  • wow for people who took over 12 mins to do 1.5 miles, wtf is wrong with you? Im only 17 and I done 3miles today, 1.5 in 10:19, 3 in 21:36, and that's only after a couple of weeks of practice, we Were running with some marines today In saltwell park.

  • @NdzDJ Make a video, i think you are bull shitting.

  • @Darathath Shitty form or under hand grip.

Takes a real machine to do 25 controlled overhand pull up's, and definaetly no bigger guys will be doing more than 15 reps. The manlets have a major advantage on the pulls, little scrawny guys can be significantly weaker and do more pulls than a bloke 4 stone heavier than them.

  • New PRMC Scores, due to increase in numbers:

    1.5/1.5 = 12:30 / 10:30

    60 Press-Ups = 85 MAX

    85 Sit-Ups = 100 MAX

    10 Pull-Ups = 16 MAX

All must be completed in perfect form.

But beware, Failing to Prepare is Prepairing to Fail.

  • @OChristie what does 1.5 bit mean is that running? how far?

  • @Supplementreviewdude Yes, its the 3 Mile Run done on Day 1 of PRMC around 0800. 1st 1.5 Mile in 12:30 and the second done in 10:30 or less. But, If you get 10:28 you still may fail if you don't dig out blind on all the other excersises. Remember they are not looking for Supermen they are looking for blokes who can give that commitment and put his mates first not some phys ninja who is jack as fuck !

  • @OChristie

holy shit, you're the clown who quit 116 troop in foundation! who on earth are you to be giving advice!

  • @xadam88x you fucking what? I got Medically Discharged Week 11 who ever you are? Did i fuck wrap my tits in!

  • If you find this easy you are lying or doing them wrong.

  • Thats a controlled pullup...

  • Training for my PRMC now. Can only manage 40 of the Marine press-ups without stopping, though. Not so good, but i'm working on it! Only just got back into training. Can crack out 100 sit-ups in one go, and 9 pull-ups. Good luck to anyone going on their PRMC soon.

  • @mike0mike Your stats are good, if you can do 40 in private, you'll be able to crack out at least 45 on the day (a lot more motivation) which is more than enough to pass. When I did it, I think I got about 47 press ups, 80 sit ups and barely 1-2 pull ups (annoyingly when I tried pulling myself up, my body started to cramp up really badly so I had to drop off, wasn't to do with strength) and I passed, but I was still in school at the time so they were probably a bit more lenient with me.

  • this is a joke, he was struggling at 3

  • @indareer45

    How can you tell?

  • How many do I have to do to pass?

  • @locsaretheshit I heard it was 12 :l

  • @trevor215412 I thought it was 6! :O

  • @locsaretheshit err i'm guessing that as you progress through your training you will be required to do more pull ups

  • @locsaretheshit It is 6 for top marks on PRMC, however you can pass on a lower number if you perform really well on all other aspects.

  • Those are really some hard pullups!

  • but those pull ups are mainly in ur fingers as the beam is rather long so ur unable to put ur hand over it for grip

  • @isudizzyblud the most pull ups I've ever done was on a beam like this, but i think everyone finds a different grip better for them

  • isn't that bad for your arms to lower yourself every time you lifted yourself. So when your arms are completley stratched. I thougt that wasn't good for you

  • Seems to be some misunderstanding here. The USMC fitness test is carried out every 6 months in their careers, according to the US military websites. The INITIAL FITNESS TEST is minimum 2 pulls ups, 35 sit ups and 1.5 miles in 13:30.

The RMC fitness test is used PRIOR TO JOINING to see if you have the POTENTIAL to get through training.

Both these forces are different, so comparing them is futile. The RMC put more emphasis on endurance and strength for their commando role.

  • kinda funny...he looked like he was already struggling at 3

  • If you struggle with pullups then the best thing to do is jump up on the bar so your chin is at the top, then slowly move down and then drop, repea this and you will eventually find pullups easy.

  • @andii194 Yeah - negative repetitions - that's good advice.

  • Uk save the Queen with these gaysxD

  • bud, big guys usually arent worth shit if you need someone with stamina or agility. little guys keep going and ging as long as they need to. and alot of them are almost as strong as the big beach muscled fags at the gym

  • @str94100 shh be quiet lil guy

  • @chrlzbrks my apologies that we arent all over sized and useless. i lift with power lifters an wanna be body builders, and no matter if they bench 500 and squat 600 they still cant work for shit cus they have no endurance and nowhere near enough energy to power those muscles. do a summer or two as an iron worker or construction laborer and see where bein big gets your sorry ignorant ass

  • @str94100 it depends my friend on what your doing, if your beasting 100 pounds on ya back for miles on end being heavier and having the mussle mass on you, you will be able to lug threw it easier throw that 100 pound pack around easier, but to lift ya own body weight is harder cause ya heaver, every body type has its advantages and disadvantages.

  • @eXceSsiveReVoLtE all your soldiers are Kuntz

  • wimp

  • I was just wondering mate, you know on the three mile run, what are the rules for it? I got told it was none stop but you had to complete 1.5 miles in 12:30 mins then without stopping an all out run which you had to complete the remaining half within 10 minutes, i can only get about 35 push ups in and im running about 3 miles twice a week then the other two days of workout i run 0.5 miles in about 2:40, is this a good way to work up to the standards?

  • No you gotta train more than that mate, I run 3-4 days a week at least 24 miles a week in total and strength training weights and body weight exercises 5-6 days a week max number of pullups and like 1400+ situps and push ups a week. You really have to work on your cardio, endurance runs few days a week like 6-12 miles each run helps build your stamina and VO2 Max.

  • Push ups Sit ups and Pull ups whenever you can and interval training at least 6 times a week, thats 200m sprint 100m jog recovery and so on, also do some long runs and tabs in the mornings when your muscle are still recovering.

  • i can't even do one... i don't think..

    might try now though

  • Hello mate, best way to work the muscles for pull ups is to go to a gym, use the lateral pull down machine to strengthen your muscles until you can lift your own weight I found this helped me a lot when i was in your situation which wasn't that long ago!

  • Been there. As soon as you can get one pull-up, the rest start pouring in. Kind of neat.

  • I'm training at home to join the marines just getting my body fit enough.. Do they require a bleep test with heaves? If so how many heaves are you expected to do? Cheers

  • haha 6 myt not sound like much but i wudnt like to try that after a shuttle run and all the pressups and sit ups :/

  • this is why im not joining the marines. i want to and i have the heart but not the body. i just dont think i have what it physically takes. mentally yes. physically no.

  • If you really have heart, you would try your best to get in better physical shape.

  • trust me man im tryin. i enjoy exercising its dieting thats hard. because i come from a family that was raised on soul food so i love greasy fried foods and such. but ive been trying, ive lost about 9 pounds over the summer.

  • Damn it, now I want some fried foods, haha.

  • plenty of cardio and a strict diet, they aint looking for supermen, just men who won't ever stop until ordered to. Do your best and you'll meet your goals, you can always be stronger, you can always be fitter.

  • i went into the mariens last year bit of fat Totally out of Shave after the course i was a monster.. i couldntt Bairly do anything For atleast week and half. You get trained thats the whole point you dont need training before hand they work you like a fucking DOG till your Marien strong its totally worth it great experince dont Let your Body Discourage you

  • i can do 20 of each

  • the careers office gave me a sheet for points for prmc.

6 reps is 6 points, 5 reps 5 points etc.

  • shit, you gotta touch your chest to the top?!?! that is hard, I always just put my chin slightly over the bar...thats insane!!!

  • Royal Marines demand at least 6 with maximum points scored for any number over 16.

  • could you explain to me how the Royal Marine pointing/grading scheme works..they demand 6 YES..but shouldn't the 6 mean maximum points??

and if not then what is the actual score on anything more then 16..please explain..!!!

  • I am not an expert at all. I got all my info from the Royal Marines website. But all I know is that the minimum requirement to pass is 6 reps. You get more points for anything you get above that and I believe you score maximum points at 16 reps. But you can double check on the website.

  • Fair enough!! :)...Right now I'm practically training my ass off for my PRMC next month..I have to pass yo! :0

  • 6 is the minimum amount that they require you to do in your PRMC and then i think 12 reps and above is top marks.

and you have to do it on the PTI's count.

  • i think it is sad saying the USMC 20 is ideal. it should be average

  • you only have to do six for the royal marines

  • Do you even know how hard 20 is? Average my ass...

  • yes i do. my max set is 37. anybody can do that if they dedicate themselves to their work and if they really want it

  • 20 is like the max in the PFT test for the USMC. I think like 3 is. I'm gonna guess 10 is like the average, it really just depends on your body fat percentage and weight.

  • Forget that, I didn't see the first commenter. It's like the exact as mine. Haha.

  • I would like to see that man, if u can do 37 pull-ups WITH PROPER FORM u would be superman.

  • i have seen ppl do 40+. i know a Staff Sergeant who in one hour can do about 300 pull-ups/chin ups with our dismounting. there deff are ppl out here like that. you just gotta know where to find em

  • Ok man, I found you. you claim to be able to do 37 pull-ups at the one time. Please take a video of that and show us

  • if you are that infatuated with that just look on here. I bet you can find someone who already has it posted. and for your request...really?

  • I totally agree with you on that point bweltermike. When i started pull ups I couldn't do more than 4 SERIOUSLY..now I'm on 15..so that in yur saying u can do 37..I REALLY DO NOT find that an impossible feat AT ALL.....I even trying to do muscle ups right now in fact..Cant even do a single ONE as yet but I WILL be able to some day..I just know it..

  • What's the average number of pull-ups required for a Royal Marine? US marines have 20 ideal, but their average is only 10, with 3 being the bare minimum.
