i know i may sound dumb but do adding on cams raise the horsepower of the car? and if so, how much?

@Xsar08X Cams help you move the horsepower range of your car around and help your car breath better and certain points within the powerband. Putting in larger cams on a stock turbo will make the car more laggy but might allow it to hold boost better at higher RPMs. Just depends what you want the car to do. It's a big game between turbo dize, exhaust size, and cam size ... to make power levels you want and when you need boost to come on and how long it should hold.

well ok the STi's do have that extra line on the rear quarter panel that the wrx doesnt have... this one doesnt have the line.... care to explain? its the line that goes right above the wheel... wish i could post a pic to show you... cause brakes trunk hoodscoop etc are all interchangable..

In 2005 as with the Japanese-spec C models, US-spec STis received additional rear fender flaring in order to allow an increase in wheel size. The wheel size went from 17" x 7.5" to 17" x 8". In accordance with the increased wheel width, steering lock-to-lock turns have been reduced. Wheel hub strength was improved. and yes, the P.C.D. was changed from 5 x 100 to 5 x 114.3.

IMO sounds better from the front, the choppy idle sings to me. My v8 swapped gc8 runs high lift/duration cams but my idle is a solid 400rpm warm lol

Wrong, it is most certainly an STi. I bought the car brand new in 2004. The grill is custom, as is most of the car. Pay attention to details like fog light covers, brembos, and wider fenders. I put an rs trunk lid on it, had the keylick shaved.
