Beldum has the same catch rate as a legendary like Mewtwo. So even if you found a regular Beldum and caught it without a Master Battle, its something to freak out over.
I've personally never been able to get a shiny using the chaining process, but i have been lucky enough to run into a shiny beldum without chaining. I had like 4 masterballs thought so i was lucky. I spend enough time in the GTS that i have like 75 different OT ID's....so i win the lottery more often than most.
This video reminds me of the time I was bs'ing a Vibrava chain in this area (I'm horrible at chaining XD) and actually got a shiny out of it! He's a Flygon now and I wuv him. :3
if you want to manipulate your ds clock DO NOT just make your ds think its tomorrow, u will still have 2 deal with the same swarm, instead,do this, set you ds clock to 23:59 (1 minute b4 midnight) then, turn off your ds, and turn it back on, and go into your pkmn game BEFORE your ds clocks goes to midnight, stay in-game untill midnight, talk to dawn's/......whatever the boy's name is...little sister and the swarm would have changed, i hope this helps^_^

dude just cheat the system man, by chaging the time clock on your DS and save every time before you do that so you see a new swarm every time :D you can get like 25 swarms in 1hour :D

hmmm i'm chaining beldum now and i'm gonna take my dusknoir so the beldum can't faint kill itself :p as it only uses takedown which can't hit dusknoir... and it might still kill itself w/ struggle which would make me so mad. =p

bleh, I have over 300 hours of playing time on my platinum, and not once have i seen a beldum swarm. I've seen larvitar twice maybe. It just likes to go between cubone, corsola, doduo, spoink, and others that i really don't care about. it's very frustrating because in a week i MIGHT get 3 different swarms

use a couple quick balls at the beginning, go to dusk balls (if at night, if not, use ultra balls), and then go to timer balls. quick balls usually work really well.

this is the most hardest pokemon to catch thats non-legendary!!! i wasted about 100 ultra balls to get a non shiny beldum. Although its hard, its worth seeing that silver and gold
but start with a magnezone to atract easier beldums and in a battle switch magnezone for a pokemon with hypnoses or somting else, so they won't use them att and take down does nothing.
and when he is asleep u can catch him easier... xD

Try chaining the swarm pokemon. It's easier and it doesn't break your chain as much. I got my highest chain (17... -_- ) on a swarm pokemon. Unfortunately, no shiny. :(
This is the one area I struggle to chain in - I want shiny Beldum, but the cursed sandstorm is impossible to see through. Are DS Hevi (you know, the old model) users disadvantaged with less brightness?

Nice job and congrats! Yeah, tha's called a random non-shiny patch shiny pokemon. It also happened to me while chaining bibarel at chain 0, buizel at chain 1, numel at chain 6 and shinx at chain 22, all were regular patches of grass.
Bring a ghost type and some potions. Let beldum hurt itself down to around orange or red (depending on how brave you are), I would stop at half health just incase the ghost type faints or it starts to struggle. Then send out the ghost type. It can't hurt you with take down and thus can't hurt or K.O. itself.
It's almost impossible for me to see in the Sandstorm. Does it help to turn the light on the DS brighter? =O Because I am itchin for a shiny Adamant Metagross. >:3

once you get to chain 40 theres no need to rise the chain, since your chances to get a shiny pokemon dont rise after chain 40, so keep reseting your radar till u get the shiny patch. buy 300+ repels

No, not for me. I never get tired of seeing a shiny patch appear. It does get kind of monotonous after the initial shiny patch, but the excitement is always there.
In my case i got pretty exited when i saw a shiny patch a few days ago. I screamed with a very akward voice screaming "shiny" like a drunken 15 year old lol. Well for the first time in my life i actually captured a shiny Meditite with a chain of 8. I will atempth to capture more in the future (thank you Z33 for the guide) and i will try to level down my exitement lol.

When i saw it, i was like omg! no way! a shiny patch! It was 5:00am and this was my first(and last) shiny patch because i just started chaining 4 days ago(it was august 16th). I NEVER got a shiny patch since cuz i cant get my chain to 40 no matter how hard i try. O well, at least i gotta shiny Dragonite which is pretty awesome :)
You mean the PokeRadar. OK to get you must beat the Elite Four first and then go to the Pal Park to meet Proffesor Oak. Oak will give you the PokeRadar and the Poketch feature 20 (which works alongside the PokeRadar. It allows you to count how many pokemon of the same species you have fainted/captured while you are chaining with the PokeRadar). I hope this helped you :)
some prefer alternative colors, if you looked up a specific pokemon and liked their alternative look, you'd probably decide you'd want it to look like that, but it's just free to choose, people decide to make them seem equal or close to the worth of a legendary, but it also depends on how popular the pokemon is, blargh
I catch so many because I'm catching for myself and for my girlfriend, and to have a shiny version of each evolution stage. I like the challenge of catching something that is hard to catch and trying to find a shiny version, makes it that much more appealing.

I don't have a preference because the rarity of the pokemon dictates how easy the chain will be. Or abilities that you use in order to encounter certain types of pokemon at a higher percentage. Like, static or magnet pull.
Wow, that must take a LOT of patience. Whenever I go shiny hunting I always bring one of my raltz/kirlia/gardevoirs with me to hopefully get a beneficial nature.

I found shiny beldum in a normal patch. Ive been having luck with normal patches. Beldum is so hard to catch though. It killed itself.

Well, Beldum has the same catch rate as a legendary so its hard with an Ultra Ball. Id recommend a Master ball.

This is the one area I struggle to chain in - I want shiny Beldum, but the cursed sandstorm is impossible to see through. Are DS Hevi (you know, the old model) users disadvantaged with less brightness?

lol! i had a shiny natu at chain 0!! wtf? i just started chaining and walked in a grass and a shiny natu appeared.. woohoo!! i thin kthats the shortest chain ever ;)

Nice job and congrats! Yeah, tha's called a random non-shiny patch shiny pokemon. It also happened to me while chaining bibarel at chain 0, buizel at chain 1, numel at chain 6 and shinx at chain 22, all were regular patches of grass.

Bring a ghost type and some potions. Let beldum hurt itself down to around orange or red (depending on how brave you are), I would stop at half health just incase the ghost type faints or it starts to struggle. Then send out the ghost type. It can't hurt you with take down and thus can't hurt or K.O. itself.

It's almost impossible for me to see in the Sandstorm. Does it help to turn the light on the DS brighter? =O Because I am itchin for a shiny Adamant Metagross. >:3

i have 462 hours on my Pearl and over 500 hours on my second Emerald game. So yeah, Pokemon takes an awful amount of time if you like the game. Its almost like a drug lol

lol yeah your right about that, only if i find things to do, like chaining/breeding lol. On my old diamond file, i had like 450 hours on it cuz i had it since july 07. I restarted a while ago though lol.

wow lol i remember when i resetted my Emerald game i was lost. I was like "dude i dont know where to go now" lol it was as fun as the first time that i beated both leaders from team magma/aqua :p eventualy i got my way around the game.

I suggest to start resetting at 40 and do not advance the chain until you've resetted the radar at least 200 times.

once you get to chain 40 theres no need to rise the chain, since your chances to get a shiny pokemon dont rise after chain 40, so keep reseting your radar till u get the shiny patch. buy 300+ repels

yea i forgot to put that i got a shiny beldum a while ago. took me forever, but thanks guys for the advice. =] the chain broke at 76 and my DS broke a couple of days later -_- w.e it was old. getting a new one anyway.

No, not for me. I never get tired of seeing a shiny patch appear. It does get kind of monotonous after the initial shiny patch, but the excitement is always there.

In my case i got pretty exited when i saw a shiny patch a few days ago. I screamed with a very akward voice screaming "shiny" like a drunken 15 year old lol. Well for the first time in my life i actually captured a shiny Meditite with a chain of 8. I will atempth to capture more in the future (thank you Z33 for the guide) and i will try to level down my exitement lol.

lol yeah i was like that too when i saw my first shiny patch. It was at a chain of 13(and they say that numbers bad luck) and it was an electirke. When i saw it, i was like omg! no way! a shiny patch! It was 5:00am and this was my first(and last) shiny patch because i just started chaining 4 days ago(it was august 16th). I NEVER got a shiny patch since cuz i cant get my chain to 40 no matter how hard i try. O well, at least i gotta shiny Dragonite which is pretty awesome :)

You mean the PokeRadar. OK to get you must beat the Elite Four first and then go to the Pal Park to meet Proffesor Oak. Oak will give you the PokeRadar and the Poketch feature 20 (which works alongside the PokeRadar. It allows you to count how many pokemon of the same species you have fainted/captured while you are chaining with the PokeRadar). I hope this helped you :)

some prefer alternative colors, if you looked up a specific pokemon and liked their alternative look, you'd probably decide you'd want it to look like that, but it's just free to choose, people decide to make them seem equal or close to the worth of a legendary, but it also depends on how popular the pokemon is, blargh

I catch so many because I'm catching for myself and for my girlfriend, and to have a shiny version of each evolution stage. I like the challenge of catching something that is hard to catch and trying to find a shiny version, makes it that much more appealing.

I don't have a preference because the rarity of the pokemon dictates how easy the chain will be. Or abilities that you use in order to encounter certain types of pokemon at a higher percentage. Like, static or magnet pull.

Wow, that must take a LOT of patience. Whenever I go shiny hunting I always bring one of my raltz/kirlia/gardevoirs with me to hopefully get a beneficial nature.

Yeah, synchronize is a great tool, but for some reason I like getting random natures on the shiny pokemon I find and catch.
