Hey guys my dad said he would by me a Vintage Fender Tube Amp from the 60's, for my Middle School graduation. What amp could I find that would be under 2k?
"never bothering with terms like vintage" lol. We see all kinds of vintage and relic Fender guitars being built these days which I don't really see the purpose of it.
I am not a big fender guy ( I do own a 1970's Fender twin) but you gota give credit where credit is due and this guy is a bad ass! just saying...... Please do expand on the CBS topic please.
Hey Andy, Have you ever thought about doing anything for TV/Cable? I know my cable service provider has a "music" section on 'Free On Demand'. They used to have two guys giving lessons a while back, but the show was cancelled. Too bad....they were pretty good. I know this is a gear review site, however maybe it would be something to look into?
This isn't sports teams, you can love Fender & Gibson, you don't have to pick sides or post comments saying one is better than the other......unless you're an asshole
@omfg51 And, it takes an ignoramus de-luxe to attempt a comparison between the incomparable... apples and oranges.... peanuts and bananas.... Fenders and Gibsons..... just sayin...
@omfg51 A les paul is a les paul, and a strat is a strat. Niether are better except for the fact that gibson can't put out a high quality guitar for 1200 bucks ( or 4000 for that matter)
@omfg51 I understand you liking Gibson but if you've ever played a G&L, you'd know they are amazing. Fender's are good but G&L's are amazing. Gibson's are overrated and over priced.
@omfg51 Gibson is overrated. I see way more fenders hanging off the shoulders of players ranging from the annoying kid living next door who can't play a lick to hendrix, dick dale, jeff beck, PGS's Andy etc etc. there is obviously a reason. I'm just reason. and yeah maybe those players i just named also played a gibson.... i just see them playing fender more.
@guitarpieter Short version: Leo sells to CBS. Leo thinks quality (and CBS in general ) sucks. Leo wants control back....CBS says NO. Leo says "then here's Music Man... and G&L....
Beautiful... and I learned a lot. Had no idea he was involved in G&L or MusicMan stuff... Though I guess that's like Rupert Neve who sold his company and then went off and did work for Amek and then formed another company.
A real education for the young 'uns Andy.....from the man who never retired, and never quit trying to improve product.....I own and play a mid 90's G&L.....and it's amazing.......nice Junior Brown backing btw!!!!!!
That stingray really is a good bass.. Hell, one of the best out there. And if you can't afford one they always offer the Sterling Ray34, which is practically the same thing.
Can you make a video of andy's pedal board?

Pretty cool---definitely make the CBS and later Fender a topic of a future scoop.
Have to admit, seeing the Gibson on the Fender scoop also struck me as ironic.

Andy, for another Scoop we need you to go in depth with single coil, P90, and humbucking pickups.
