  • WoW! look where Robin Williams and Danny Devito have gone since these days.

  • One of my hero's Ernie Anderson. "The" voice of ABC for most of the 70's and 80's.. a nice trip down memory lane, right back to being 7 again !

  • Thank you for these, Catra. I'm with humbleradio on this one. It's a good thing you guys are out there - otherwise we'd never have these treasures to take us back :-) Some of these even get me a little teary eyed for my childhood

  • He's the man I will always associate with TV in the late 70s and early 80s...of course, when I found out he was the4 father of PT Anderson, I flipped...

    "On the Looooove Boat!

  • Thank goodness for you Beta guys and gals out there taping. This stuff is priceless! So many memories. Even networks often taped over their masters!

    Great post.

  • He is Paul Thomas Anderson's father.

  • @joedits1 Wow, I was not aware of that!

  • Christmas Eve, 1981

Mork and Mindy - "Mork Learns to See" (repeat from January 17, 1980)

Best of the West - "They're Hanging Parker Tillman, Part 1" (repeat from October 15, 1981)

Taxi - "On the Job" (repeat from May 7 and 14, 1981)

    20/20

  • Someone told me there was a 20/20 interview with Ernie Anderson from the early to mid 90's? Ernie had a gruff look to him. Also I heard the host of America's Funniest Home Video's Bob Sagot used to include Ernie in some bits on camera? Any truth to these?

  • they've taken down the ernie anderson interview with a very young paul in the background!? Honestly.

  • Ernie is Paul Thomas Anderson's dad, right?

  • I wanna tickle Mork!!!

  • Me too! ;)

  • Thursday night, fall of '81. Ernie Anderson was "the" voice of ABC's promos during that period. He'd have been the narrator on "THE POWERPUFF GIRLS" if he hadn't passed away in early 1998.....

  • February 1997 he died.

  • I feel like I'm 15 years old again, upstairs watching the tube before mom calls me down for dinner. These promos were ALWAYS running. Thanks!

  • Ernie Anderson did this huh? I like his voice! I heard his last announcing job was on America's Funniest Home Videos.

  • Can you post the Ernie Anderson blooper reels?

  • Sorry, don't have any. This came direct from an ABC broadcast.

  • This sounds like it came from the 80's TV Themes site (I saw this same promo from that site).

  • Has to be a coincidence. This came from my personal Beta recordings collection.
