@kw1ksh0t Ha - bought the record all those years ago!!!!!! beautiful music - beautiful universe - how lucky are we? we have it all - the universe and the music!
I grew up watching his show with my Dad, and listening to recording from his show.
I might not remember every single word he said, but the sound of this music and the images of the Cosmos he showed us are forever burned in my memory.
He truly made studying the Cosmos a beautiful experience.
Thank you, Carl Sagan, for making us all see the wonders of our Cosmos.
The first minute of the song makes me explode with tears at the sheer vulnerability it provokes in me almost as if it puts my place in the cosmos into perspective where i see how vast and beautiful the cosmos are in comparison to our human ugliness, Then the rest of the song transcends all i have ever known and rockets me through the cosmos where i explore every atom within our universe. Who ever composed this is a genius, the cosmos wouldn't be the same without it.
@A0Candle0In0The0Dark I love this song from the very first moment I heard the beginning of the TV series back in the 80´s in my country, since then all you have written happens to me...just amazing, how a mind and a sould could ever creat this so powerfull for the soul...God bless Vangelis and my dear Carl
I am reading Pale Blue Dot and I hate the fact that he isn't alive anymore. This man was real homo universalis. His knowledge and passion to pass it to other people is beyond anything I've ever seen.
@skutratufahija Oh, JOY, you absolutely made my day or week or year when you described Carl as "homo universalis." I can't speak for him, of course, but I am guessing that he would absolutely have loved this! You have inspired me in a more mundane realm, my garden. I am now able to name the largest squirrel I have ever seen: he is Squirrelasaurus Rex 1...and may he live long and prosper.
Carl Sagan, you died after 1 year I was born, but I'm so honored to know such a great man! I doubt there is any other great man like you on the other planets, other earth's.
I was looking for this song, thank you very much!

He knew how much he was appreciated, in his time. Too bad his time was cut short. I love that guy.
