god i have been searching for this track for years and just found it. On my 22nd birthday in April 1993 I went to L'America in Leeds Corn Exchange where Paul Oakenfold played this as his first track....superb.
Brilliant track... brilliant mix. Hands down the best of the Guerilla Records releases. I've posted this as one of my all time favorite tracks at my site. Altruistic Beings dot com.
was lucky enough to have rushed off my tits to this at rennaisance in 93. i can't put into words the nights we used to have at venue 44 then at the conservatory in Derby. Dancing to this and many, many more like this at a time when hardcore was getting rubbish. This was beautiful as was the people clubbing at the time. Wooooooooooohhhhhh! Thank you geoff oakes......
I was too young in the early-mid 90s to be into clubbing or anything, but i listened to a lot of music - I heard this song on a compilation Dub House Disco. Just amazing.. probably the best record of the progressive house genre.
These guys were part of the crew that put on the infamous Dr Atomic parties back in the 90s in Brighton, UK. I was lucky enough to go to them - very messy! They did another track under the name of Synatheasia. The B side was my favourite - awesome.
ahhhhh sooo cool where the track drops in at 4.38 - have some nice mellow after club memories with this one...usually after seeing sasha & diggers at Renaissance by the sea in Kent
@sojofilm I remember seeing you guys plays this is at the Zap, i remember resurrection, the asylum, i remember.... the doves. under the arches and fucking shorham power station. What a time of our lives. Oh and Eddie Dawes LMAO.
@sojofilm OMG what an amazing track!!! Still ahead of its time if you ask me..It used to do my head in that it was only 121 bpm..it had all the signature sounds of a trance track..And this used to be played at the peak of the night!!!!
What an amazing track !! This is still ahead of its time now...And who would have thought that this used to get played at the peak of the night...at 121 bpm if i remember correctly...you should be very proud!
If you are indeed the maker of this tune - you should be proud. The fact it still has the capacity to sound fresh after 15 years is a testament to it's magnificence. Well done.
Bit of trivia for you - the opening monologue ("I was about 13 years old, 14 maybe, we were going to the roadhouse,,,,") is taken from an episode from David Lynch's sublime TV series, "TWIN PEAKS". Love both this and the TV series, and still possess both, on 12" and video respectively!!! Memories.......Thank TMF - hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
MF - have you, by chance, got "Radio Babylon" - Meat Beat Manifesto? I had it in my favourites, but it is gone, and I presume it was removed for some reason by the poster. Desperately trying to get it at the moment!!!
@synergy365 you know this mate , "we're going to the roadhouse boy" , lara flynn boyle i think . what a programme , the sexist bird ever Sherilynn Fenn
I have this and several other great tracks from the same label on the double CD release 'Dub House Disco & Dub House Disco 2000'. You can still pick those CDs up for sale for around $20.00. Deffinately worth picking up.
middi - see my post earlier. The vocal sample is from the early 90's TV series by David Lynch, "Twin Peaks". Perhaps you remember it? Both this tune and that programme have that same ethereal feel. Like a hedonistic dream. :-)
Searching this track for a very long time...have heard it on the steve mason experience show about 1992.Yeah put on your headphones and close your eyes....excellent.
