Since I saw this episode I always thought to myself "I want a watch like Ben's got" and today I ordered that exact one without noticing the resemblance. Just went back to double check and yep that's the exact one. XD

But yeah, he was also very resentful towards his father, since his father acted resentful towards him (he told Ben when he was a young boy that he had killed his mother, since she died the day he was born).
@Zorb28 He was an abusive alcoholic. He was just really mean to him and it's not shown, but it's implied that he would hit him, because one time as a kid he had broken glasses and Sayid was like "You're dad?" and he was like "yeah."
