fuck who doesnt know how PC's and viruses work.
@Cannibalcorpse55 Well lucky you, you got the time to build one. I DON'T. I have a LIFE. A JOB. SCHOOL. And PROJECTS. I like speed, efficiency and feel of Mac.
@OhSixteenCandles Oh guess what? I also have a life. A job, go to University, have assignments to do and even socialize. Because building a PC isn't that difficult, and does not take that much time. Your comment just tells me that you're too dumb to do it.
@OhSixteenCandles i agree to some degree but pc is great for gaming and you can be creative on it i think macs are for show offs you buy one just to say hey i got a laptop that cost £2000 (not being nasty i have a mac too)
after getting a mac i only stare at it there is nothing to do :s watch video listen music thats about it ... can do the same on my ipod :P still trying to figure it out why do i need mac if some one can give me some tips will help a lot a bit Tiered of ... Turn on mac ... Turn off :/
how can you guys even afford a mac. I would looooooooovvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee it if i had a mac. but there just too expensive! So i have to stick with a pc :(
I liked the design. I was tired of using Windows and paying for virus protection. I had the money, so fuck it. I spent 1,598.96 on the basic Imac desktop. ( with warranty ) I should have gotten a gaming computer....opps.
Macs are great, but I hate Apple's mice and keyboards, and it's so fail that there's virtually no support for any external control devices not made by Apple. Windows supports virtually everything on the market. OS X only supports Apple's peripherals, and Apple sucks at making those. They both have their ups and downs, but if you go with Apple, you're stuck with Apple all the way. All or nothing.
@Vacmachine Uh, yeah, basic USB keyboards will work, though they have no command key so the bindings and positions get all screwed up. On top of that, if you have a keyboard like the Logitech ones with screens, they won't work because there is no support software for them on the Mac. The screen will show the screensaver the whole time. Extra buttons won't work.
Mice with more than 3 buttons will bind to some defaults, but they are not adjustable without 3rd party software.
all i ever hear is games, games, games. Seriously, how old are you people. Why would you spend that much money to play games. Most people I know use their computers to actually create things, not get to the next level or beat their previous score. With all the amazing software for 3d design and movie making, you could create games instead of play them. OSX brother.
@cansande8520 If you're going to create a computer game, you're target market should probably be Windows first and foremost if you want to make money, and hence you will need to develop it, at least partially, on Windows. Just saying...
Hey guys which is better? Sony Vaio ot macs? I dont play games that much cause I have a ps3 and I always use facebook and other social networking and other stuff Sometimes I do my work by using microsoft office'
I wont swap to a mac because; Mac's are over priced spec for spec you pay more for a mac, with pc-type laptops there is more customizable, a pc can do everything a mac can do and more, upgrading a PC any one with some basic computer knowledge can do it and it's easier and cheaper once again...
(so you can buy your "nikies" but i will still run faster.)
I just got my iMac I had some left over money and wanted to get a Mac since like 07 so now I Finally I have and I Love It it's just Beautiful and is nice but is Kinda harder to get use to but I <3 & Microsoft Too
The "eloquence" of OSX? I think you mean 'simplicity', dear boy... Not quite the same thing...
OSX is actually extremely *ineloquent* when you try to make it do something beyond what Steve Jobs & his cohorts thought people should want to do on their personal computers.
Windows, even "7", may seem a bit rough in comparison, but that's because it's *rugged*, adaptable, accommodating of its user's wishes & needs - and so, by necessity, a little more of a "loose fit" to its hardware & applications
I got a Mac after going to the Apple store to get a new iPod. I hung around and watched the Macs in action, and decided it was for me. The tech support is great. (In my case- I don't know about anyone else.)
Perhaps the most off the wall reason I switched is that I have 3 cats, and really got tired of worrying about the PC cooling fans clogging up with hair. They also can't sleep on my Mac like they wanted to on my PC tower.
...and no, I'm not a Mac fangirl. It's just a better fit for me.
I am an owner of both and i have gotten sick and tiered of the viruses on my pc and people will say if you get viruses its your fault ....ok that may be true but who wants to have all these restrictions just so they don't get a virus . Also i am in music production and Mac is far superior for the job and im sure people will try to say that is nonsense and all i can say is you will never understand until you own a Mac yourself they are by far way way better OS . I will never look back !!!
i don't change because windows 7 is somthing that you can not change with osx 10
i work fin and also I'm a programer and i know there is no way to find software like that i have in windows.
also in windows i can find too much free applications i don't need to pay for update and also when i want i can upgrade my pc but you have no chance with mac.

I want to switch to Mac for meany reasons. I have XP and it is extremely prone to spyware adware tracking cookies ext slows down over time, it's main browser is slow so I use plug ins. The graphics are not that great at all.
the guy told me in mac yesterday that windows based pcs had 200,000 virus's and macintosh had just 9 single virus's so i hope that answers alot of your questions
my sister's. Nice to get one for free. After getting a major virus, it was unusable. Before going to the University of Montana in 2005, I had gotten an e-Mac desktop computer for my birthday. Four years later it practically died on me. November of '09, I purchased my current desktop Mac computer and I love it.
The very first computer my family owned was a '95 Compaq Presario. After a few years it died on us and we switched to laptops. My mother's first laptop was a PC, but after having so much trouble with viruses and whatnot she looked into Macs and has not turned back. As for myself, the first computer I owned was a $400 Mac that had to be at least 2 inches thick (it was used from a friend of my mother's). It was super old. After accidentally damaging that laptop, I obtained a PC laptop that was...
i like windows because i know a lot about computers i build them and i know how to make them last forever (unlike some shit heads). plus mac is really not for me. i had one and it was really not compadible to a lot of things.
I remained with Windows because I value full control over my branded hardware, and I only build with unlocked CPUs, something apple will never do, that allow me to overclock way beyond spec. Pure over-the-top processing power, and of course, compatibility with everything out there.
I switched over because I got tired of virus after virus infecting my computer. I got tired of the spyware, the malware, everything. I don't have that problem now that I switched to a mac. If there is a program that won't run on OS X, I can install windows on my mac run said programs (you know, for school and stuff).
@germanpanzerww2 I get tired of paying for it every year. And don't give me that "AVG is FREE" garbage, because even though it's free, it doesn't do a thing! Don't knock a Mac until you try it. and if you have and you don't like it oh well. I like my Mac, it works for me. :)
I like that this video is an honest and curious question versus tons of the fanboy/hater ones about bashing. very nicely done! If I used a mac, it'd be a Hackintosh so I don't spend twice the price for an old system hardware wise when all a Mac really is, is the unix/bsd based OS (which you can get free unix distros to try too if you like Mac's OSX, not just Linux distros out there on the web). Windows does alot but my needs can also be met with Linux and it's free.
i switched after my hp integrated graph card started to die, MADE EVERYTHING BLURRY, SCRAMBLED, ETC.
i didnt really want to switch because i kinda like windows, and i like HP since they were my first computer, and just like what the compnay has done over the years....
other than my card dying... im not sure, i just like the features ( i hate how the pro 13's are lacking in up to date but 2.66ghz is still great) and i like the reliability
My compaq cq60 will no longer charge & my hp mini 110-1100 is in the shop. No idea when I'm getting that one back so for right now I'm using my moms Toshiba netbook. I'm officially switching to a macbook in early dec (when i do all my christmas shopping). I HATE Windows with a passion and I've always loved macs but never had enough money to get one...Well now I do! :D
The reason i switched to Mac is because it's nice to use something new. I just wish Apple would get lower there prices. Maybe when they get a better foothold in the computer market.
Not switching to mac because I don't see the point. For what I use my pc for windows xp is doing me just fine no point in paying for something that I will probably do the same stuff Im doing now but with a slightly cleaner interface.
@Zario01 Bad example dude, bad rationalisation. Alienware are considered overpriced, but at the same time, you can't compare prices without comparing specs. It's like me saying the most expensive ferrari is x times more expensive than the Golf.
@CraigGordonSpace Aww thats sweet, although it doesn't quite explain why my university has hundreds of Windows PC's but not a single Mac. It also doesn't explain why at the hospital i work at they use windows. Nor at the buisness my dad works at all use Windows. It also fails to explain why i, a 21 year old "casual gamer" who has new vegas pre-ordered for his xbox, uses windows OVER the imac's in the house. Does it now?
@Trusselz its because windows has been around longer than osx and everyones got used to having them so they dont want to switch beleive me ive worked with both macs and pc infact ive never owned a mac and im typing this on a windows computer and i cant tell you macs are more reliable and in a few weeks im getting one and then i will be a happy person
@CraigGordonSpace In my house there are: 2 iMac's, 1 mac book, 1 windows PC, 1 windows laptop. I have the option to use Macs if i want. I watched my Dad's iMac not recognise the Apple mouse and keyboard, repeatedly, have repeated crashes, do a complete system restore and it still crashes. Where as i'm sitting on my windows 7 laptop which i only turn off via hibernation very occasionally for train journeys which hasn't crashed on me in over 3 months (that was when i bought it).
@Trusselz i could give you a reason for everyone of those things you mentioned but youtube has a character limit for its comments so im not going to bother
@whiteoreoxx As true as that is in some cases, its totally incorrect in others. Outlook changed its settings to allow email-borne viruses to automatically download to your computer. Thats Windows' fault, not the user. However, in the case of hardware and gaming especially, a PC of similar price will do better every time.
@whiteoreoxx I agree. Any computer (Mac, PC, or Linux, or whatever) can get viruses. Its the fault of the user for not being more careful online. But PC are more widely used so they obviously have more viruses. Thats changing for Macs as they gain popularity,
I really want and need a mac operating computer and I want your opinions about it. I am getting a lapyop for my high school in Australia and it is $1500 over here. Is it worth it(in your opinion)?
My high school uses Mac and I'm interested in graphic designing and technology stuff. Would this, let's say a Macbook Pro, suitable for me? and what size?
Well I only used PC's all my life, so im very familiar with all the Windows Products. This is the reason why I switched. I was tired of all my PC's slowing down. I was tired of my PC's getting viruses when my family used them. There was so much maintenance I had to do to all my PC's but I thought that was what you had to do with all Computers. Then my lap top died. I needed one for a trip I had to go on. Well My friend whom was an Apple fan boy lent me his Mac Pro Lap top. I was blow away.
I'm staying with PC because i don't want to buy a mac pro to put in my studio capture card and my studio sound cards. Besides you can build a PC with the same specs for half of the price
I switched because my 2nd HP laptop died on me 2 months after the warranty. I switched because of Windows Vista. Because I play games on the Xbox ans PS3 on a giant screen not on a computer. I switched to learn a new OS. I switched because of the build quality of Mac computers and their design. I switched because of the trackpad on the Macbooks is simply the best. Like you I never looked back. And every day at work, my PC reminds me why I switched.
@WideSplit You switched becuase it died 2 months after warranty? guess what it was probably only 150 to fix it from hp mabe a lil more. You switched because of vista?what about it i had it and still do. Becuase you play games on consoles and not a computer? guess what depending on your video card you can connect your pc to your tv so yes you can hook it up to a 50 in monitor. You switched becuase of the build quality of a mac and their design? it looks simple. and your pc at work must be old.
@WideSplit You switched because you don't know how to surf the internet safely. You switched because you bought a shitty premade computer such as: dell, HP, toshiba, etc.. You switched because your PC can't "match up" to your consoles. You switched because you didn't know how to hook up ur computer to a T.V. You switched because the "quality" build of mac's design? Seriously? These are all reasons BECAUSE! HE DID NOT BUY A CUSTOM MADE COMPUTER! OOOOOOOOORAH PC GAMERS!
@superactive300 The only point you make is that I'm stupid to pay 600$ every 6 or 7 years for a new console (Xbox 360 was released in 2005) rather than getting a new PC (or upgrade it) every two years to play the SAME games on high settings... Great logic bro!
bcz my acer has no battery charger or anything else and the apps in the mac look nice and the reducing of viruses bcz i had to format it around 5 time so no windos

I think that a Mac is better but I have a PC right now because I play games on my computer. I'm getting a 360 though and might buy a Mac after my PC breaks.
@gregoomen Yes you can definetly play counter strike because Steam is now native to mac, although not all steam games are on mac yet though, im not sure about Mw2 though, look around you might find something
@gregoomen You can always boot to windows on your mac by using boot camp. It gives you the option on boot so you can play games and have OSX on your mac.
I have switched out house from PC to Mac from end to end. For every Mac I have had -- I go through 2-3 pc's. The hardware just seems way better, they are more beautiful and inspiring. I used 7 Ultimate and that was the closest I came to a Mac OS ... but the hardware supporting it stunk (Dell). I've used so many different brands of computers and laptops and the only one that seems to hold is the good ole Mac. We've exorcised the house of PC's and are happy.
Hey Jon! I know this video is from a while back ago but Ill still answer. I actually didnt really switch. Ive always used my parents computer and I heard from friends and family everywhere that Macs were better and thats just what I thought. I slowly started getting to know more about them as I got more interested into comuters and Ive been learning so much just by the Internet and through school. Now we have a couple Macs. I finally I decided to get a job and buy a MacBook Pro 13"!!!.......
I switched to Mac in 2005 for the same reason jon4lakers did and I haven't looked back either. I also switched all my remaining pc computers to Linux.
I am switching to a macbook pro even though I like Windows a lot :). The reason for my switch is the overall build quality and aesthetics of the mac systems.
I basically plan on keeping a copy of Windows 7 through Boot camp for intensive college projects & research and also run Ubuntu 10.4 through vmware for my OS development classes (I am a CS major).
Hmm..Well ii have been a windows user 4 my whole life..ii have used apple approximately 5 times in my whole life but ii didn't even understand it bc ii was so young..iiM going away 2 College in September and iiM getting a MacBook pro in 2 weeks and 3 days as my main laptop..iiM switching bc ii want 2 try something new and ii hear apple is really great!!..By all of the videos I have watched on YouTube iiM pretty sure ii wnt b let down!! Mac Here ii come!! =D
i want to switch because 1. video editing software is not good 2. internet explorer sucks 3. music recording sucks 4. too many virus risks 5. not what i want in a computer 6. no webcam 7. i can get all of the programs i want on a mac 8. mac has photobooth 9. did i mention that macs dont get virus as often 10. sleeker design why i cant get a mac 1. too expensive 2. craigslist and ebay are a little to sketchy to be buying a computer 3. i cant find anyone who will sell me one
@XXTHE12THMANXX actually. apples software team updates the software just a little bit every day. therefore viruses are not valid within that time. and the code for mac viruses are so long that people dont have the patience. and if they do code one, the software teah updated the software by that time and it is no longer valid
Grabbing a mbp before I head off to some decent (hopefully) university. But as far as viruses go, in my personal experience NEVER use norton or macafee (sp?)
I purchased a Mac mini yesterday and also got an iPod touch and so far I LOVE it, I love the fact that everything is intertwined unlike Windows I don't need to download a ton of programs to get things done which kind of made me feel lost after turning my Mac on for the first time.
I still have a PC as I have only just finished building it up as a gaming rig so I'll be using Mac for everything but gaming
bored of PCs.. Mac are more efficient and love the operating system!! it's easier and looks great. well worth the money. love all your videos. btw used a pc for 14 years!
bored of PCs.. Mac are more efficient and love the operating system!! it's easier and looks great. well worth the money. love all your videos. btw used a pc for 14 years!
want to do on your machine. I also love the fact that you can personalize your PC, not only the case but the internals. You can build a Windows machine to do exactly what you want it to. Either for work, or play. Or both. If I'm correct, I'm sure someone's found a way to install a Mac OS onto a PC. Don't quote me on that, it's not fact.
One thing that is fact is, a computer can have higher performance for a lower price. That's why I wont switch. I can get more for my money. My own opinion.
Alright, first off your problem with using windows, wasn't Windows. It was Norton, the last time I used that useless antivirus was YEARS ago. I've found a free, dependable antivirus that keeps almost every virus at bay, and any viruses I do end up getting that it may not take care of, I deal with on my own. >.>
Secondly, why I wouldn't switch. I love computers because you can upgrade them to play the latest games, the operating system is stable, and fully functional for anything you might>>
i used to use linux but i was sick and tired of the crappy open source software that came with it even though it is verry stable

However, Sony Vegas Pro 10 is not available for mac users yet.
I personally own both, mac and pc. PC I use for work, studies, etc. etc.
Mac I use for entertainment mainly, ranging from Sims 3 to Compositing. Movies, music, what-not.
I'm not saying Windows isn't good at these either, but for me.. my personal preference... I choose mac. :)

But anywho, the cover don't matter, because it's until you use it, and figure out it's similar to other books you realise, hey! Why'd I pay so much for something, that I could have payed cheaper for the exact same somewhere else, see where I'm going with this?
Crazyyn00b 6 months ago

Doesn't matte what you say about the apps, you will eventually end up like every mac user.... getting sick of them.

not a shout at you but this comment in general :p
angriesthedgehog 6 months ago
@OhSixteenCandles I find this highly opinionated.
13579Winter 6 months ago
@OhSixteenCandles Your statement is the most idiotic statement I have ever seen. If you ask any new mac user why they bought a Mac, they will simply say "Because everyone else has or is getting one". It's about brand association, it sets the people apart from the Windows "population", a lot (not all) of people feel more superior due to thinking they aren't using a PC. Although a Mac is a PC. I've got nothing against Mac, just some of the idiots that use it.
xDaveeedo 6 months ago
@xDaveeedo Dear imbecile, Notice I never mentioned 'PC' on my comment. Mac is NOT a PC. PC may mean Portable Computer, but globally, PC is the term used for WINDOWS.
Leaving that aside, I personally think WINDOWS is best for office, work, studying. Due to their integrated office programs, more compatible, thousands of different options to choose from (hp, toshiba, dell, etc) cheaper (better when it comes to large offices needing several computers).
OhSixteenCandles 6 months ago
@xDaveeedo Now Mac.
OhSixteenCandles 6 months ago
@OhSixteenCandles PC does not stand for Portable Computer, it stands for Personal Computer. People just assume the computer is running Windows because 90% of the time, it is, so your argument against Mac not being a PC is invalid. Apple is partnered with AMD/ATI, not NVIDIA. "No good video, audio or photo editing programs from Windows themselves." Just use programs developed by other companies.
xDaveeedo 6 months ago
@xDaveeedo Most of the programs I mentioned earlier come already in the computer. Not all the computer users in the world will be downloading keygens for them. Either because they don't want to, don't know how to, or have the money to buy the programs themselves. Are you aware of how much Adobe Photoshop CS5 costs? Sony Vegas Pro 10? Audacity? Just buying these three is around how much you bought the computer for..
OhSixteenCandles 5 months ago
@OhSixteenCandles Audacity is a free. There is a lot of free software that is equivalent to programs such as Sony Vegas, Adobe Photoshop CS5 etc. It isn't hard to do a simple Google search for a free equivalent to the programs you mentioned. I guess Mac is good for people who are inept with technology like yourself.
xDaveeedo 5 months ago
@OhSixteenCandles Macs are for uneducated hipsters, you mean.
Soreanol 5 months ago
@OhSixteenCandles MAC's are for simple minded idiots, who jump on the band wagon of getting a MAC because it looks "cool". They're over priced for what you get. Why buy a MAC when you could build a PC yourself, with the same spec and hardware cheaper? Another point is that it's people who don't know how to look after their PC's who buys a MAC. "Oh im getting tons of viruses". You know why? because your a dumb fuck who doesnt know how PC's and viruses work.
Cannibalcorpse55 5 months ago
@Cannibalcorpse55 Well lucky you, you got the time to build one. I DON'T. I have a LIFE. A JOB. SCHOOL. And PROJECTS. I like speed, efficiency and feel of Mac.
OhSixteenCandles 5 months ago
@OhSixteenCandles Oh guess what? I also have a life. A job, go to University, have assignments to do and even socialize. Because building a PC isn't that difficult, and does not take that much time. Your comment just tells me that you're too dumb to do it.

@OhSixteenCandles Or people who just don't want to use a Mac?

I hate mac cause of the fanboys and their computers cost twise as much for same specs.
I dual boot with Windows cause the creative suite doesn't run under wine.
and fixing problems in linux is really easy just copy and paste stuff from ubuntu forums to terminal.
also I never had a virus on my windows that my antivirus didn't stop.

PoliticalHell 7 months ago
@PoliticalHell Wtf are you on about, mac support all keyboards and mice that I know of?
Vacmachine 6 months ago
@Vacmachine Uh, yeah, basic USB keyboards will work, though they have no command key so the bindings and positions get all screwed up. On top of that, if you have a keyboard like the Logitech ones with screens, they won't work because there is no support software for them on the Mac. The screen will show the screensaver the whole time. Extra buttons won't work.
Mice with more than 3 buttons will bind to some defaults, but they are not adjustable without 3rd party software.
PoliticalHell 6 months ago
all i ever hear is games, games, games. Seriously, how old are you people. Why would you spend that much money to play games. Most people I know use their computers to actually create things, not get to the next level or beat their previous score. With all the amazing software for 3d design and movie making, you could create games instead of play them. OSX brother.
cansande8520 8 months ago
@cansande8520 If you're going to create a computer game, you're target market should probably be Windows first and foremost if you want to make money, and hence you will need to develop it, at least partially, on Windows. Just saying...

I grew up on Macs. We had Oregon Trail and Amazon trail. Then 2002 came and my family switched to XP.
Best thing about Macs: better OS sounds, Nanosaur, and battery life for laptops.
Worst thing about Macs: Incompatible, high-cost, necessary accessories for any portable iShit; they just aren't nearly as useful or workable as PCs
Best thing about PCs: COMPATIBLE, customizable, you can do a lot more with it, more games, better support
Worst thing: comparably worse battery life...

I think that a Mac is better but I have a PC right now because I play games on my computer. I'm getting a 360 though and might buy a Mac after my PC breaks.

Pros: they have a 102 bit operrating system and faster ram speed
Cons: can't run alot of software, expensve, not alot of firewalls, cant run games well, bott camp sucks

I switched to Mac in 2005 for the same reason jon4lakers did and I haven't looked back either. I also switched all my remaining pc computers to Linux.

I switched from pc to a mac and I kicked myself in the butt for not switching before!!!
Totally love my mac x x x

I am switching to a macbook pro even though I like Windows a lot :). The reason for my switch is the overall build quality and aesthetics of the mac systems.
I basically plan on keeping a copy of Windows 7 through Boot camp for intensive college projects & research and also run Ubuntu 10.4 through vmware for my OS development classes (I am a CS major).

@TitoTheCrabman Macs don't get viruses often? not true they are equally prone to getting viruses as pc's are
XXTHE12THMANXX 1 year ago
@XXTHE12THMANXX actually. apples software team updates the software just a little bit every day. therefore viruses are not valid within that time. and the code for mac viruses are so long that people dont have the patience. and if they do code one, the software teah updated the software by that time and it is no longer valid

I think you should stick to whatever you are more comfortable and familiar with. But if you keep complaining about your PC (or Mac) try switching.

I've been a PC user for almost 14 years now... but for the past few years I have been eyeing on Mac and I've decided to make the switch. :D

Get the free version of avg off their site, works amazingly well. And if your really virus paranoid grab spy sweeper or spybot search and destroy.

I still have a PC as I have only just finished building it up as a gaming rig so I'll be using Mac for everything but gaming

want to do on your machine.

I would if I could and put windows 7 on it. I here that win. 7 runs good on a make. My computer is a Dell I like the computer.
