  • Oh WOW that was WAAAAAY BEFORE my time, lol I DON'T remember Victoria falling down the stairs. That guy DIDN'T look like Victor.. WOW I must be WAAAAY behind... Thanks for posting this

  • @Getrealpeeps That was the original Jack Abbott!

  • WOW, I DON'T REMEMBER ANY OF THIS..... I guess that was WAAAAAAAY BEFORE MY TIME..... (Who was Ashley talking to at the end)?

    Thanks for posting this.....

  • @Getrealpeeps She was talking to her mother, Dina Mergeron.

  • Actually this isn't an Anniversary Special. I edited the clips myself from various scenes I had collected way back when. Anytime Y&R had a scene I liked I'd copy it onto another tape then save them all which explains the blurriness. I still have the original tape I made of this which I can see my editing skills back then were horrible. This was originally just a "Best Of Y&R" retro I made for me & my sister to enjoy which eventually ended up in tape trades over the years.

  • Vanessa's "suicide" was the best story this show ever did. The actual episode when Vanessa "jumps" is amazing footage. I don't know how they made it look so real. I would die to see this entire storyline all over again, episode by episode.

  • @TimsDale4ever you're right tims. this era with vanessa was scary good fun. that witch was some kinda crazy to do a penthouse nose dive just for the sake of framing her arch enemy lorie. she hated her that much! classic storyline. one of my all time favs next to sheila carter and eve howard stories... and of course anything with kay chancellor!

  • This was around 1981-82, right? I have very vague memories about this.

  • @kirauge15

Yeah it's around that time, as I recalled the Lorie Brooks murder trail of her mother-in-law Vanessa Printess started in late winter of 1981. The rest of the Abbott family members started making their debuts around the same time (late winter 1981 and early 1982).

  • This was terrific!

  • Thank you so much for this, some great clips. I never saw Deborah Adair as Jill, so that was a real treat too.
