@4x4forlyfe A lope tune is nothing but increasing the pump stretch to over fuel to make the lope. It is only used for simulation and not ment to be used off idle and while driving. I am not positive on this statement but i think a lope tune is bad for the VP44.
@erk409 its not the best for it but on the flip side this truck has a monster stage 1 vp which is the reason its loping. and you are correct on the pump stretch I used to run a quad... pos if you ask me
@Typhlosion100 No. A thumpr cam is for gasoline engines. Diesels do not use different cam lobe indexs to make this effect. It has an injection pump that delivers high pressure to the the injector. The injector acts as a delevery device to with stand high compression ratios with it's spring pressure.The reason why this truck sounds the way it does is a mixture of many things such as a big injection pump. dilvery lines, connection tubes, low compression pistions, turbos, etc.
no kiddin! well its my buddies truck and the only mods i know of are the 250hp injectors, stage 1 monster pump, twin turbos, water meth, ARP head studs, some head work, full built trans, fuel system, dual 5" exhaust is all I can recall should be a high 12 sec truck
@Txpsd9673 yep haha, i guess what i was gonna do was put a bigger exhaust system, about 5in, new air intake, injectors, and maby a new turbo just to get some more air and fuel flow. Cummins should be able to handle that.
@DodgeCumminsMan56 what year is it? the first thing you HAVE to have is a fuel system either FASS or Airdog, then exhaust, intake, GAUGES, depending on the year model get some tuning, edge or quadzilla for 98-02 and efi live for 03-10, then by this point your trans will hate you so you HAVE to do that auto build is around 4-5,000 manual build is 1-2k, then injectors, then a turbo. after all that should have a nasty quick truck! that pretty much where im at right now and im knockin on 500hp door

The part i think that is going to get me the most is the tranny. Do you have a video of you truck on there?
@DodgeCumminsMan56 well like I said this ones not mine, most parts in the trans were built by "monster mike" creator of the nastiest vp44 injection pumps on the market. Custom TC that has the flywheel bolted to it indestructable, shafts are dog eared and lock in also indestructable, Custom VB, and the internals all built by the best guy in san antonio. In ur case id look up "Goerend" transmissions. some of the best stuff on the market. call them they will tell you everything you need to know

I hear it works even better than an ATS 5 star. and its only $1700 or around there for the TC and flexplate that you need for it i guess.
