I was at this game and no-one saw it live!? But we did see Cowan hold Botha back. I think the commentators remarks are interesting, it was a provoked response which had to be acted on, but 9 weeks was bullshit. Maybe 1 game, come on, it was a bump on the back of the head, Cowan thinks it was funny even, no injury! you can also see it on videos like the one where Mortlock is being tackled by another player and Botha decides to charge the back of his head. Botha hardly ever picks on people unless their back is turned or they can't do anything to stop him

Botha does not "intimidate" international players. That is simply laughable to suggest at that level. They are all big boys and know it's a tough old game. Frankly, Botha is a world class lock and his game is dragged down by all his pantomine act bad guy stuff....he now has an extensive rap sheet....which means that each time he is cited his priors will lengthen any ban. He should concentrate on the rugby...like Victor Matfield does.
