It's difficult for people to believe that there's really something wrong when one has FM. I have it, and I'm a man - FM is usually associated with women, I'm told. I have the usual FM trigger points (I nearly jumped off my Dr.'s table), migraines, TMJ disorder, bowel probs., trouble sleeping, etc. Folks, this diagnosis is extremely difficult as it's arrived at by exclusion of other maladies. It can become extremely debilitating - I know, & Mary Ann knows. I wish you blessings & healing.

Hi there! I have FM too, and it's no fun. These things help... Eat whole foods, along the lines of a mediterranian diet, stay away from processed foods, artificial sweetners, msg, caffeine, etc., have your vitamin D level checked, stretch daily & walk, do more as you are able, take vitamins (w/o artificial sweetener). Also helps to do progressive relaxation before sleeptime. These things help, my doctor has seen improvement among many patients. Try it for 6 months.

Im sure you mean well Kdawg270. If it were simple reality of mind over matter, Im sure MaryAnne would think herself a perfect Superwoman like in the comic books, and escape all the pain and suffering she has and is going through now. Lifes problems are not that simple, and we all must deal with this life in each of our own way. God has a reason and Plan for all of us to fulfill. The decisions we make on how we deal with it individually, goes much deeper than mind over matter.
This is a very dangerous theology. I had a friend who espoused this. She is no longer with us. Not from disease. She took her own life. People can do a lot to make themselves sick, and poor thinking is one. But there is a lot more to it than that and it is dangerous and evil to suggest that people bring all disease upon themselves. Certainly Job didn't.

I work for an organization that helps people with disabilities. On average it take 18 months from the time you apply to get accepted for Social Security Disability. They backpay you for some of that time when you are accepted. Since your doctor backs up your diagnosis it might not take as long. One very important reason for getting on Disability is that you get Medicare with it. Good luck.

The doc declaring you as disabled is a recognition of the seriousness of your condition. It doesn't change who you are - the flame of your candle burns brightly, even when the winds blow. At least with a doc declaring you disabled, you can have some income from that insurance you had been paying all those years. Btw, if they want to test you, don't lift anything. It caused someone to loose benifts that I know.

Disabled is only a technical medical term making it possible to solve some of the practical problems of having fibromyalgia. Personally, i think, you are very able so don't label yourself. Things may eventually get better. Keep the hope.

If it were simple reality of mind over matter, Im sure MaryAnne would think herself a perfect Superwoman like in the comic books, and escape all the pain and suffering she has and is going through now. Lifes problems are not that simple, and we all must deal with this life in each of our own way. God has a reason and Plan for all of us to fulfill. The decisions we make on how we deal with it individually, goes much deeper than mind over matter.

This is a very dangerous theology. I had a friend who espoused this. She is no longer with us. Not from disease. She took her own life. People can do a lot to make themselves sick, and poor thinking is one. But there is a lot more to it than that and it is dangerous and evil to suggest that people bring all disease upon themselves. Certainly Job didn't.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope that you can continue to deal and live with your pain and not let it control your life. I think that you may be eligible for social security benefits from the government. Try asking your doctor, who should know what you can do. Also, I enjoyed your song and all of your music. You have a very unique and lovely voice. Not like the others I have heard. Please don't stop singing.

I really don't like doctors. Did you try any unorthodox treatnments, ie meditation. yoga, eating bizzare vegetables/fruits or acupuncture ? Anyways, best wishes

RD Jim, it seems to be a tough question. I have never knowingly conversed with the Deity, but that may be my own lack of perception. For those who claim they have, it seems to be different for each person. For some it is manifested by actual words or a voice. Others describe it as a feeling. For some it is more abstract — a certain sound or sight that conveys the message, such as a babbling brook, or a bird in flight, the sound of wind. As I stated, it is seems to be a tough question.

I work for an organization that helps people with disabilities. On average it take 18 months from the time you apply to get accepted for Social Security Disability. They backpay you for some of that time when you are accepted. Since your doctor backs up your diagnosis it might not take as long. One very important reason for getting on Disability is that you get Medicare with it. Good luck.

Yes, I thank God daily for my station. I wasn't 'using any sexuality', not sure what you mean? If you don't approve of how I look... not sure what to say, that's His department as well. I prayed for a blessing that the video would be as He wants it, and I am confident He provided that; instructions even to bearing the Cross. This was all for His glory, commanded by Him to His servant.

Fantastic and powerful song, Ysabella. One little complaint. You say, "if you're Christian you know...etc." Well, I'm not Christian, as many people are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddist and they also can 'know' what you are saying and pray for you as I do. We can dig the words of the Christian Bible as I, Jewish man can. I believe in God & our individual power to create our destiny and do good or evil. Don't in heaven and hell. I feel we're here to learn and our souls are eternal. Bless you.

The doc declaring you as disabled is a recognition of the seriousness of your condition. It doesn't change who you are - the flame of your candle burns brightly, even when the winds blow. It sputters a bit, sure, but it always casts an amazing light in the darkness. I hope you continue to illuminate our shores - you make the seas of life a brighter place.

This path for you is blessed. Have you done the prayer of St. Francis? "Make me an instrument of Your peace....." At least with a doc declaring you disabled, you can have some income from that insurance you had been paying all those years. Btw, if they want to test you, don't lift anything. It caused someone to loose benifts that I know.

Disabled is only a technical medical term making it possible to solve some of the practical problems of having fibromyalgia. Personally, i think, you are very able so don't label yourself. Things may eventually get better. Keep the hope.

Being labeled "disabled" isn't a cause for alarm. You are now entitled to a load of benefits (at least you would if you were in Canada, with our socialized medicine ;-))

Please do not let anyone else "label" you and tell you what you can and cannot do. You know what you are capable of, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Don't get stuck in the label, it will only bring you down, and we want you to shine! I also urge you to look into other types of therapy, if you haven't already, not just traditional western medicine. There is so much out there that could help you! God Bless!

"Disabled" is only a convienient label. You are only as physically disabled as you let yourself be. I think you have the strength,to reduce your illness to a label,and a condition you can live with.
