Yeah, Red Bull. If you don't have the cash to keep a warbird like this flying on your own cash, then suck it up. Donate to a warbird or sit back and say nothing.
@Nfarce haha havent seen/read a stupid person like you for a while...or i could say....if you dont have the right info, then suck it up or sit back and say nothing :D
they´ve got a collection of warbirds and ahhh yeah sort of a small hangar for them
the best fighter to ever come out of ww2 nothing sounds better than a big radial wasp r2800 and not mention the beauty and distinctness of its gull wing
The US Navy tested the F4U against the P51 (and p38 and f6f). Combat pilots flew the aircraft against each other. Result: F4U wins. Can't argue with the historical importance of the P51., though!
@jkaanta I used to work at Precsion Airmotive in Everett Wa. next to the Boeing 747 plant. THE R2800 IS CRANKING 2000 HP. THE P-51 IS CRANKING 1650-1750. 300 HP DIF. I WAS TOLD THAT JUST 2 CYLINDERS OF THE 18 THAT THE R 2800 Pratt & Whitney, DISPLACES MORE HP AND MORE QUBIC INCH THAN 1 CHEVY 327 ENGINE. 18 CYLINDERS PER ENGINE. IN THE DC-6'S CASE THERE WERE 4. GIVE ME THE HP WHEN YOU ARE TALKING PERFORMANCE. THE RELIABLITY OF THE R2800 WAS SECOUND 2 NONE. YOU COULD SEIZE 9 AND KEEP FLYING.
My pa flew one of these in WW2. It is so ugly it is beautiful - my pa was too.

I love this plane. My Grandfather flew the F4U and the F6F in WWII. Always wanted to ride in one or fly one. Guess I'll have to get an RC instead.
