MRE as a snack ? why have a good life when you can eat stuff that tastes bad.... and why would you think you would need to cook your MRE in silence in a building ? the russians and northkoreans wont invade your home dude.......
No, you're the fuckin dumb ass. Water vapor is gas. It's the gas form of water. Go look it up. You think Marines don't get told what it is in a safety class? Get your facts straight before you try to tell someone in the military what is what. Your comment was dumb as you are.
i bought a MRE #4 today and i wanted to see what it tasted like because im going to have to get used to it anyways (Im joining the Army in 3 years) and idk how the heater works. it isnt this water one. it is freeze dried and looks nothing like this. can somone help me?
Those gasses are definitely flammable! If you get a group of people eating them together be VERY sure nobody nearby is smoking, and to use it in a well ventilated area. I saw (i am a medic) a soldier with injuries from this.
@KaletheQuick let me be more specific: do you think that repeatedly inhaling these fumes over a long period of time can cause your immune system to fail ala poppers in the gay community?
Those things are so unrelated... The reaction makes two waste products, Hydrogen gas, and Magnesium Hydroxide. Hydrogen gas can only hurt you or if there is so much of it that is chokes out oxygen, but H2 rises so that is no problem. Magnesium Hydroxide is a common over the counter laxative and acne medicine. You know it as Milk of Magnesia. Since people have been drinking that and rubbing it all over their faces for hundreds of years you should be fine.
Poppers on the other hand are a carcinogenic mutagen that fucks with your neurotransmitters and cardiovascular systems, and like you said have been shown to suppress the immune system. Using smaller words, it causes cancer, causes mutations (usually cancer), messes up your brain, and makes your heart need to be difribulated (shocked; "CLEAR" zzt). The fact you find the two related disturbs me and I recommend you stop using them.
Hey, you are the one that brought it up. Also, you set yourself up perfectly for that joke. lol. Gulf war syndrome is readily explained bu depleted uranium, and is more like a blanket term for many different thing. Depleted Uranium is actually still radioactive and very chemicly reactive. When it hits something it burns making radioactive soot, which is subsequently inhailed. Nothing spectacular.
But that poppers question seriously did come out of nowhere. :p
actually the poppers question comes from a documentary which proposes that aids is not a disease but rather a grouping of immune system destroying problems, of which poppers was one.
AIDS is not a disease, it is a symptom, like a fever or a cough. Acquired Immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) can be "Acquired" in several ways, like having all of your lymph nodes removed. But usually has to do with that nifty virus HIV. I think we should just give everyone AIDS, then let the people who are immune make the next generation.
What do you mean snack!! They are great for meals I eat them when ever I can. They just take getting use to but after you do they are great. To me the best part is the Huge crackers man do i love them yum yum. Best ones are the military grade that are not meant for sale. They come with everything VS the Citizen ones that come with next to nothing. Only draw back I can say about eating a MRE is they give you gas.
I had a buddy that just got off active duty pick me up a case of MRE's. Their not that bad. But then again I dont have to survive on them for weeks at a time like my friend did. He thought I was crazy actually wanting them.

wtf is wrong with you bro?
i ask a simple question and you feel the need to accuse me of using poppers?
i'm wondering about the still unexplained 'gulf war syndrome' and why we don't just call it aids when it happens to soldiers.
having no medical knowledge of any kind i decided to ask someone who knows.
wtf is your problem that i cant ask u a simple question without you accusing me of being both gay and a drug user?
feeling insecure about something perhaps?
sheesh!
