The way the reporter said this is a bunch of aging men. Makes it sound like they are dozy idiots who don't know a thing about sport, a lot of them are heads of International sport federations, and even more are heads of NOC's. Chicago lost because America lacks culture and they've managed to spread that across 8 Olympics. Whereas Brazil is vibrant and colourful and full of culture. Also the bulk of the TV money comes from the BBC not NBC. Also London won in 2012 because its bid was the best.

"They like our money?" Uh... it's NBC's money, not exactly the gold reserve or public taxation. Chicago lost for much the same reason that Paris did in 2005 - arrogance. Plus when Michelle Obama spoke about growing up dreaming of the Olympics, you just knew she was making it up - if she dreamt about sport at all as a child, it was probably dreams of dating an NBA star or the like. She probably didn't even know who Mark Spitz or Olga Korbut were.

Just because Chicago wasn't chosen, it doesn't mean they don't care about the USA. I hate these selfish americans who think they are the best in the world and only ones capable of holding a huge event, while no other country should have any privilege or win a competition.

Besides, the USA have had lots of Summer and Winter Olympic Games before, so gimme a break and stop crying about your loss and being that jealous.
