Ok, i got a .22 Hatsan MOD 60, 1000 good brand hunting pellets, the reason i would take my air rifle, it requires less maintenance than a regular shotgun or hunting rifle, the pellets can pierce the skull and will ricochet through the brain. yes the reload is a hassle but i keep a melee weapon for when they get to close and my local population is quite small so there wont be many infected to kill in my area
Sawed off shotguns are illegule(any shotgun with a barrel below 18" is) and assult rifles are expensinve and require knoledge of firearms and maintanince,most people dont know how to load or reload a M16 or AK-47
Go with what you know how to use(and have expirience with), hunting rifles,pump shotguns,semi auto rifles and shotguns,hell go with a .22 if you have to, anything you know

I'll use a Springfield 1903 with a silencer. If I hit a zomibe at over 450 yards away I have a fraction of a second before the crack of the rifle hits the distance the zombie was at. Gives me some time to reload or to move to a new postion. The silencer should limit the distance the crack goes to by 50 maybe 100 yeards if I'm lucky. For closer fights I'll use the AK-47. Plenty of those around with plenty of the type of ammo. Easy to use and extremely reliable.
8-12? The M9 has 15. You can get extended mags for pistols up to 30. A sawed off shot gun has almost no range, and it doesn't reload very fast. Also, and M14 doesn't have a two mile range, and most snipers train for years to be able to hit a target a mile and a half away. Also, and M14 is a battle rifle, not an assault rifle. Thank you for being real idiots in survival guide.

i would take my gsg5 .22 rifle. it's an MP5 chambered to shoot .22 rounds. all you have to do is shoot them in the head. a .22 is loud, but it's a lot more quiet than any other gun. plus, it uses a small round, so the bullets are more accurate at long distances. they weigh next to nothing, so you can carry thousands of rounds with no effort. i would also take a machette, and a hatchet

other then a shotgun my favorite gun to use is a 22 within a 100 yard radius a 22 with a red dot scope can pierce there skull and kill the brain and with 2- 50 round clips semi auto is great plus a 12 gauge full choke 8 rounds on your back helps greatly:P!!

@iiannyue I highly doubt you will be able to recover your arrows, even if the combat is over. Also, you would need A LOT of practice to be able to get head shots with an arrow.
@ebrowne369 Really? ya maybe if u miss entirely and hits the concrete. Also i have been trained in archery. so i can use my recurve or compound (compound is like a gun but silent and doesnt flash) and it was for years lol. besides arrows are in big stocks too. the only problem is u have to spend ur time rep[airing or refletching or reshaping the arrows. and also headshots are easy because with a compound the target is smaller than a human head. and we have 3 small ones to shoot.
@ebrowne369 and the only problem is with fatigue since it needs strength to pull for long periods of time, but on the bright side u wouldnt have to care much because ull only need about 20 rounds if no one makes a sound. (the bow and arrow isnt a assault weapon but it makes the perfect defensive weapon and u can add a cloth soaked in fuel and fire it to burn off corpses from afar which in the long run makes it safer and u can shoot further away so it doesnt attract "ppl" *be aware theyre fked up
@ebrowne369 also u havent known much in archery then. since practise is needed but getting ur arrows back is very practical. Even if u dont u can always manufacture ur own easily. all u need to know is to get the shaft, get the tips and get the fletches
so basically wood, stone or bone (which are plenty) and chicken feathers (assuming if theres any animals left).
@iiannyue I wasn't saying archery is bad, because first off, where I live guns are illegal so it would be more convenient, and also its silent, but I have practiced archery and it takes a long time to get good. a few trips to the firing range and you will be decent with a firearm, but bow and arrow is different.

@iiannyue I might take archery lessons, but the only reason I would pick bow over gun is because where I live guns are banned and bows are much easier to find.
A good hunting crossbow is pretty heavy and although you may be able to reuse your bolts chances are they will be lost or damaged far faster than 50 rounds of well placed rifle ammunition.
You're correct on the p-90 besides it's an anemic round, go with the fs2000 or RFB instead if you like the bullpup design. The ammo is far easier to find. Also you won't be able to find a suppressor, unless you already know someone that has one

how about a ruger 10/22. you have 25 and 30 round clips for it . and you can buy a brick or ammo ( 500+ ) rounds for less then 15 dollars. they are very quite and 22 bullets moves around on the body . you will want to destroy the brain of a zombieright? ok a 22 will go through the skull bouncing around and killing them almost on the spot and you also have speed reloaders for the 25 to 30 rounds mags. they are very accurate at 50 to 100 yards and never jam up .
@FLAMINGBABYPUNCH AA12 and P90 arent easy to find. And crossbows seem iffy. i dont want to be retrieving an arrow/bolt from a corpse to realize its still kickin'. i guess you could fire a close range 2nd arrow/bolt to be safe.
@FLAMINGBABYPUNCH I'm assuming this is your dream list, because you won't find a real P90 anywhere. There aren't a lot of them and only militaries can get them, and even these are in small amounts. Not to mention ammo for them would be impossible to find, because they fire custom rounds. AA 12's are more common but if you went full auto you'd run out in seconds, eating up your ammo supply. Both guns are great against people, but I wouldn't pick any auto weapon for zombies.

And you listed the AA12 as a good weapon because it is a lightweight and fully automatic shotgun with no recoil, not because it is durable (and 12 lbs is NOT lightweight for a gun that you have to carry around). 12 guage rounds have no recoil? Really? Anyone who has fired a 12 gauge will tell you different, esp on full auto.

@FLAMINGBABYPUNCH Interesting, however personal experience with one's own firearm would heavily outweigh the usefulness of autos. Could you maintain, field-strip or repair a P90 or AA-12? In an emergency, I would go with a weapon I know in and out rather than the latest military weapon I've never even held much less trained with. The idea that these autos reign supreme is based in "techno-chauvinsim and the absence of practical experience" (Max Brooks, "Zombie Survival Guide").
@Hissanrach Yeah. I haven't fired a single gun before thus I don't really have a favorite weapon so I might as well have the latest military weapon. The knowledge I have for guns comes from videos other sources on the internet not from personal experience.
It's not a custom round but a proprietary round and go for about $20 for 50 rounds not terribly common but I can get them at my local Walmart. The p90 is far more common than the AA-12 and it's semi counterpart the PS-90 is in just about every gun store.
The AA-12's delayed blowback and weight tame the recoil and it's creator easily shoot's it with one hand in full auto. Recoilless is an overstatement but if you watch the vids of it you will see it's pretty tame for a 12 gauge.

i would take my gsg5 .22 rifle. it's an MP5 chambered to shoot .22 rounds. all you have to do is shoot them in the head. a .22 is loud, but it's a lot more quiet than any other gun. plus, it uses a small round, so the bullets are more accurate at long distances. they weigh next to nothing, so you can carry thousands of rounds with no effort. i would also take a machette, and a hatchet

other then a shotgun my favorite gun to use is a 22 within a 100 yard radius a 22 with a red dot scope can pierce there skull and kill the brain and with 2- 50 round clips semi auto is great plus a 12 gauge full choke 8 rounds on your back helps greatly:P!!

erm why not just use a crossbow or a bow? i mean its silent and almost unlimited ammo -if u can get the arrows/bolt back- irl i use a bow XD and besides i wanna survive not fight for a few seconds and get gobbled up and become whats left of those srry bastards whos too stupid to use a quieter weapon
ps the gun is only good for killing other humans or to lure stuff, and maybe to drag zombies or ppl away from the actual hideout (be sure to have a helicopter or a way out)

@iiannyue I highly doubt you will be able to recover your arrows, even if the combat is over. Also, you would need A LOT of practice to be able to get head shots with an arrow.

@ebrowne369 Really? ya maybe if u miss entirely and hits the concrete. Also i have been trained in archery. so i can use my recurve or compound (compound is like a gun but silent and doesnt flash) and it was for years lol. besides arrows are in big stocks too. the only problem is u have to spend ur time rep[airing or refletching or reshaping the arrows. and also headshots are easy because with a compound the target is smaller than a human head. and we have 3 small ones to shoot.

@ebrowne369 and the only problem is with fatigue since it needs strength to pull for long periods of time, but on the bright side u wouldnt have to care much because ull only need about 20 rounds if no one makes a sound. (the bow and arrow isnt a assault weapon but it makes the perfect defensive weapon and u can add a cloth soaked in fuel and fire it to burn off corpses from afar which in the long run makes it safer and u can shoot further away so it doesnt attract "ppl" *be aware theyre fked up

@ebrowne369 also u havent known much in archery then. since practise is needed but getting ur arrows back is very practical. Even if u dont u can always manufacture ur own easily. all u need to know is to get the shaft, get the tips and get the fletches
so basically wood, stone or bone (which are plenty) and chicken feathers (assuming if theres any animals left).

@iiannyue I wasn't saying archery is bad, because first off, where I live guns are illegal so it would be more convenient, and also its silent, but I have practiced archery and it takes a long time to get good. a few trips to the firing range and you will be decent with a firearm, but bow and arrow is different.

As long as u keep it in parts, so then even if some duchebag takes ur bow, he would probably be too dumb to know how to string it and assemble it without it breaking (hopefully its still in one piece).

A good hunting crossbow is pretty heavy and although you may be able to reuse your bolts chances are they will be lost or damaged far faster than 50 rounds of well placed rifle ammunition.
You're correct on the p-90 besides it's an anemic round, go with the fs2000 or RFB instead if you like the bullpup design. The ammo is far easier to find. Also you won't be able to find a suppressor, unless you already know someone that has one
No way you'll find an AA-12.

If Britain hadn't defended itself from the Luftwaffe, the Germans would have gained air supremacy, making an Invasion of britain possible and successful. The Russians killed the most germans and took pressure off Britain. America provided the materials and man power that Britain needed to liberate Europe. You guys all needed each other, and are on the same side, so stop fighting.

how about a ruger 10/22. you have 25 and 30 round clips for it . and you can buy a brick or ammo ( 500+ ) rounds for less then 15 dollars. they are very quite and 22 bullets moves around on the body . you will want to destroy the brain of a zombieright? ok a 22 will go through the skull bouncing around and killing them almost on the spot and you also have speed reloaders for the 25 to 30 rounds mags. they are very accurate at 50 to 100 yards and never jam up .

@FLAMINGBABYPUNCH AA12 and P90 arent easy to find. And crossbows seem iffy. i dont want to be retrieving an arrow/bolt from a corpse to realize its still kickin'. i guess you could fire a close range 2nd arrow/bolt to be safe.

@FLAMINGBABYPUNCH I'm assuming this is your dream list, because you won't find a real P90 anywhere. There aren't a lot of them and only militaries can get them, and even these are in small amounts. Not to mention ammo for them would be impossible to find, because they fire custom rounds. AA 12's are more common but if you went full auto you'd run out in seconds, eating up your ammo supply. Both guns are great against people, but I wouldn't pick any auto weapon for zombies.

And you listed the AA12 as a good weapon because it is a lightweight and fully automatic shotgun with no recoil, not because it is durable (and 12 lbs is NOT lightweight for a gun that you have to carry around). 12 guage rounds have no recoil? Really? Anyone who has fired a 12 gauge will tell you different, esp on full auto.

@FLAMINGBABYPUNCH Interesting, however personal experience with one's own firearm would heavily outweigh the usefulness of autos. Could you maintain, field-strip or repair a P90 or AA-12? In an emergency, I would go with a weapon I know in and out rather than the latest military weapon I've never even held much less trained with. The idea that these autos reign supreme is based in "techno-chauvinsim and the absence of practical experience" (Max Brooks, "Zombie Survival Guide").

It's not a custom round but a proprietary round and go for about $20 for 50 rounds not terribly common but I can get them at my local Walmart. The p90 is far more common than the AA-12 and it's semi counterpart the PS-90 is in just about every gun store.
The AA-12's delayed blowback and weight tame the recoil and it's creator easily shoot's it with one hand in full auto. Recoilless is an overstatement but if you watch the vids of it you will see it's pretty tame for a 12 gauge.

Personaly I would travel light only use weapons I have expeiance in (Bolt action rifles, Shotgun pump action, small pistols 9mm) ofcourse I may not be able to carry all three so what I can without weighing me down too much. When the first out break occours it's only a matter of time before most of the planet is infected estimated to be approximately 38 days everyone will be buying up all the supplies they can 1st i'd buy top quality weapons (money will soon be useless) and reliable tools ......

Anyone watching this is either auditing for the sake of it bored,interested or just realy paranoid. First of all video game physics are more accurate than people make them out to be although many aspects like running from massive hordes for miles the amount of weight their carrying and their seemingly unlimited knowledge on how to operate every type of weapon and never have a jam from a weapon covered in blood are extremely outragous --- my following comment ^^^ contains what i would do.......

Not saying crossbows are bad, far from it there really good and are quiet I would prob use one myself I just wouldn't rely on it as my main weapon on my own, with a group then yea they are great :)
